there's a thread over here with a lot of us having problems as soon as xposed is installed it crashes s health when you try to run it.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=51958422
I tried Xposed and Wanam.
The changes I made in Wanam worked but the phone boots much slower. After it has completely booted up and you're on the home screen, it also takes a long time for things to start up (things loaded in the background, such as LightFlow). Things felt sluggish in general. I uninstalled Wanam and Xposed Framework and everything is back to full speed again.
I'm going to hold off until Wanam Xposed gets some updates for S5 compatibility.
OK thanks. Good to know.
Do u know if u can get lock screen widgets working?

Hi. Sad to see. One question though. Did the phone boot fast again and everything okay after you uninstalled it?

Yep, everything was back to normal after I uninstalled them.
I'm using xposed with quite a number of mods, no slow down, no issues except for s-health, but if I ignore the crash message it still works

when I get the crash error on s health it wont open and lags, are you running just xposed or wanam ? , soon as many of us installed xposed shealth crashes when you try to open it and only remedy is to uninstall xposed
It's never actually crashed when I load the app, rather I get random crashing in the background when I'm doing other things. Normal xposed
S Health app crashes when xposed enabled. No solution so far.

Installed wanam module to now, and although it crashed when first loaded, second time was fine..
So you installed Xposed first then wanam?
Please post how and what steps you took and what apps you installed help others

Well I only got the phone last week, installed xposed first thing, but since then I have installed countless apps and xposed mods. Changed dpi several times, all sorts of other xposed mods. Wanam I only installed today after reading this thread.
Just tried s-health again, no crash at all this time.
Ok and you have the s5 rooted and recovery installed? Weird your the 1st one that says having no problems I'm on rogers myself here g900w
ok just installed xposed.installer_v29_665be7 rebooted and my s health was working fine 100 % , then I opened xposed and installed the framework then rebooted , now my s health crashes.
so I opened xposed and uninstalled the framework , rebooted and my s health is back to normal ,but I had to relink my account and setup s health again , still with xposed installed , seems it has to do with the framework as soon I install the framework s health crashes.

ya mine was doing that at one point to , kept crashing at random times other times it wouldn't let me open s heath at all it would just crash.,
i am having this issue with receiving and making calls, the moment the screen is on, SystemUI will crash and reload.
The proximity sensor does not work after this, and i end up touching stuff with my cheek while talking.
I do have my doubts on xpose module S5 SystemUI Theme, but it all started randomly...
anyone having the same issue?
My Note 3 runs with Stock NG2, LeanKernel 3.6 and latest PhilZ CWM.
Yes! I have this issue as well. Not for outbound, but only for inbound. I use the Samsung flip cover, so I did not notice about the proximity sensor, but I just gave it a test and it shows identical behaviour. When receiving a call when screen is off, there is no problem at all, proximity also works.
I do not have the S5 SystemUI theme, and never used it.
Can't remember what I changed that could actually cause this. I have the following config:
Stock XXUEND3 (Latest PHN - The Netherlands firmware available)
Rooted with CF Autoroot
Running Ultimate Kernel v54 (but I had the issue already running stock kernel)
Connected with Gear 2
Frozen some Samsung bloatware with Titanium Backup
So I am following this thread!
Gerco
Well that's weird, Greenify keeps telling me it has problems hibernating com.sec.android.sviewcover, which i've disabled since i dont have one.
PS, to confirm your findings, i too had problems on stock kernel (*NG2 SEE) and i did wipe a lot of APK's, but most of them are non-samsung, i prefer RW rights over /system above scripting and debloating apps.
Do you by any chance have Xposed installed? if yes, what modules?
I've enabled the physical buttons for picking up and ending a call, if it wasnt up to them, i'd have to wait until the process re-opens so i can slide the thing...this is getting really annoying
I do have the Xposed framework loaded, with only Wanam Xposed active. I'll try to disable/remove Xposed and see if that makes things better.
<edit> Nope... Did not fix it... </edit>
Solved? I've this problem also with Galaxy S4 (I9505), i've disable Xposed, clean systemUI data, flash a stock rom (without wipe data)... still crash.
Had to wipe everything as i remember. The issue never came back.

So, I rooted my X last night and proceeded with my typical "must have" installs - AdAway, Xposed with Gravity Box, YouTube AdAway and Greenify modules. While trying to login into my TapaTalk account I get "Connection Issue - please double check your APN or Adblock Settings". I have tried everything short of unrooting/returning to stock ... tried on wifi and lte, disabled AdAway, uninstalled all Xposed modules, uninstalled Xposed framework, several reboots, wiping of TapaTalk app data, uninstalling/reinstalling TapaTalk and nothing works! Found this post on the TapaTalk support forum, but even it didn't work.
I am at a loss ... NEVER had this issue with ANY of my rooted/ad blocking devices! I can access TapaTalk on Chrome (and the standalone xda app works) but the app is a now go! Open to any suggestions/thoughts!
Well, disregard, it appears that it fixed itself ... After bashing my head against the wall for about an hour I gave up. Just decided to give it one more try and I was able to log right in [emoji15] Super weird!

I just updated Pokemon Go, and it crashes right after the Niantic logo. I then updated to the most recently Nightly and it still doesn't open. Has anyone managed to get the newest update of Pokemon Go to work on CM13?
Edit: I'm dumb, I just had to uninstall and reinstall the app again.

It runs normally on my device.
Try these method below:
- Try to clear data and cache.
- If problem still exists, try to uninstall and reinstall Pokemon Go.
- If still cannot, try to WIPE CACHE PARTITION in recovery mode.
Hope this works

Hmm for me the problem persists after trying all of that.
Version 0.31 crashes instantly
I reinstalled 0.29.3 now that Version runs like a charm.
Very bad update I think i will have to wait for the next one. Hope that won't be that ugly.
CM13 / microG apps / Lg G4
I had the same problem except reinstalling and clearing cache from recovery did nothing. I woke up this morning and it worked. I had changed nothing since last night and it had not updated.
uninstall, reboot, install works
Not working here, with 0.31 version (0.29.3 works, but force to update). My Zen2 is running Nightly 20160724.
Uninstall, reboot, install or Wipe Cache didn't solve.
Can you guys help?
And stock ROM? Works? V 0.31.0?

Ze551ml pokemon go cm13

but then i installed it like a update on .3 version (before i used to uninstall and install)
and it crashed the first tym then i tried with location off and turned on location on that gyrados screen and now it works fine
I think the rom makes a difference. I went from a cm 13 based rom where I had lots of crashes to a stock based rom with no problems

Without significant tweaking of the kernel and use of Greenify, there is no ROM out there that will give you more SOT than stock... and even after significant tweaking you will still gain very little, possibly so insignificant a change you won't even notice.
The issue with this device is two-fold, one is the screen is a battery hog, it is beautiful and arguable one of the best displays any smartphone has ever had, but it sucks battery like fruit in a juicer, and no ROM can change that. The second is that the battery is probably showing it's age, Lithium Ion based batteries have a definitive life cycle, and with using the Turbo charger (which can cause significant heating) the life span of the battery is reduced much quicker than "normal" so after about 18 months of use this device really shows it's age in the battery life department quickly.
So, which ROM will give you more SoT than stock out of the box, none.
If you want to go back to stock can you do it? Sure, either by flashing factory images or restoring a TWRP backup
Which ROM do I recommend? Dirty Unicorns
Can you flash stock recovery if you want? Sure, if you have a copy of it. It is often easier to NOT replace the stock recovery with TWRP, but just boot TWRP when needed.

Personally, I just use OpenGapps for everything and have never had a problem.

Use your Gapps of choice, because I use(d) OpenGapps doesn't mean you should, I have used them for years so I never changed and I have enough knowledge and experience to correct most issues without any assistance... there are clearly recommended gapps, but it's your choice.
Of course you can root it if you need to, I would recommend Magisk, but you can use SuperSU if you wish especially now that suhide is working properly. Personally, I have found no reason to root many custom ROMs anymore, or even stock for that matter.

Okay I'm sorry. Magisk and SuperSU are the rooting options. Personally I'd recommend magisk. 1) So, boot into twrp -> wipe -> advanced wipe -> check system, internal storage, and data.
2) tap install -> dirty unicorns v11.7 (or whatever zip you download) and then let it install.
3) now install -> gapps
4) now install -> magisk 14.0 (this is the root, you can flash it over whatever rom you wish, in this case it is DU)
Then I recommend wiping cache and then boot into system.

Magisk is an alternative somewhat newer way of rooting. It hides root and also does not break safety net, so you can use apps like Android pay, Pokemon go, etc...superSU is still around, but I haven't used it recently as it was unable to hide root last time I used it, and I needed root, and working Android pay. I hope that is clearer!

Hello when trying to flash any 11.x version of DU im unable to receive mobile data. I tried many different ways of flashing and no luck. I did research and the only solution I found was *#*#4636#*#* messing around with the options and only able to open get 3g icon. Even doing this was unstable. Sorry for hijacking this thread but I saw the discussion about DU

I have not while using DU. I only found a solution by using the dial number. I use straight talk, while having a Verizon number and data service. I'll give that a shot thank you for telling me! :good:
