No turn by turn via Bluetooth using Chrysler's uconnect - Nexus 6P Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this? Music plays just fine with Pandora, but Google maps turn by turn doesn't play at all. I verified, and voice is not muted in Maps. I also verified all the volumes were up. This is a rental, so I can't just run up to the dealer.

i have uconnect and it works for me. but i hate to listen to her so i keep her muted.

any step by step by instructions to do this? mine doesn't work either? using a Samsung Galaxy A8 running Android 6.0.1.

[Q] When Bluetooth connects to my car, Google Music automatically starts playing...

I have my N4 Bluetooth set up to my car. When I start my car, and Bluetooth kicks in, Google Music automatically starts playing songs. I don't listen to music via Bluetooth, but my device is sending the signal, evidently. I've tried to find a way to keep Google Music from automatically doing this when Bluetooth connects, but cannot find anything. Any ideas?

I'm looking for a way to make mine do what yours is doing. I'm on a Galaxy Nexus running Android 4.2.2 and just want my music to start automatically when I get into my car instead of having to unlock phone, fire up google music, and hit shuffle all every time I get in. There are a couple apps that will launch Play Music but the music doesn't start playing. I need to try hitting NEXT on my car stereo and see if it makes it start playing.
I used to get ambushed with music automatically starting a couple of phones ago so I wound up using Tasker to simulate media button presses.
That sorted it for me and may be worth a try for both of you.
I think it's dependent upon your car. I've got Ford with Sync and buried somewhere in the menus is a bluetooth "autoplay" option - try disabling that (or enabling... depending on what you're looking for, of course)
My N4 does this in my Mazda 3. I absolutely HATE it. Any luck on a solution?
Like previous poster said, disable autoplay feature in car's bluetooth settings
I don't have that option on my car.

This is not true. I have this happen with my Nexus 4 on stock 4.3 in THREE separate cars.
Is there seriously no solution to this? Does anybody even have any idea what causes this problem?
For me, its Fusion music player. But if I uninstall that, then it defaults to Google Music.

[Q] S5, Bluetooth, Google Play, and Headaches

So I just got a Galaxy S5. In my 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee I have a Pioneer MVH-X360BT. Before I got the S5 I had an S4. Zero issues. Now with the S5, whenever I am listening to music (via Google Play Music) in my car with the Bluetooth, my steering wheel volume/station control buttons become reversed or don't at all. I tried listening to music with the Samsung media player with no issues... Great but I don't want to use any other radio service or media player app.
Anyone have any ideas or experience a similar issue? Thanks.
Ive used google music in my car via Bluetooth with no problem. Phone connects instantly when i start the car, no skipping or anything... Volume on my steering wheel works perfectly both for volume and skipping tracks...

Just uninstalled the updates for Google Play Music and that seems to have fixed the issue. :/ Hmmmmmm
Ugh!
Scratch that. Downgrading the app version didn't help. Turns out what triggers the mix up of my steering wheel buttons is any manipulation of the phone while using the bluetooth. If I don't touch the phone its fine. Contacted Pioneer about the issue. It'll probably be 6 months before I hear back from them... Help? D:

Google Maps voice via Bluetooth in car audio system possible?

Hello folks, maybe someone knows the trick...
I recently installed xXx No Limit ROM on my S5. It works pretty fine and I also use the Bluetooth connection for my car audio system (Columbus in a Skoda car).
Hands-free talking works and also media is played well. All options for BT connection are enabled but when using Bluetooth output for Google Maps voice there is nothing to hear. The phone keeps silent and so does the car audio system. Is there a way to get this to work? As mentioned, media is played well and all available options are turned on (in phone and car setup). I really would love to hear Mrs. Google via car loudspeakers

I would check to make sure that you have more than just your media audio volume turned up. IE system, notifications, etc. I think that the volume from google maps isn't considered "media" when controlling the volume levels.

Yes, I did that, too. Still muted
Can you hear it when your Bluetooth is turned off?
yes, but i need to deactivate bt Output in maps first.
Sounds like a google maps problem. Can you clear cache and data then uninstall it? After that I would say restart your phone, reinstall google maps, restart again, then see if it works.

Just checking up to see if your problem has been fixed.

Anyone else having issues w/ bluetooth not providing media audio option?

Have this issue w/ the S7, note7 and now this s8+. The S5, S6 works, note5, etc. Exact same results with the phones that do not work.
In my other cars it works fine so I know its my Kia but I don't have any idea how I can rectify this. Called the tech at Kia and he said they've not tested the note 7 and may never as the car is a few years old so It looks like I'm on my own here. On my 2013 Kia optima w/ navi I do not get media audio so only BT that works is the phone. It will show the first song sometimes on pandora (Streaming audio, NOT pandora app radio) but never will update after that. All audio always comes from phone speaker. I can change songs from the stereo but that's it. Totally useless. Works fine in my other cars and my BT radio in my garage so it's a problem w/ my Kia but WTF?? My note 3, note 5 and S6 work just fine. Very disappointing. My wife is running android 6.x on her s6 and it works so it is not that.
I had a ticket into google on this for my note7 but they blamed samsung saying the ROM is fully customized by samsung. Samsung says it's googles issue.
Anyone else have this issue? Any suggested fixes?
Yes, I had this issue! When I got my S8 yesterday it would connect for phone and the third(?) option, but not for the media option. Your car might be the issue though, if none of those phones work. Mine did show three options: phone, media en another one.
Well: during the car ride I noticed there was an update for 'Samsung Connect' so I downloaded that. After that update still no joy. I then proceeded into work, obviously disconnecting the bluetooth connection. Once I got back in my car at the end of the day the connection magically worked. So it might be one of a few things:
1. Update Samsung Connect (if you can)
2. Disable bluetooth
3. Remove bluetooth paired device
4. Turn off car and restart phone
5. Try again
I`m about to head out for work again so I`ll see whether mine still works or not.

Yeah so there's prolly something else wrong, as mine did show the media option. Sorry
Yeah it occurs on all 2011-2013 kia/hyundais w/ navigation and i'm sure other cars as well. Nobody wants to fix it and basically it keeps me from even using this phone.

I have the same issue. I have a 2012 of the same car, Navigation with Infinity speakers. This is not the UVO head unit. I can connect for phone calls and contacts, but all media plays through the phone. I can see the first item from the music app, and can only skip to next song (I haven't tried previous song as I am only streaming). It does not pause though. All audio keeps coming through the phone no matter what.
I've enabled/disabled streaming on the car. I've reset the radio/head unit. I've reset the Bluetooth on the car. I've unpaired from the car side and phone side. I've tried various combinations of these things. None has fixed it. I've mentioned the problem in forums here:

Try the bluetooth app called bluetooth auto connect. I can not connect w/ my car on my s8 and s7.
Dave
I think it is samsung software. I paired it with a pioneer avic head unit for a trip 8 hours away to deliver the car to my friend. When first paired, it worked fine. Most of the time no issues. But for some reason after one of the rest stops (turned car off) I ran into that issue. When you go into BT settings in the phone, the media option was grayed out.
Only way to fix it was to forget the device, and repair it. It happened a few times on the way over.
Now that my friend has the car, he has no issues and streams with his Moto Z.
I have another issue with my car. The phone connects to Bluetooth but I can't navigate thought my music folder within the car system. Previously I had no issue with S7 edge and iPhone 7 plus. This is driving me crazy considering that Android auto just sucks with music playback. Most of the time audio apps I use (Spotify / Google play music) seems to do not work properly.

I need to toggle off and on the bluetooth 2-3 times for it to connect to media audio. Call audio goes on every time, it is a pain to connect this way every time. It worked perfectly until the first Nougat update.
That certainly isn't the case for kia/hyundais and a few other cars produced around 2011-2014. What make/model is your car?
Did you resolve this? I think I might have seen your post in the samsung forums. I have a 2013 Optima with Nav and having the exact same issue. I've done everything in the samsung forums to no effect. TIA.

Yes, bluetooth auto connect
I have the same issue with a Civic. With S2, it paired fine, but contacts only synced like 200 of them. Music info displayed.
With S8, imports all contacts fine, syncs music fine, but no music metadata. I would like to see artist name, track and album on screen.
All apps I have tried do not work
My issue with the S8+ is that I cannot get my AppRadio 3 microphone to issue voice commands despite having all the correct settings for Google as near as I can figure. The head unit works fine on my LG G3. I cannot for the life of me figure out what the problem is. It's destroying the phone's usability.
Old thread but I was having the same issue and found a fix that's been working pretty reliably for me so I wanted to reply in case I can help anyone here.
I was having the problem with my g6 and Hyundai. Phone connects to call audio fine but media audio won't play through the car, I can see the song that's playing and even use steering wheel controls to change it but sound comes out of phone.
What I did. Disconnect from the car, connect to another Bluetooth speaker and play music through it. Connect to the cars Bluetooth and you should get a notification asking what device you want to play audio on, pick the car. Should work for about two weeks and then you'll have to repeat the process.
Hope this works for you guys as well.

I think Google has some things to fix with BT. Hopefully it is fixed in Oreo and above.

Google Maps navigation Sounds

I'm not sure if this is a G6 problem, and Android 7 problem or a Google Maps problem, but my G6 will only play navigation sounds via my car speakers if it is connected via Bluetooth.
If I'm using my phone to play music in the car, and navigate somewhere, I want the turn notifications to be played out of the phone speakers so the music doesn't pause or dip or get interrupted. This was never an issue on any other Android phone I've owned - I could go into the settings in Google Maps and disable "Play voice over Bluetooth" so that the navigations directions did exactly that.
That option isn't available on my G6 though. I can disable the voice during phone calls, but nothing else.
How can I get this back to how it was on my old phone?
Thanks
