Hi all. New Edge + today and in trouble.
Installed Philz recovery via Odin, tried to flash Arter kernel - installation failed - and SU, bootloop. Can get to recovery, restore stock backup - bootloop. Download - fail on installing Arter kernel. Reboot - stuck on splashscreen.
I'm stuck. Flashed 100s of Samsung stuff before but this one is a doozy. (coming from note 3).
Reflashed recovery, tried TWRP, can't retry downloading kernel because I can't get a startup and hence cannot get a new kernel on device. Wiped cache etc, nothing.
Not in full panic mode (me, not dead phone) yet but nearing it. Thanks for any help. 928f, Scandinavian firmware.
sounds like you left knox enabled and OEM unlocked off.
Not sure if it helps but flashing the stock firmware "might" help? samfirmware - search for your model and give that a go.
Hi seven. No. Did my homework, know the no-nos. Been dling stock for 1 hour, 58 minutes to go.
Baffled as to why my stock backup won't play nicely.
Update - I only have download or recovery, can't reboot to normal. Can't flash anything, backup still doesn't work.
Bugger. And indeed ****. Hope stock works.
hey man, thats a pity then
hope it works!

There are only two things which can cause issues that you are having.
#1. You did not Odin flash the correct firmware for your phone's specific model.
#2. You did not flash the correct arter97 kernel for your phone's specific model.
Good luck,
Have a very Merry Christmas.

Flashed stock from samfirmware (same FW as my preinstalled stock), TWRP instead of Philz, Audax ROM then Arter kernel - all fine now. Baffled but relieved. Rooted, happy and love this phone.

#1. I didn't flash any firmware. As I clearly said, I couldn't and didn't before reinstalling stock. And since the stock is the one that came with my phone, how do you conclude that it's the wrong FW?
#2. I did.
I'm not a noob. Been flashing Sammy devices since the S1. Don't tell me what I did or didn't do. Your name seems apt. Lay off the drugs if your reading and comprehension skills are so woeful.

I flashed a rom to my sm-g928p and am stuck in the splash bootup too, i'm able to flash as much as i want but nothing ever gets through. when i go back to stock it gives me an E: failed to mount /efs (invalid argument) along with dm-verity verification failed.....i dont know what to do...!!!!!
@frankmcquade - I'd start a new thread for your problem, it's different to mine and you'll probably get more help.
I never had the efs message and my bootloops were with flashing recovery, not a ROM. Good luck!

So I downloaded the latest UK firmware (MH8) from Sammobile and flashed using Odin, all went well and Odin passed and phone rebooted.
However now it just sits on Samsung logo FOREVER! I have reflashed firmware 3 times (every time it passes in Odin but still wont boot up)
I tried to reflash older firmware but that fails in Odin on bootloader section.
So I thought, all good I'll just flash Philz and restore my backup but now philz cant unmount System and I can't restore anything or even wipe system.
I'm pretty stuck it seems.
Does anyone have any ideas to help please
Flash mh8 in odin. Then boot into the stock recovery and do a factory reset.
I tried that 3 times but just tried it again and for some reason the 4th time it worked!!!
Still cant restore my old back up in Philz recovery for some reason.
Keeps failing on mounting system. Damn.
looks like I'm stuck on a stock ROM for the time being

Yep, that's the theory at the moment but if you go here - https://plus.google.com/+Chainfire/posts/5ggu7naWtaW
you should be able to re-root the phone.. Not sure if I'd try to flash a new rom just yet but at least you should get back root...
All reports are you can't flash an older version through ODIN because of the new bootloader...
Thanks again Chainfire...

Yeah at least we can root it now.
Still keeping my fingers crossed that someone will find a way to unlock the System partition.
I wish I'd never updated now, Samsung should of warned us that if we do this we pretty much lock down our phone

Hi, all
I have an S4, the I9505. I wanted to install a new KitKat-rom, the I9505_-_Official_Google_Edition_4.4.2_by_Jamal2367_Final-R1.2.
Then I wiped the device (I'm using CWM philz_touch_6.09.6-jfltexx.tar) but when installing the ROM, I get a weird '7'-error,
I forgot the real error.
Anyways: I thought: forget it and let's go back to stock.
So I rebooted in recovery, wiped/factory reset my s4 and rebooted. But it just comes back in Recovery?
What's wrong?
So then I thought: let's ODIN a factory-ROM, which I can download from SAMFIRMWARE.COM but since the file is
bigger than 1Gb I need to pay. Well, I don't care about the 5 euro's but I don't want to leave my creditcard stuff behind.
Any other options??
Thanks!

Thanks, but ... your link wad dead. Did some searching, saw a newer version (6.13.1 from Feb 6).
Installed that without issues.
Booted in recovery, factory reset + davlik , installed the ZIP.
Same error: Status 7.
Or should I have used only the version you mentioned?

When i was clickin the file i gave you, it works tho but Yea feel free to download that version 6.09.2 and you should be fine flashing any custom rom.
Because of this error, yes, it won't boot to system. Been there. You should've made a backup. I just restored it and voila.
That error "status 7" seems to be the problem with Philz recovery, when I switched to TWRP I was able to flash any rom no problems.

Hm, thanks again, I think there's much more going on.
I downloaded a 4.3 STOCK-rom, and in download-mode I was able to get a working phone again.
That is: apparently everything works BUT I cannot enable WIFI.
I saw another thread on that for a different phone.
But ... this is a phone from my employer ... I now have the KNOX Waranty VoId set to 0x1
I guess this is the reason for not being able to switch on WIFI ...
If I try to switch on wifi I get a security notice:
'your device's security has blocked an action that is not permitted. No further action is required'
If I pres on App-info, it comes out of KNOX ...
I guess this is also the reason for the Status-7 error ....
SOLVED!
When i was looking for the factory-ROM I ended at SamMobile. According to that page I 'landed' on, the latest factory-ROM for the I9505
was for 'Montenegro'.
I then downloaded the one specific for the Netherlands (where I live) and used ODON directly on top of the Montenegro-version,
no factory-reset.
After booting, WiFi was back aain, message about KNOX is gone. It's even rooted again, so it all works.
Yes, I still have the KNOX warranty Void 0x1 but I can access corporate e-mails so good to go.
Pfew ...
So.. hello.
Normally I don't come to forums to get help... but yeah. This is kinda bad.
I've got a little situation here.
I got my new Samsung Galaxy Note 4 (SM-N910F).
It was delivered with Stock 5.1.1.
First try:
I booted to the Downloader, fired up Odin, let it download the Autoroot.
Then I've got a bootloop.
Second try:
Booted into the Downloader, fired up Odin, let it install the 5.0.1 Stock ROM (Ending with 'BOB4')
It booted normally , then two things pop up constantly:
Something like "phone.xxxxxxxx.xxx Service crashed".
and "NFC crashed."
So I can't even unlock that phone.
Third try:
Booted into the Downloader, fired up Odin, let it install "N910FXXU1COI3_DevBase_alexndr".
Ended up in a Bootloop.
Then I tried to install the Bootloader aswell as the Modem and the Kernel, which are also in alexndr's Thread.
Ended up in the same Situation as the second try.
I don't no what to do anymore.
I'd really love to hear some help from you guys.
Greetings,
R3dRacoon
// Edit:
// It is a German Device from Telekom.

The third attempt was incorrect, that file is to be flashed from a custom recovery.
The second try might be because you did a dirty flash (Need to wipe data)
The first attempt boot-looped because in order to root in 5.1.1 you need a rootable kernel and the latest SuperSU (Not CF-Auto root)(Kernel is found in the Android Development thread)

Thanks for the response.
What can I do to get a correct working System back? (Theoretically, I got time and bandwidth.)
Since flashing the Stock ROM did not quiet work.

KNOX Flag is already 0x1. Means varranty is void, isn't it?
So I don't think they will help me.

I've already tried to flash TWRP via Odin, but I've never seen it.
Flashed recovery was for trltexx.
Getting to Recovery should be the same as getting to Download Mode, or?
Anyways. Will try it with tbltetmo and report back.
// Just installed the tbltetmo.
// Can't see how to get into the recovery.
// Am I missing something?
Update:
Just signed up at sammobile and downloaded the BOB6 (4.4 i think) for T-Mobile.
Flashed via Odin.
Seems like it does work again.
Currently its installing like 260 Apps.
Let's see.
// Edit: Nah. It got even worse.
// But I got a Recovery. So that's something.
IT ****ING WORKS NOW
Went into the recovery and cleared cache and data. (Kinda stupid I did not do it inb4)
Do a clean install in Odin. Since it came with stock android 5.1.1, then flash the 5.1.1 stock firmware in Odin. If you have a locked device of a specific carrier it will be even better to use the firmware made for that carrier only. And check the "Nand erase all" option in odin before hitting the start button to flash. That will erase all the data from ur phone and will do a clean install. Your phone must then boot normally. Also note that android 5.0 root file may not work for 5.1. Also check the model number before flashing.
Hey guys so recently needed to revert my note 4 to stock mode. Somewhere something went wrong and i bricked my device. I was able to get it in to download mode but Odin keeps failing. Prob because my device keeps saying kernel is not Seandroid enforcing. So this went on for a few days. I even tried twrp zip files still fails to flash. The only thing i was able to do .... found someone else's twrp back up file and used it as mine and voila, it worked the prob is that that file was from another note 4 model. So. Its running but keeps rebooting and restarting and freezing.
So if anyone out there with T-mobile stock or other phone can make me a twrp back up file and send it to me or upload it somewhere so i can use it as my own . Thanks everyone
Also i there a way to mount phones had to a computer, wipe everything and reinstall everything from kernel to system to recovery to OS. Cause my phone wont except anything except twrp back up files . Thanks again
Have you tried to flash a stock rom from sammobile.com?

I'm a little confused about the title of your thread. The model number for the T-Mobile Note 3 is N900T. You're posting in the wrong section if you truly have the N910T, which is indeed the Note 4.
But anyway Lol, the "seandroid" message is normal for a phone that's rooted and has a custom kernel flashed. It just means the built in security enhancement isn't being enforced. That wouldn't cause Odin to fail while trying to flash a recovery.
If you're still having issues, your best bet would be to flash the full stock firmware with Odin and start over. It will flash the full system, kernel, and recovery. Here is a link to what you need. It's N910TUVU2DOK2 and is the latest 5.1.1 build.

Sorry for the typo. I do have note 4 n910t as i said before odin fails every single time. Tried reinstalling isb drivers, changing usb slots and cable. Twrp failes to write zip file. The only thing i can do is back up and restore using twrp. Thats why was hoping someone has or make me a twrp back up file of a n910t.
HI, I have tried to root my S5 900I but failed badly, have done other phones in the past but somehow stuffed this.
The phone is stuck on downloading screen and cannot do normal boot.
I Started with flashing "recovery.tar.md5" 1st which passed in Odin but phone stuck on downloading screen, then I went into recovery and tried reset and flash CF Auto Root but still not working.
Then flashed twrp.kit.tar and still no normal boot but I can get into recovery Team Win, have tried numerous wipes and installing more CF Auto Root's and also tried flashing Miui Rom.
I believe I have screwed up the stock rom and don't know what to do next.
appreciate any help

Same happened to my wife's Galaxy Grand Prime months ago; stuck at downloading mode after rooting and installing TWRP recovery. The problem was with the version of TWRP recovery I was installing. Looks like I was installing the wrong one (although the website I downloaded it from states that it's the correct one for the device model). I tried different versions from different websites and was about to wipe everything and flash the stock rom but finally I got the correct one and that fixed the problem. Hope that helps.
