I found this while searching on google. I take no credit for this, but am posting it here so that you can use it too.
Basically it enables airplane mode and disables it at boot. It doesn't add any time to boot, because it coincides with the Media Scanning.
All you do is install it and forget about it.
Anyway, heres the link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=938677
Ignore that it says 2.1 only... Works just fine on my ROM.
Sent from my Captivate
Thanks.

I actually had this installed for a couple weeks now. Phone boots and then goes into airplane mode. I did love the one time where my phone booted up, I got a phone call right and forgot about the airplane mode and it kicked me off the call!
It won't download to my phone and I'm stuck at work. Can anybody upload it here or post a drop box link for me? Thanks!
Edit: Forgot I can use Astro for the download.
Mike, what do you think of this explanation and fix? It is interesting to read there why this happens, if nothing else. I look forward to your ROM fix tonight!
I actually have 2 tasker events setup that takes care of this nearly transparently. On device shutdown tasker sets airplane mode and clears it on boot.
I just have to do it manually if I get some kind of random reboot or sleep/charge death.

It might be a problem if you turn off GSM on an at&t phone.

ok and what is your percentage ?
I only realized this was an issue sometime last week and when I checked it was 50%.
Toggle airplane mode and within 10 mins it dropped to 38% and then went down to 17% a few hours later. But since then everytime I unplug or reboot I toggle airplane mode and most days it's at 0% ~ 5%

If I catch it right away it will go down to 0 by days end. If not and I catch it later it varies.
thanks for the link! i'm just curious though, is there any reason why this signal bug hasn't been addressed at the ROM level? from my brief searching it seems like it occurs on most devices.

I think including the apk in future ROMs seems a definite possibility as this fix released very recently.
Has anyone had an issue with their A500 shutting down randomly when its sleeping. Is there a fix for it?
I have the same problem, but still no solution.
My A500 also wakes up randomly to to the lockscreen when it is in sleepmode.

Nope. Havent touched that at all due to others saying its a risk towards the A500.
I was having this problem too, stock rom. Per a thread on androidcentral, I turned off GPS sats, for last-night, and woke up to a perfectly functioning tablet today. Don't really know if that's "the" solution, but it seemed to work for me.
My a500 has been fixed for 3 days now after I uninstalled a taskmanager/killer which a lot of people think are evil. It has also cured the random sake up problem too
Same problem here....

I have got this problem too, any one know the solution?
Stock 3.1 w/root and see that problem also. Sometimes works for days no problem, other times I pick it up and it has shut down. In time I will find the combination that causes it. Later
Same issue here...Leave it on "standby" overnight and it's not on in the morning when I go to pick up where I left off.
Rooted, HC 3.1 on ROM Virtuous Picasso v.1.1.0

Is a Skype bug just wait update
I don't get it, sometimes when I press play it pauses a second after.
Sometimes its random while I'm listening to music on the bus. I'm trying to figure out a solution but so far I'm still puzzled.

Have you wiped data on YouTube and disabled it with updates uninstalled and then enabling with updating? Try that.
I'm looking for suggestions for figuring out the cause.
I'm not rooted.
I tried clearing cache in recovery.
The wakelock exists even in airplane mode.
The wakelock goes away after a reboot, but reemerges at some point.
Any ideas on what to try or where to go from here?
Thanks.

I had to use a Magisk module to make BBS a system app to get it to work in Oreo. Even with root priveledges it wasn't collecting any data.

I'm not either, but with an ADB command you can grant permission for battery stats anyway.
It's a kernel wakelock. I'm not sure where to go from here. What's the best place to reach out to OnePlus, to have this fixed?
I suddenly face the same issue..
By the way, did you guys wipe data before/after installing beta oreo ota? I did not

Me neither.
Some people in the Oreo Beta thread seem to think that its a Bluetooth wake lock and that if you turn off Bluetooth and then reboot your phone it goes away.
I had a wake lock problem before I figured out how to get BBS to work but it went away after a couple days. I'm not using the stock kernel though--I'm using Lightning Kernel which blocks some wakelocks automatically and allows you to block others using the ElementalEx kernel control app.

This could be a valid point. I use Bluetooth quite often. Do you use Bluetooth a lot?

Theres ppl claiming you need to actually boot with bluetooth disabled. Not just switching to airplane.mode but actually starting your phone without bluetooth. Have you tried this?

I use Bluetooth a lot and I'm not having that wakelock problem but the kernel I'm using might be blocking it. Several people have said if you turn of Bluetooth and then reboot your phone the wakelock goes away. It's definitely worth trying.
I ended up going back to nougat. This wakelock was killing my battery life. Going to report the bug now.
edit: reported. See: https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/wakelock-after-using-bluetooth-devices.704688/ follow/reply would be great!
More and more people seem to have these problems:
https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/wakelock-after-using-bluetooth-devices.704688/
And in general: https://forums.oneplus.net/feedback/?node_id=243
Can anyone confirm if this bug still occurs on the stable version or on open beta 3?
