I have a problem restoring my backups. All my recent TWRP backups get stuck in bootloop when I try to restore them. Is there any remedy fopr that?
I'm currently on v 2.7.1.0
Upgrade your version of TWRP. Current on twrp.me is 2.8.7.0, but in the forums here you can find version 2.8.7.2 by @AntaresOne, with F2FS support.

I created the .tar file to flash TWRP 2.8.7.0 for the GT-I9505 via ODIN. Download it: HERE.
Thanks guys!
Will I be able to use my old backups with the new version?
Yes. If you still have issues, the backups are likely corrupt, for reasons unknown.

I made a backup of my stock rom on my fido i747 before installing cm11. I made the backup using twrp but now that I installed cm11 twrp was removed and I'm now running clockwork mod. What's the easiest way to go about restoring my twrp backup? I'm guessing I just need to reinstall twrp and restore my previous backup...
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The way twrp and cwm create the back up files are different so either u need to re-install twrp or make another back up using cwm...... hope this help
Swyped from MK2 Dark Venomous X1
Google i337 twrp zip xda and flash that in cwm. It'll replace cwm with twrp.
Alright so I tried installing TWRP via goo manager. I downloaded the app and installed the openrecoveryscript. It shows that it's installed, yet whenever I tried and reboot into recovery it still boots into clockwork... I have gone as far as trying to delete Rom Manager app from my phone and I tried installing the openrecoveryscript again. Any suggestions on how I should go about fixing this. I`m currently running 11.0-installerXNPQ02R.
As the title states when I perform a nandroid backup with TWRP 3.0.2-1 it gets stuck at 101% and I have to hard reset the phone.
I'm running ressurection with android 6.0.1
Have you tried using older version of TWRP?

I used TWRP manager and it worked, it took about an hour but it worked.
I wasn't working from within the recovery for some reason.
My rooted Axon 7 (A2017U) does not show the boot partition in TWRP when backing up or restoring a backup that previously showed the boot partition. Here is what I did prior to the problem:
1. Manually updated stock rom to B32 using DrakenFX procedures, which includes flashing bootstack. (I made a backup after the upgrade of boot, data, and system - as usual.)
2. When I restored AICP nandroid, boot was shown along with data and system. Phone operated normally, but would not flash OTA upgrade - error 7. (Attempted to flash a previous version that I had flashed before with the same error 7.)
3. Rather than unzipping the rom and deleting the asserts line, I flashed the universal boot image from LineageOS and was able to OTA without issue, but when I ran the TWRP backup, boot did not show and only system and data backed up.
4. Restored the stock nandroid, boot did not show.
My phone is operating normally, but I find it disconcerting to have made an unintended change and would appreciate any help in correcting my error.
Thanks in advance.

No, still waiting for assistance.
Reflash TWRP. I had partitions missing and there was a weird version of TWRP installed for unknown reasons. Reflashing the latest TWRP fixed my problem.

That worked. Thank you very much. Weird how that happened.
Just as a matter of interest, I just did a clean install of AICP, which required installation of universal bootstack, and found that TWRP version had been replaced with an old version that did not show boot partition when doing nandroid. Reflashed current build image and boot file was visible.
Keep the latest .img on TWRP, and when you flash the universal bootstack, flash the TWRP .img after. I've asked over at the LOS thread if they could update the TWRP version on the bootstack and nobody answered lol
Should we use the one from twrps official website? I'm having the same issue but I can't remember changing my recovery.

You don't change your recovery, the universal bootstack zip does
It's the same whether you use the zip from TWRP's official website or raystef66's download center really
After reading up and being waived off the Official TWRP I originally used the open source (which I cant find on my phone or desktop) TWRP for my recovery.
I've been playing around with different ROMS on my Oneplus5 and ran into a TWRP loop after restoring from one ROM to another. It was suggested, and I followed the advice, to flash the Official TWRP and no more TWRP loop.
A week or so later, trying to restore from the Resurrection ROM to xXx ROM and I'm back in a TWRP boot loop.
I've tried different wipes before restoring and still looped.
Tried flashing this version of TWRP to recovery https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-5/development/twrp-oneplus-5-wip-t3626134 and it was no help.
Any suggestions?
Try flashing no verity op5.zip
I don't think official TWRP can restore backups that include system data on the OP5 without going into a bootloop. Blu Spark TWRP works much better. I've never gotten a boot loop restoring any backup I made with that version of TWRP.

Thanks, it was getting a bit frustrating and before your solutions posted, in the interim I used Method 2 from here:https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-5/how-to/guide-fix-twrp-recovery-script-loop-t3649727 loading the stock bootloader wiped my device clean (all pics, my files, my TB folder gone) but I was able to load a ROM and boot (I hate Goggle, they can f up just about anything, but that god for their backup/restore, it got me up and running from scratch quickly ). I will give the blu spark a shot and @ se7ensde take a look at your suggestion.
It is a shame that TWRP restore is such a problem, and a random one at that. I have restored from ROM to ROM to compare them without an incident until....

Install TWRP 3.1.1-0 and then restore your backup - worked for me! On 3.2 are errors while flashing or restore a backup - hope it will be fixed soon.

Yes, you dont need to reflash you phone - flash twrp 3.1.1-0 via image install in twrp and reboot recover, then you're on 3.1.1-0

You're right, TWRP 3.20 was buggy, downgrade went well, backup, restore everything is working fine now.
Thx again
