My S4 has MK6 (resulted from the 4.3 update OTA as I pulled it out of the box), rooted and TWRP installed.
Currently running Skyfall 4.4.2 ROM. Battery life seems HORRIBLE and the vibration is VERY week (with each ROM i've tried).
Also running the Zerolemon 7500mah Battery that doesn't seem to fully charge, but drains quickly.
The question is that if I take 4.4.2 from samsung mobile's site and load via Odin, will it lock up the phone from being rooted and
installing custom recovery again?
So far, I"m unhappy with the S4..... but it's my own fault for rooting and testing ROMs, I suppose..... but that's all I ever did with my
S3 with very positive results.
Suggestions and help guys???
Thanks

The sammobile may change your bootloader, if you stay on 4.3 your bootloader will stay MK6 which means you can use a 4.4.2 rom or 4.3 rom, if you update the bootloader to NC1 you will only be able to load 4.4.2 roms. You don't mention what baseband your on so I will assume it is MK6. You may see some battery improvement going to NC1 modem (flashed through odin PC ... twice.. you will see in the instructions) I am sure there are some near stock roms out there for 4.4.2 ... Mapleleaf is close to stock. As for battery life, it depends on what you have running on the phone. I can get 2 days on mine if I don't fool around too much. urrently 2 days 4 hours 37 minutes, screen on time 1 hour 23 minutes... 40% left... I turn off all data after 10pm and don't have gps running. You can check what is using the battery with wake lock detector, maybe you have a something that is not allowing the phone to go to deep sleep.
Thank you! Valuable info! Yes, baseband is MK6...... I'll try loading the 4.4.2 from sammboile and see what happens.........
Will post results.
Any suggestions on other ROMs for our Canadian S4? I like TW ... Can't stand the look of AOSP

Try Mapleleaf .. its 4.4.2 tw pretty much stock except the kernel I have been running it for over a month now, no reboots or issues.... probably want to update your baseband to NC1, won't affect your bootloader, just modem. It is important to follow the instructions with PC odin (take off auto reboot flag) and wait for it to finish. I flashed it twice as the instructions suggest doing so.
I have rooted my phone and flashed the latest 4.4.3 Pure Nexus GPE by Danvdh, Kryten2k35 and Ktoonsez. And it's been charging for so long, like 9 hours to fully charge from 14% battery. This has happened to my i9505 since I rooted it and installed custom ROMs, all GPE. What should I do? What is the problem? Please help
same here
Hi I have the same problem with my i9505, I got it second hand with 4.2.2 stock if I remeber correctly, I dont know if it was previously rooted but I flashed the latest stable version of Cyanogenmod 11 4.4.4 on it, then tried 2 different stock firmwares (current is stock I9505XXUGNG8) and that didnt change nothing. I charged it with a black Samsung charger 2.0A then tried an 2.1A ipad charger, I bought a new U2 Samsung microusb data cable. Still 8 to 9 hours for a full charge.
Did you find a solution to the problem?
Download ktweaker for your phone and install it/zip it. There you can change to fast charging. My phone charges now really fast. But beware that it can cause a short life time of the battery
Ps. Sry for my bad englisch

Its not bricked.
If it's A UK device then download aUK firmware from Sam mobile and flash in odin. Then you'll be good to go.

You need to odin flash the firmware even if it takes you 10hrs. to download it because
there is no other way to get your phone working properly and running like new.
Also if your knox is tripped there is NO way to "un-trip" it, it will stay tripped regardless
of which firmware you flash.
If the firmware was UK then you need to download UK firmware from sammobile or you
can find and download it from Updato. Here is a link to "Updato":
http://updato.com/firmware-archive-select-model
It doesn't matter if you flash Marshmallow 6 or Nougat 7 firmware, that's a personal choice.
Good luck, have a great day!
ohk thanks but my question remains regarding battery, its not switiching off , should i keep it pluged into the charger while i download or even if battery dies i can plug into pc and flash firmware later, and also it was factory unlocked phone as per seller there are many versions of uk like vodafone etc etc.

It does not matter, you can always charge the battery anytime
you like, if you cannot turn the phone off just let the battery
drain and then before odin flashing firmware charge the
phone for about an hour.
Good luck,
