Device is rooted. Rom stock 5.0.
My goal is update device to last marshmallow rom. Trying to update via ota, it downloads starts to update and drop's with error( Try with unroot(from super su app) before result is same.

So, I cant seem to be able to connect my G2 to the PC via USB cable. I get "usb device not recognized" error, and when looking for the device via LGPC Suite, it says driver not installed and attempts to re-install the driver to no avail. Im using Win 7 64 bit. Here's what Ive done to attempt to fix it:
Tried uninstalling and reinstalling both the driver and LGPC Suite in my normal user account and in admin admin account.
Redownloaded both driver and LGPC Suite and doing the above.
Tried 3 different USB cables.
Tried 2 different USB ports.
Yes, Im changing the connection options on the phone from MTP and LG Software.
Phone charges normally over USB.
I *can* however connect to LGPC Suite via wifi successfully.
Any ideas? Im stumped.

Sorry for bumping old thread, but have you found a solution? I found my self in exactly same situation as you describe.
Phone is in LG Software mode
LG Suite can find the phone over Wi-fi, other modes work through USB.
Tried on two different computers, with win7/win8 respectively.
Stock EU ROM, just bought it.
Tried different USB ports.
Yet PC doesn't recognize it :/
EDIT: Never mind, solved it by following the following instructions in another thread:

You must be on 64 bit windows. Not even on 64bit, Still try this...
1) Uninstall LG Drivers, LG PC Suite and anything you see named LG. Restart PC.
2) Install latest LG Driver from this post (step 4)
3) Install Optional MTP Driver from this post (step 4)
4) Open Windows Device Manager (just to watch whats happening.)
5) Disconnect Internet (To avoid stupid online WDM drivers)
6) Connect phone with Usb and let drivers install automatically. Give it some time to install drivers keeping watch on Device Manager window.
7) Keep changing USB connect modes to all modes one-by-one on Phone and let drivers install.
You should see MTP drivers installed now. If this does not help, cant think of anything else. If this works, press THANKS button
EDIT: Connect USB at backside of pc, directly to USB on pc motherboard.

my issue is that it can not be regognized by the windows
i have tried at my desktop with win 10 and at my laptop with windows 7 and at both says unknown device,
i have tried everything i know of
unistall everything from the pc regarding samsung drivers
install it again , nothing
install smart switch , nothing
install kies, nothing
run odin , not even see the phone at download mode
made factory reset from recovery , nothing
charge is working just fine both from pc and my wall charger
i tried mhl hdmi and nothing happened
tried just now otg cable with a usb drive , again nothing
just a week ago i was using it just fine with my pc
should i take it to a store to check my micro usb port??
noone??
today i replaced the screen with a new one witch had a new usb dock on it and the problem is still here
i can not connect it to any pc.
i cann't flash the stock rom because odin is not see it also
is it possible to be a rom problem????
i can't flash the stock one because of the usb issue
but i think i can download another lollipop rom to give it a try.
Have you made sure that it is set as MTP?
Setting - Storage - USB.
Check if the device gets connected in Fastboot mode. If it doesn't then it would be your USB.
sideload is not working either
usb is brand new and original.
is there a way to flash stock rom via recovery?
Hi, I tried to search in Help Forum about my issue, but did not get a thread on the same.
hence starting a new topic, please help me.
My phone doesn't get recognized on PC or Laptop via usb. So I need to root it via app or any method used with Phone.
If there is any, let me know.
I tried KingRoot and Root Zenfone app, didnt worked.
AFAIK, you can't do that. You need to use computer to root it. Is your usb port damaged? Try clean it up first. Or sometimes it could be just Windows driver issue.

Try to reinstall drivers, or you can install Asus PCLink (that automatically installs Intel USB drivers).

Did you tried plugging in to another computer to see if it works? Try using different cable that certified for data transfer. Make sure you check "mtp" as your preferred connection method. If computer still says "USB device not recognized", probably your phone usb port might have broken solder connection.

I guess that might be hardware issue as you already installed Asus PCLink on your computer. Did you already tried fastboot mode? Try going into droidboot menu and plug your phone. If it shows up in device manager, then you are all good.
However if it does not work, and if you have a good eyes and basic soldering skill, you might want to disassemble your phone and inspect the USB port solder connections. You might have to replace the bottom board too if you accidentally fried any caps on it.
You can't root your zen5 without pc......
There are 2 methods

Hey sandy, first check your Android Version. If it is 4.3 or lower then you can root without pc. But if you have an android version higher than that then you will need a pc.
To root without pc:
You can do a simple search on youtube as I already upgraded my Android Version
To root with pc:
Use a reliable tutorial I myself used on youtube:
As I am a new member i cannot give the link but the name of the youtuber is Silicon Rodent
Best of luck:good:
I have a big problem with the adb driver. It works perfectly to perfection when the phone is accessed both without usb debugging or with, adb devices detect the phone, and even fastboot when booting into the bootloader. The problem is that when I get into adb sideload from the original recovery my pc (windows 10 x64 build 1703) does not detect it, there is no way to make it work. I've tried changing a pc, cable, usb port, but always the same problem. I have installed and tried every type of driver, but there is no way to run it. I think the problem is oneplus5 stock recovery.

Is you're device connected with a USB 3.0/3.1 port maybe ? If so try a USB 2.0 port and install the latest ADB driver

Does the stock recovery even have adb capabilities?
Hello, I wanted to install a new ROM to my Samsung S4.
Unfortunately it failed and I have deleted the old OS and all files.
I can't use my external sd card in this phone, so I have to connect the phone via TWRP (V.3.0.2-0) with my computer.
I have tried a Win7 Starter Netbook and a Win10 Notebook and I cant' see my phone. I have tried to install the ADB drives, which where recommented here (https://highonandroid.com/android-r...r-android-in-a-bootloop-with-no-os-using-adb/) and still no chance.
I can charge the phone without problems and I have shortly tried it with an USB stick with Linux.
Should I buy a UTB OTG adapter for an USB Stick or do someone have some hints for me?
You should try different USB cables and USB ports to flash a stock ROM using Odin.

Ok, thank you. I have tried different USB cables and USB ports. I didn't have flash a ROM via Odin for a long time.
Where did I find a instruction for it and the correct files?
I didn't see "Added" in Odin, when I try to connect in Download Mode.
If Odin doesn't assign a com port to the phone, you may need to install the Samsung drivers.

I already did this before trying odin. I have tried to install the Samsung drivers again and nothing changes.

The drivers installed properly? What's the exact model # of the phone? Is it possible the phone's USB port is damaged?

It's possible that the drivers may not install without having admin rights on a Windows machine.
The usb contacts for charging are not the same contacts used for data transfer; therefore, a usb cable can charge the battery but not transfer data. Does the phone recognize an otg drive?
There isn't much you can do until Odin assigns a com port to the phone other than trying with Heimdall.
I have bought an usb adapter for usb sticks and in TWRP the stick is shining, but I can't see the files on the stick. I have tried to mount USB and I don't understand, what I have do to next, because I didn't see any difference, I can't go back and try to find the files.
The USB port contacts for transferring data may be damaged.
