Hello everybody. I can't ask on the proper profile request thread because I haven't reached enough post so I'll ask here:
I have the cloudy g2 3.3 on my G2, which comes with the great app Viper4android. I love music but I haven't enough experience to set a so complicated app. I listen to electronic music, principally dubstep.
So: please can somebody post here a viper4android expert profile for my LG G2 phone speaker and a profile for the headsets which you have when you buy a lg g2 (Quadbeats 2)?
Thank you
Everyone's taste is different and settings has a lot to do with the kernel you are using and whether you have changed your sound profile or not. best to try it out for your self and judge which sound is best for you.

I haven't changed the kernel since i flashed cloudy g2.
And yes I know that, but I am not an audiophile enough to understand all those settings in this application
This is someones settings ..... maybe you can pattern yours from this

I can definitively recommend you my setup - you will be amazed!

Can anyone point me to where I can figure out what all the sound control means in the Trickster MOD app? The speaker amp control confuses me...I am not sure what attack time, release time, hold time, output limit, max ACG Gain and Noise Gate Threshold do.....if anyone has optimal settings to make the speakers loud and clear I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

not everyone uses the trickster app, nor does every kernel/rom use fauxs implimentation off sound control.
Thank you for replying. I understand not EVERYONE uses it. But one person who could share information or point me towards somewhere I could get the information I'm looking for would be nice. I mean this is a developer phone so we can all share our tweaks and get the most from it right?

absolutely.
but its also fun experimenting. since not everyone is going to think the same configuration is the best, we all have differing opinions to what sounds good. maybe you can find whats perfect for you and your ears
I just installed this and it looks very cool, but it's pretty overwhelming. Any suggestions for which .IRS files work well with headset, speaker, and bluetooth headset? For bluetooth headset I've also got my regular mono one for phone calls, and I have a stereo bluetooth one from Jaybird so I'd assume they use different settings. Speaking of, what do you guys put the settings at as well.
I looked a bit at the Viper4android thread, but it's like 700 pages long.
Before you get you A$$ handed to you for not following the rules i will spare you the moment of humility and provide you with this since i was stuck in the same situation you were but simply went to google and entered "Viper4android settings" and stumbled upon this which HELPED me!!!!!

Oh, I didn't realize I was breaking a rule. You mean we can't discuss optimal settings for an app for our phones? The only rule I see that might be loosely tied is using search, but I have searched. I have searched and am aware of the main 700 page thread, and also the English viper website, none of these have users discussing the G2 specifically. I'd rather avoid that 700+ page thread since I am specifically asking about the G2 in the G2 forums and what settings work well for others.
Just to repeat, I'm not looking on how to get the program to run or install it, I am looking for other G2 owners feedback on which particular modes worked well for them. I thought it might be a nice discussion.
If I'm breaking the rules please delete my thread then, my apologies.
Moving on..
I don't use the bluetooth headset so I can't help you on that.
But for the headset, I realised that using the xHifi setting under clarity gives quite a little whitenoise. But not using makes your music sound muffled , so I guess it's a trade off(unless you know how to configure the IRS files). I am using my mid range sennheiser CX-300II without any IRS filters, cos none of them work well. You could try loading everything into the folder and going through them 1 by 1, or even making the file which is rather tedious. I couldn't be bothered, the playbackgain control and dynamic system is enough for me.
If you plug your phone into powerful speakers (I have a bose 321 but damn those things make the windows shake) you MUST turn off the VIPER bass and reduce the dynamic bass to ~15%. Differential surround(Haas effect) makes the sound sound off center on speakers so avoid it.
I noticed G2 doesn't have music effect setting, am i suppose to assume that viper is on?
No it's not that simple. What I did was:
1. Install the drivers
2. Backup build.prop then change the lines specified in the main thread for Viper
3. Install google play(doesn't work on stock LG player for me)
3b. (unsure if really necessary) Disable stock LG player
4. Reboot
5. Wait for boot to complete and see all the superSU permission flashing...
6. Play something, then go into viper, enable the first option on the speaker tab and check the "driver status". It should say that it is installed/normal, that it is enabled and that it is processing. To really be sure go play around with the settings but be careful with the gain (don't ramp it sky high and drop your phone in shock)

I just installed the app and it does all the necessary things for you. But still, Viper4Android sucks for our phone. The driver it installs significantly lowers the audio quality. With a huge amount of tweaking you can finally get the quality back up to where the G2 is at stock. Everyone is better off not using this mod for the G2 unless the author gets a much better audio driver designed for our chipset
check out the V4A audio profiles... it gives a great shares from people on settings... try them and check out the one you prefer

Yeah I don't know how happy I am with this app yet. I can get stuff louder, but I hear more distortion, but I have to play around a bit. One odd thing is that different things have different volumes after installing this. For example, my speaker phone when in a call is nice and loud, but when checking voicemail it is very quiet, kind of odd and I can't figure out how to selectively fix these things so I may be forced to uninstall.

I think you guys really don't know what you're taking about. The clarity viper adds to the sound on both my stereo and my headphones is absolutely unreal. After having set up viper, I think the biggest flaw of a stock g2 might be the dull und muffled sound it transfers to proper speakers.

Think what you want but the drivers this uses noticeably took away from clarity in all aspects of the sound. Every speaker setup can sound different so maybe this type of sound just works better for you, my high end systems though it definitely takes a lot away from the audio

That's good news to me. Can you post up exactly what settings, .irs files, etc you have? I'd be most interested in phone-speaker settings, but I wouldn't mind just piggybacking off you since you say you have such stellar results.

neither am I nore do I have a high end soundsystem so I don't notice the difference to the worse. Who listens to anything on a high end soundsystem through a phone?
On my dynavoice speakers and my b&w headphones my music gets several different new dimensions using viper, regardless of the code of the driver.
Edit: of course every setup and every set of ears gets different subjective results. But it's so obvious that the sound is so much better with viper

This is my headphones profile. I haven't set up one for the phone speakers. It's a modified copy of something I found somewhere on xda. I guess you can just create a headphone profile yourself and then copy in the following text instead of what it says in your backed up profile. But I'm not sure if that will work or if it will destroy your phone and kill your family. You will find your profiles (once they are backed up) under storage/emulated/0/viper4android/profile. This works on my headphones and with my ears, that doesn't mean it will work for you. Here it goes:

Hi guys,
I recently upgraded from the S3 to the S4 once I saw the S5 wasn't that great IMO. I just want to know if anyone feels the S3 had better volume when making calls. I will sometimes have people on speaker and I can barely hear them (I can but it's a strain) I never had that issue with S3.
I also feel like the vibration is softer, I've missed several calls when the phone was in my pocket or right next to me on the bed. Never had that issue w/ the S3.
I see a couple of audio fix and tweaks but it seem to only be for media audio than speaking on the phone. I've been searching for about a week and still haven't found anything solid. I tried Volume_Boosting_Sound_VERSION_2_VERY_LOUD and I guess with me running Liquid Smooth 4.4 this tweak doesn't play nice because I can't hear anyone when on the phone so I had to take that off.
If these questions have been asked I'm sorry, I did some searching on particular threads and only found those about media volume. I hope someone can point me to a fix.
Thanks.
For me.the speaker on the gs4 while in a call is better. Might just be me but I've had each phone for almost a year now. If you flash sacs ROM I know that comes with the volume boost.

Check out this thread for some help. And also look at this post to do the mod yourself.
As @daniel4653 mentioned a few of the latest ROMs already boost sound - Sac's, Negamann's etc..
I also use ViperFX and that works EXTREMELY well; but requires some tweaking (all of which can be learned on the viper threads).
Good luck

Pure Nexus. Working perfectly.
I can't stand sound mods that involve more than one app. Just the other week I found something that looked promising, installed it, and then I had viper/Dolby/some Sony eq app/ and some terminal commands. I hated it. I don't see the point in it. Unless you have a few hundred dollars in any type of sound system, and even then most of the tuning can be done from amps/eq
The most Ill go is viper4android ALONE. and even when I do that, I have to modify my goto interactive governor tweaks to eliminate clipping and distortion when the screen turns off.

Try Arise. You will only need to set up V4A, nothing else. If you experience crackling with it, try sonophilo's setprop instead of the default one (instructions in the thread), it usually eliminates all distortions for me. And the quality on the "Numbers" release is hands down much superior to basic V4A installation (i am using also the optional Atmos add-on, i use it instead of v4a equalizer and it's better imo) .
the ARISE sound mod is working for me... it work mm like stock and pa and also works on android nougat
Arise numbers is the best I've used so far. Much better sound quality than just using V4A or ViperAtmos.

hello, can anybody teach me how to install ARISE step by step? because I flashed V4A on PN with EX kernel and although I didnt have 'driver' issues, the v4a doesnt effect the sound itself. already tried changing values in EQ but no effect.
