Stock recovery for XT1572 Asia retail - X Style (Pure) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

SOLVED
If any one stumbles across this the answer is found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x-style/development/firmware-moto-x-style-pure-stock-t3272486
I know I'm going to get a caning for asking a dumb question. I have just spent 1.5 hours searching.
Is their a simple way to get stock recovery back? I have flashed my nandroid back up and now just want stock recovery instead of twrp.
Not worried about relocking the bootloader.
Thanks in advance.

Sorry for the late response - you can find the whole firmware here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x-style/development/firmware-moto-x-style-pure-stock-t3272486
You can unzip and then flash the recovery.img separately.

Thanks dude I posted my own answer at the top of the first post.
How do I close a thread?

There is no Stock Recovery, you will need to flash your entire image for your carrier. Look through the link below, this should do it for you to bring you back to Stock.

Yes I have, that is why I would suggest it. I will never suggest a method or app unless I had tried it and found success with it.

Stock recovery question/request

I was hoping someone could help me out. I searched the forums but couldn't find anything. Is there any way to extract the recovery image from the firmware zip? I tried to do so on my PC but I received an error saying the zip was invalid which I'm assuming is because it's signed by HTC. I'm trying to avoid flashing the firmware in RUU mode since I then lose root. My goal is to be on the stock recovery with root so I can receive OTA's when they are available. If not, does anyone happen to have a copy of the stock recovery for the 1.19.605.22 software . I'd appreciate any help. Thanks.

Pulled from RUU using Universal HTC RUU/ROM Decryption Tool 3.0.7 by nkk71
Stock Recovery - VZW - 1.19.605.22
Great thanks. Saw this tool on a couple of other sites but only for Linux. Didn't know there was a Windows version. It's pretty straight forward. Feeling kinda dumb for missing it.

Run the ruu I posted. Flash twrp and then supersu and you are done. Will not wipe nor change your s-off status.

Can I not just run the update ? Probably not since I'm running twrp right ?
I'd like to update with out wiping . Is this possible ?

Gotcha . I saw ruu and automatically thought it will wipe . Sorry . Thanks for your help
So the one Andy posted that you linked to above or the one in your " latest firmware post" . They may be the same I'm not sure

Either way will work. Andy's way is most likely is no wipe, no recovery so you'll still be on what ever rom your using now and twrp. Dottat ruu will give you the latest stock rom and stock recovery, it won't wipe but you'll have to reflash twrp, reroot, and if not staying on stock rom, you'll have to reflash your current Rom also.
I prefer the ruu and also keep the ruu as a emergency backup

The RUU that is posted won't wipe Internal memory.
It is certainly reccommended for a nice clean setup, but at the time same you could just flash the firmware (which is basically the firmware goods without the stock ROM) certainly wont, I thought you may be on a custom ROM so I suggested the firmware (I should have asked, my apologies), which you'd flash real quick and boot back to your ROM.
As for taking the actual OTA on your device, I'll have to look that up for step by step how to do that, I haven't done it yet so I'm not 100% sure the process. but we got some great guys in here for help, so we'll be good.

That link you posted firmware only, or does it have a system image too? On a custom ROM so I'd rather not flash over it, though updated firmware would be nice haha.

Is it safe to upgrade to TWRP 3.0.2?

Hi there.
Is anyone here using TWRP 3.x? I'm still on 2.x, since I read of lots of problems with newer versions of the recovery on this device, but I'd like to upgrade now. Can anyone give me some feedback?
Thanks in advance
It works but as with multiple posts not with Aroma.
Sent from my SM-N930F using XDA-Developers mobile app
I see no reason to update if u have no issue on 2.x. sometimes upgrade is just a no go.

Try it.. It totally a new design You can revert back, if you don't like it.. By flashing the image through the new twrp itself.

If you're trying to downgrade, it means that you've flashed TWRP.
If you've flashed TWRP, it means that you already know how to flash a custom recovery.
If you already know how to flash a custom recovery, then this is EXACTLY the same thing. Just pick an older version of TWRP and flash it the exact same way you would flash any version of TWRP.
And if you don't even know how to do that, google is your friend.

[Q][STOCK] Downgrade to sprint Stock

Hi,
I've found the following (SPERRY_SPRINT_7.1.1_NCQ26.69-48_cid50_subsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC.xml.zip) stock ROM on firmwarecenter. But it's not a usual ROM, I can't flash the zip with TWRP as usual.
Do you guys have any link to the Sprint stock ROM ? Or any tutorial to explain how to flash a ROM like this one ?
Thank you,
Djokx
Unpack the zip file first and use fastboot for flashing whole firmware by using fastboot commands. Ex: fastboot flash boot boot.img

They don't typically make stock firmware for flashing in custom recovery. Unzip, rename files from .xml to .img and install with fastboot.

Thread cleaned - could we try and answer the guy's question and avoid bickering please? Perhaps someone could zip up a Recovery Stock ROM?

This is largely true, with a few notable exceptions. Wileyfox, for instance. From personal experience.

Untested since I do not own this device, but it should work for you.
PS. I was mentioned over here, but I guess it got cleaned. I am sure nice things were being said, right? lol
edit: Just noticed this is not the exact firmware you were looking for (33 vs 48).
