most like ly yeah it depends on teh developers if they go with cm theme or RRL

no i dont the only rom i used on 5.1.1 that used RRl was tipsy and tesla roms.
Wait for stable ROM then ask about rro (note: I am same as you wait that to happen)

Attention Devs and the most honorable @CM team .
Samsung has released some source code for the beastie G900H, now as a rookie dev i donno if that is enough for compiling a working cm11 from source.
We G900H users would be very much obliged if some pro dev could help us on this.
Note:- Dear @CM team would there be a cm11 for the g900h by u????

yes buddy secret ! LOL but i think we will get CM sometime soon man hopefully i am not the one working on it though but lets hope it gets done by pros eventually so we have a good stable CM working CM on our huge screen will be so sweet man look forward to it.

Custom ROMs already exist, I found them on a Russian forum. I'm on mobile right now, will dig up a link tomorrow.

This custom ROM is just a slightly modded EMUI, based on Russian or Chinese official firmware. It doesn't require building from sources and differs only in built-in root, some pre-installed apps and custom boot animation. It's not what topic starter wants.

I may be wrong here but I read hauwei provides kernel sources on demand (http://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-6/general/huawei-provide-kernel-source-code-t3328551). May be we should mail them asking for sources ?

You may have a try, why not? I'm not a ROM developer and I can't say I don't like EMUI (I wouldn't buy the tablet then). If someone gets the sources, it could speed up the development of something more pure-Android. People on 4PDA would be thankful to anyone who brings such a thing and possibly will help developing something.
As for me, I'd better dig into EMUI properties and flags. (/cust folder, etc...)
Stock moto nougat successfully ported for Moto G3 (osprey)
But. There are some bugs and it is needed to be fixed . i will post as soon possible after the bugs fixed

Performance is good as like other nougat rom. I think its little good than custom roms

I think he has XT - 1550 2GB Ram model.. as he is from India.

Hey so the question in the title I want to install a custom rom and kernel on my old J510H which has dual sims in it which is really important to me.
My question is can someone recommend me a kernel and rom that won't ruin this function? Is it at all a concern? or am i just paranoid?

Nice rom with a full ported features from note 8
Absolutely amazing rom but for me it used a battery a lot and a little unstable (you should check for your self maybe it's much better for you)
Personally my recemndtion is aosp which is light weight and free to choose what you want
But that model i think maybe be the same as a 2015 model and sim 2's data doesn't work(on H models)(still say maybe,this thing was with me from oreo with aosp)
Other things are ok
You know you should look for what is best for you and just try roms one by one
