SM-G900F (XXU1BOJ1) rooting failed -> recovery is not seandroid... - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I try to root my (S5 SM-G900F XXU1BOJ1), but id did not work...
Here are the Steps I did:
1. Starting Odin 3.10.7 as Admin (Win10); Autoreboot on, F. Reset Time on; rest off.
2. Click on AP, choose File "CF-Auto-Root-klte-kltedx-smg900f.tar.md5" taken from here (for 5.0)
3. Put Galaxy s5 in download mode (switch off phone then hold VolDown+Home+Power)
4. Connect S5 with USB to PC and hit "Start" on Odin; Odin quits with: success: 1 / failed: 0
Phone rebooted automaticaly, but halt with:
RECOVERY BOOTING...
RECOVERY IS NOT SEANDROID ENFORCING
Set Warranty Bit: recovery
Battery out & in, booting in recovery (VolUP+Home+PWR) result allways in Set Warranty Bit: recovery;
Battery out & in, booting in download mode still working, so I flashed "twrp-2.8.7.0-klte.img.tar" with Odin to get my Phone work...
What is wrong? How can I get my S5 rooted?
Thank you & best wishes,
cya

OK, flashed with "CF-Auto-Root-klte-kltexx-smg900f.tar.md5" taken from this Post but same here, the only different is the screen turns black and no response (waiting 20 min.).
Maybe the files is for 4.4 and not for 5.0; any idea where get kltexx for 5.0?
Also tried it with "Auto Reboot" off in Odin and rebooted manualy.

Hmm, I looked at the Chainfire Site and found both files listet for my G900F, but none of them is for the actual Stock ROM release ( G900FXXU1BOJ1).

Now I habe a rooted S5
1. copy "UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip" to phone internal storage
2. flash the "twrp-2.8.7.0-klte.img.tar" with Odin (with "Auto Reboot" OFF)
3. After battery out and in, boot into recovery (VolUP+Home+PWR)
4. In recovery with TWRP go to install zip, choose "UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip".
Reboot Phone and tested with a root Checker from Playstore and -> Congratulations! Root access is properly installed on this device!

Thanks, I had the same problem and thanks to this method it workes just fine.

Does this mean you don't need CF-Auto-Root-klte-kltexx-smg900f.tar.md5 if you are using the above method?

As long as you have a custom recovery and use the flashable SuperSU.zip you don't need cf auto root. I think it's a safer method personally, as I've seen a few people on here have issues using cf auto root. I used the recovery + SuperSU method myself without problem on the G900F

Don t panick. I did that already... You need to disconnect the cable and take out the battery. Then you press on the 3 buttons for a while (to empty the note completely) and put the battery back in. When you press the 3 buttons again it should be in download mode again.
To me it happened i think due to the fact i didn't tick update boot loader in odin 1.85. After ticking it and flashing no problem any more. Good luck
Thank you both for help. I fixed. Now i have kitkat with root but is another problem about cwm recovery. I was flashed by odin 6.0.4.5 and was successful but not working on my phone i cant get in. Always when i pressing tree buttons is "RECOVERY BOOTING" and restarting phone and booting system normal. Any advice?

Reflash stock firmware with Odin and after that data reset, then find a custom recovery like this one http://goo.im/devs/philz_touch/CWM_Advanced_Edition/hltetmo and flash it with Odin and flash the latest superSU.zip in recovery and you`re rooted.

I suggest you do the following;
First boot into stock recovery and do a factory reset, reboot and see if it boots up to android.
If that doesn't work, you can either odin a custom recovery like TWRP or CWM. Make sure you flash the latest one for KK as I've seen lots of people flashing one for 4.3 when they have a 4.4 bootloader.
Lastly, you can odin the stock firmware for your phone which can be downloaded off sammobile.

How to root Lollipop (5.0) Stock ROM - N9005 LTE Model

Hello ppl,
Please help me route me to the rooting my lollipop stock rom of N9005 LTE model with steps.
I've found lot of threads but most of them are not for stock rom and few of them is not clear enuf sorry to say that.
Thanks in Advance for your help.
Flash a custom recovery, TWRP.
Flash the SuperSU zip from the following link from that recovery, https://download.chainfire.eu/696/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip
Done.
There are some theads about that. I had the same question today (for me) and searched here
But, I'm answering to help you.
Since i've Stock Lollipop and LTE version (N9005) and rooted a few hours ago, here's the simpliest method I've found: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2466423
Resuming for you from that topic you only need to download this:
SM-N9005 (International Qualcomm): CF-Auto-Root-hlte-hltexx-smn9005.zip
That rar have the img file you need, and the executable ODIN too.
How to root with odin:
-First extract all rar files (to a folder for example)
-Execute ODIN
-Power your Note 3 into Download Mode (vol down , front key, and power button at the same time for 3 secs)
-Connect it to your PC (if on the phone says to confirm entering to Download Mode (vol up) do it too)
-Check in ODIN if you phone was detected (on ID:COM appear blue, or on the message log appear <ID:.....> Added!!)
-On ODIN click on PDA, choose the CF-Auto-Root-hlte-hltexx-smn9005.tar.md5 that you extracted from the rar file.
-Make sure that ONLY auto-reboot and f .reset time are checked.
-Press START.
Now If it fails because of something like Permission Denied or FAIL! (Auth) (check the ''Message'' on ODIN), you need to :
-get out of download mode (if necessary, remove the battery and put it again, and no, there's no problem with that)
-turn on your phone like normally
-go to Settings (General) - > Security, and uncheck Unknown Sources.
-Now repeat the process from the start.
If it PASS, yout phone will reboot, install SuperSU, reboot again, and work normally.
If you have a new app called SuperSU, your root is done Now you can use apps that requires root permition.
Note: this method doesn't requires a custom recovery.

Unable to gain root on SAMSUNG G900F

I have SAMSUNG SM-G900F with firmware : FXX1BOJ1 and CSC: BOH1
I tried to root this device using CF-Auto-Root-klte-kltexx-smg900f.tar.md5 . After succseffuly flashed with ODIN, the phone din not boot anymore. No matter if I enter in recovery or normal boot on screen appear :
RECOVERY BOOTING...
RECOVERY IS NOT SEANDROID ENFORCING...
Set Warranty bit : recovery
Then I flashed a custom recovery in order to try to revive the phone and apply root as well. I flashed CWM : philz_touch_6.26.2-klte.tar.md5 in idea to use it and install SUPERSU. However after succesfullt flashed it with ODIN,the phone boot fine but when I enter recovery the normal ANDROID recvery was present instead of CWM.
In download mode following informations appear now on screen :
ODIN MODE (in red)
Product name : SM-G900F
Current Binary : Custom
System Status : Custom
Reactivation Lock(KK) : OFF
KNOW WARANTY VOID: 0x1 (4)
QUALCOMM SECUREBOOT: ENABLE (CSB) (in gray)
SWREV: S1, T1, R1, A1, P1 (in gray)
SECURE DOWNLOAD (ENABLE) (in blue)
UDC START (in red)
I understand the knox is deactivatedand there and is no known method yet to clear the bit, but I can live with it. However I don't understand what that (4) mean. It was from the beginning (when I first enter in download mode) However how to root it ?
Thank You

I tried to flash CWM but seem it was not flashed, because when I enter in recovery instead of CWM It was executed standard recovery. Where can I find twrp for Galaxy S5 (G900F) ?
Hey there, I got my S5 a week ago and had some flashing problems as well (G900F on official lollipop update). Got it after some research though, follow these steps. Also, I see you're more into CWM, but I recommend TWRP, that's what I'll be using below. Note that this method does trip Knox.
1. Not necessary, but recommended - If you can boot, go to the play store and download "Castro". Castro is a good looking app that shows you all the information about your phone, hardware and software. So you can see if you have root status, the system info, bootloader status etc. etc. This is good if you flash something you can always see how your phone was originally. Plus the root checker will be handy later on. You can export all this information to a PDF or DOC in the app using the three dot menu, then just copy this information online or on your sd card for safe keeping.
1. Boot into download mode.
2. Use Odin (you can use the one attached IF you want) and flash the stock firmware of your device to fix any problems the flashing you did might have caused, this will restore original recovery, boot and system.
2. After flashing the firmware, boot the phone into recovery to check if stock recovery is there, then boot normally to make sure the system is working fine.
3. Download the attached TWRP, it's a .tar so you can flash it in odin. Boot the phone in recovery, there should be some blue, red, and yellow writing in the top left, that's fine, it will go away within 5 seconds or so and then jump into TWRP.
4. Get the SuperSU zip attached below on your phone (if it isn't already, while in twrp you should have access to send files to your phone through usb), in TWRP, select install, then browse to where the file is. Choose it and swipe to flash. When done, reboot.
5. Look for the SuperSU app icon in your app drawer. If it's there, then that's good. Go to the playstore, search for SuperSU and select update.
6. Open SuperSU, it should be working fine.
7. Use Castro or any other root checker to test if root is working, it should be.
Just to add to the above instructions.....
Before you begin the TWRP/superSU flash process, go to .....
Settings>>Security
and disable Reactivation Lock......
Leaving it enabled *has* been known to cause problems during rooting. So whether you start by flashing full stock to your device (or not) check it.......
Edit......oh and after flashing TWRP, DO NOT let odin reboot the device......remove the battery to prevent this if you have to, make sure you boot into the newly installed TWRP and install the superSU zip BEFORE you boot up normally.....

Welcome to internet lol forum is clearly and easy for all user even me the illiterate ( you have search in tread is useful )
Thank You very much. The issue was that after flashing I was boot normally first (check auto reboot option in odin). Now after flashing (having auto reboot in odin not checked) , I power off the phone by pressing power button for few seconds, and then first time boot in recovery mode and install SUPER SU. Then boot normally and everything was fine , and I have root of course!!!

Hello guys.
I have successfully rooted my Samsung Galaxy S5 SM-G900F. (Checked root using root checker, and SuperSU)
I want to install a custom ROM and a custom recovery.
I followed dozens of guides online (I have done this before) to install a custom recovery.
However without success.
(Using Windows 10)
I have the USB drivers, I have tried the battery pull out trick when it doesn't boot into recovery after odin flash. Nothing seams to work. Every time it just goes into the default samsung recovery no matter what I do.
I have tried several recovery images without success. (using a USB 2 cable as well)
I have also tried different Odin versions (3.09 and 3.10.7).
I have USB Debugging enabled.
Tried different combinations of everything and nothing worked for my phone.
In recovery this is my information in the top:
Code:
ODIN MODE
PRODUCT NAME: SM-G900F
CURRENT BINARY: Custom
SYSTEM STATUS: Custom
REACTIVATION LOCK(KK): OFF
KNOX WARRANTY VOID: 0x1 (4)
QUALCOMM SECUREBOOT: ENABLE (CSB)
AP SWREV: S1, T1, R1, A1, P1
UDC START
Does anyone have any idea what I can do about this?
When you say you tried the pull battery trick, how did you do it?
Did you uncheck the "Auto Reboot" option in ODIN first?
Did you allow the flash to complete, disconnect USB, and pull the battery before doing anything else?
Then try to boot directly into recovery instead of powering on normally?

Yes, I did exactly that and when I tried going into recovery after pulling the battery it would go into the default recovery

Make sure you're using TWRP 2.8.7.0 specifically that version

Always use the latest ODIN 3.10.7, and run as administrator (Right click > run as Administrator)
Leave TWRP as .TAR - don't unzip
If it still fails, try using this instead

Requires busybox first

1. win 10 sux whn drivers are in question
2. When instaled drivers did you let windows 10 to obtain them over internet? Windows always tries to chek for drivers even after instaled vie exe file - click skip obtaining from win update
3. Did you used usb 2.0 port on your machine?
4. Did you checked alow mock location and debug on your phone?
5. On some sams phones i had to check unknown sources and uncheck verify aps via usb (why i dnt knw but i menaged to get root after)
6. I always put odin and recov file in root of partition ie c://odin or d://odin

S7 edge bootloop

Hi,
I realy need your help,
I have a S7 edge who is stuck at the samsung logo.
I have flashed some stock rom (all in 7.0) via odin 3.12 after a wipe factory but nothing. So i decided to try it with Kies and smartSwitch but still nothing.
I have access to recovery and download mode.
FRP lock: On
The phone is not rooted, and the usb debugging not enabled.
The phone print this in the download mode:
ODIN MODE
Download speed: FAST
Product-Name: SM-G935F
Current Binary: Samsung Official
System Status: Custom
FRP lock: ON
Secure Downlaod: Enabled
Warranty Void: 0(0x000)
RP SWREV: B:1 K:0 S:0
After the installation of the flashed rom in the download mode, the phone reboot with a blue screen, a progress bar but it stop to 32%, and then it is printed "erasing.." and the phone reboot and is still stuck.
I have re-tryed with Kies, now the phone is with a green screen with 2 white Gears : "android is starting" but it is still stuck (i let him all the night but nothing)
i don't know what to do

You have to use smart switch emergency recovery function to restore your phone. It is a stand alone function within smart switch.
All you need is your phone model and serial number.
Apparently you missed a step when preparing your phone for flashing.
Or you can continue to use Odin which when you plug the USB in will show that a connection is made even though the phone says it's not in download mode.

If that did not work, it looks like the memory chip on the mother board is damaged. Take it in if it is still under warranty.

https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=529152257862714907
modem is here
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=529152257862714909
open odin and boot your phone into download mode
[1]Connect phone and wait until you get a blue sign in Odin
[2]Place the desired BL file in the [BL] slot.
[3]Place the desired CP file in the [CP] slot.
[4] Go to the Options section and make sure Auto Reboot, Re-Partition and F. reset time are unmarked.
[5]Push [Start]
Once odin reports "Success..." message in the Message box, boot your phone into download mode again
then flash again 7.0 roms via odin
then boot in recovery and wipe data and cache
and reboot device
be patience first boot takes 15 minutes or more
if fail you cant boot your device untill system status changed to official due to knox restrictions or bootloader changed to latest
if not boot that means your bootloader not update by odin due to frp lock is on
if you are on marshmellow before flash 6.0.1 firmware to boot device
firmwares are here

try another chance
To do the S7 FRP OFF - Put phone in download mode
Once phone is in download mode.
Flash the files which i will provide.
You Only need to flash boot.tar via odin for respective models (example for s7 use G930 Qualcomm folder) for (s7 edge use G935 Qualcomm folder)
Once you flash the boot tar file. The phone will reboot and it will enable ADB. Run the Bat file which i will provide and it will remove the FRP lock
Once done put the phone in Downlaod mode and flash stock ROM.
The whole process takes less than 10 mins.
Same Idea for S7 Exynos phones... put phone in downlaod mode and then flash the file (G930F(ENGroot) for s7 models & (G935F_Root for s7 edge models). Once done phone will reboot. Then use this bat file (g935f.bat). Once this is executed locks will be removed and phone will go in download mode. Flash stock Boot.img and ALL DONE.

After flashing boot.tar, when i run the .bat, it says error: closed
EDIT: i have to enter into the recovery mod and select "adb update" in order to make my phone detected by my computer
Those files are for the S7. Do they work for the S7 Edge also?
Edit - I tried it and it fails in odin. My phone is bricked.

Works !!!
Sorry to revive an old thread but I think it might help people recover from a bootloop with a bit of addtional explanation than initially provided.
So I have an S7 Edge as a backup phone and hadn't used it for a while. Google FRP was activated. I tried to update to a newer firmware through Odin (can't OTA since it's from Tmo and i'm in Canada). Anyways for whatever reason it failed in the middle and I was stuck in a bootloop that wouldn't stop. I tried downgrading, I tried factory, I tried new versions, nothing would do, I'm assuming because of FRP.
So I followed Rony Raj's post https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=71906126&postcount=17 but kept getting stuck. The thing is once you flash the proper Boot.tar file, the phone will appear to still be in a bootloop. You will have to go with the screen (the phone) and the sound of the connection and disconnection from your computer. So basically just sync with the sounds and time it so you open the ''S7 & S7 Edge QUALCOMM.bat'' file at the exact time your phone reconnects and it'll work. I had to do it about 6-7 times before i got it right.
When that is done your phone will restart in download mode. When you do just flash the latest version of the firmware you get from AndroidFileHos*.com or Sammobil*.com. Make sure you select all 4 files in Odin (BL, AP, CP and SELECT CSC HOME for CSC - NOT CSC).
Once all that is done your phone will restart and everything should be fine, well that worked for me
Thanks a lot to @rony raj for putting together the files and the steps to save my G935
