I have had good luck finding parts for my phone on Ebay. As for what I think you should do, it depends on your comfort level for repairing your phone yourself.
I would take it apart & fix it, but I'm good at that sort of thing.
With a lot of fortune i was able to pick up the pin and make in place the rubber previously come out. My USB port come back work!

Hello everyone.
I am currently modding Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 for car instalation and everything seems to be great except I have problems with two things:
1) As the tab will be also my main music player I would need an USB host from time to time (check: http://www.expansys.si/samsung-usb-adapter-for-galaxy-tab-series-no-30-pin-to-sd-slot-229630/ ). It would be hard to switch that adapter with power supply just for the time I need to stick USB in it so I am asking if anyone knows if it is possible to have both active at the same time: power supply and USB host? Or if anyone has some other interesting idea how to transfer data to tablet asap from time to time? Please note that it will be really hard to reach it when installed.
2) Since the tab has back camera (which is useless to me in cars interior) i was thinking if there is any possible way to get that camera out of the tab with some extender or something? I've been looking at the interior of a tablet and the camera doesnt look to be attach in any other way than just a flat cable. Any ideas?
Thank you guys for your help in advance!

It sound like this will be a permanent installation.
Instead of €22 for an adapter, I'd rather use a breakout and hardwire:
http://www.kineteka.com/galaxy-tab-connector.aspx
This will also allow you to wire the earphone output also.
Yes, with many devices you can charge and do host mode at the same time.
It's mostly a question of convincing your device to play nicely with a non-standard operation.
You can just bring out the USB leads or hardwire in a hub for more options, like a keyboard.
I'd use a DC converter circuit board hardwired instead of a cigarette lighter adaptor.
Something like this, maybe: http://www.lightobject.com/LM2576-High-Input-7V40V-Switching-5V-Power-Module-Regulator-P549.aspx
I think somewhere in the Tab 10.1 forums, someone figured out the proper wiring for a powered USB host adapter. 90% certain that would also work on Tab 2 7.0
hi guys
had a problem for a while where i can't charge it through a cable, but i can charge it through the wireless coil.
i just replaced the USB port, and now i get a reaction when i connect it to the computer, however there is an error about USB not recognised.
i guess i'm not looking for a solution but i want to know if anyone else had the same problem and whether it's like a mainboard problem? cos i better off getting a new phone...
bit of a curveball, not sure would anyone have any idea what happened to my phone
thanks
Hello, so I recently purchased one of those y connectors off ebay for a very pricey $0.99 that supposedly will allow otg and charging at the same time. Despite the sellers claims of it being compatible with "any phone/tablet that has otg" I can't get mine to charge, no matter what order I connect everything. Otg works, but no charging. I also tried on my LG K20 Plus, and same issue. Am I doing something wrong or missing something here? Thanks for the help.
Hey Escott31, Did you ever get an answer to your question? I have been on and off thinking about this for a few years now but never gotten much further than trying a 100K resistor from ID pin to ground which I couldnt get to work. Any luck on your end?
