A number of reviews have talked about what is likely the noise cancellation or wind noise suppression kicking in while recording videos, producing garbled/muffled audio. Has this been resolved? Do the CM12 ports help with this in any way?

anyone same issue the audio in vid recoring is tooo quite
..
Due to the noice cancellation the video records the sound in front of you.
Be careful where you hold the phone also when recording video also the microphone is easy to cover up with your hand on accident.
Was wondering if noise cancellation can be implemented for audio playback through a regular headset, using defy's second mic?
How do you mean? It's for getting the noise out of a recording (speaking in call).
Yeah, in the same way, can it be used to cancel environment noise to listen to clearer music?
For cm7, try settings>call settings>voice quality, try each of those options there.
when recording video and playing it, the video is fine but the audio is all static noise, very loud and no voice can be heard. very disappointed. anyone has the same issue?
When recording video, the audio leaves a lot to be desired. Constant crackling and breaks in audio, onset by presumably LG's noise cancellation algorithms.
Try it for yourself. Record a video of you counting from 1 to 10 with a few gaps in between and you can hear the noise cancelling go full retard. But when you use a voice recording app like EVR, no problems occur due to noise cancellation being no where nearly as aggressive to fluctuations in sound.
Its a common issue for the galaxy s5.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2711008
