Help With DND Mode ! - Galaxy S6 Edge+ Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Good evening!
This is my first thread I hope It wont be my last either
So I purchased a brand new Samsung S6 edge +, Do not Disturb Mode (DND) was working perfectly until I updated the system to 5.1.1 lollipop..
Before when I activate DND it would automatically disconnect any calling users, but now when I activate it, It just gonna silence it :/ its frustrating... I did try searching to how-to fix this issue but I couldn't find any solution:crying:
Hope someone out there knows the answer

up up up

any one out there is willing to help?
:C

There's no fix for that, that's just how DND works now. It silences all calls, messages, and notifications so that they 'do not disturb' you, but theyll still come through like normal.
If you want to stop that, just switch the phone into airplane mode.

Is someone else also facing this issue?
New Nexus 4 Silent mode issue
Hi,
Even I got a brand new Nexus 4 very recently as a birthday gift from my sister who stays in USA. I stay in India and even I am facing the same issue.
PROBLEM: The phone automatically toggles between ringer and silent mode when making calls.
Say if I've put the phone in silent mode, on making a call it will go to ringer mode and if im on ringer mode, making a call will get me to silent mode.
PS: Did you find any solution? It really gets annoying during meetings as you said.
Also if i reboot the phone this issue gets fixed for some time but again it starts happening.
I have already done a full factory reset twice. Nothing seems to be working for me. I know it's a software bug but it's a new device.
Any solutions??? Plss... Or did your problem get resolved? How if it did...
Sadly No solution to this problem.. But now a days trend has reversed fro me .. if i have it in vibrator mode and change it to ringer it chnages back to vibrator on its own.. this is frustating
Facing the same man... It's not a new problem... we are facing the same issue...
As I mentioned... if its on ringer it goes to vibrate and if its on vibrate it goes to ringer... But if you reboot it gets fine for some time.... then starts happening again...
Let me know if you find a solution. Otherwise have you experienced any screen Freezing during Incoming calls (Unable to pick up) and all? I'm facing that too...
what about: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2248866
Avg is the culprit according to that forum but.. I need to test it out.. tahnks anyways
AVG SUCKS! - It's the reason for all this chaos
AVG is the cause... Thanks a lot. It never occured to me that what was installed to protect my phone was the reason to corrupt its software.
Uninstalled it and now its perfectly fine. Love my Nexus 4.

[Q] i9300 no sound on phone call

When I dial or receive call from my friend, there is no sound from other side. However, my friend can hear me.
I have checked on other posts said tick turn on the lock screen sound then reboot, but it is only temporary.
I also found out that another situation also cause no sound. That is turn the phone volume to silent or vibrate mode and then reboot. This also cause no sound on phone call after reboot.
It is annoying that I should turn the phone to vibrate mode when I am on duty. If the system crash and reboot itself, I would miss calls.
Any one could help?

How to mute everything except alarms?

So I have a Galaxy S5 with Android 5.0 Lollipop (OTA update came a week ago).
I need to keep the phone completely silenced during the night except for the alarm which has to wake me up in the morning. While the phone was running Android 4.4 I used the Blocking mode which I could set to affect incoming calls and notifications but not the alarms.
Now that Android 5 is there and TouchWiz has been updated, there is no Blocking mode anymore. I can choose to allow priority interruptions only or no interruptions at all. If I select no interruptions, the alarm doesn't sound at all.
If I select priority interruptions and check only 'Events and reminders' I kinda get what I need, but not quite. Incoming calls, SMS, WhatsApp and Facebook are muted and the alarms sound just like they should. However, Viber and Skype do not get muted. This means that I should manually sign out of skype and/or kill it in order to have peace from the app.
So what should I do? I want to easily silence the phone and keep everything muted except for the alarms. I want to do this quickly - with one touch. Going into priority notifications mode and then manually signing out of apps is no way to go.
Any help would be appreciated
Bump for this, searching for solution....
Sent from my SM-G900F
double bump...
triple bump...
My fiance's GS5 upgraded last night and her alarm never went off this morning... I woke her up and told her - she saw her phone's alarm going off on the screen with no sound. She didn't change any of her alarm settings before/after upgrading so this is a FAIL on Samsung's end in my opinion.
I realise that this is a lollipop feature, but I believe that Nexus ROMs let you pick which applications are priority (to disable Skype notifications, for example), which doesn't seem possible on the S5.
HTC seem to have kept their silent profile for the M8 lollipop update - lucky them!

Select priority interruptions and turn off data/internet. There's a toggle for that in the notification panel.
Or better yet, put phone in airplane mode with blocking mode off. That's what I do.
Airplane mode seems like the easiest solution for your problem.
Use the Do Not Disturb app. Perfect replacement for Blocking Mode.
If you disable "Events and reminders", does it do what you want? You still get alarms with that unticked.

No, with that unticked I do not get any alarms.
Airplane mode is a possible workaround, but not perfect, because the risk of forgetting to switch back to normal mode is high. Furthermore, I enjoy reading my missed notification first thing in the morning... Going to give that do not disturb app a go
Long story short, this is a major fail for the new firmware. I don't know if it is a Lollipop issue or a less than perfect Touch Wiz implementation of the new Lillipop notifications concept...

That's strange, I still get alarms. There's even a message at the bottom of the interruptions page that says alarms are always considered priority.
I also still get all the notifications, just no sounds for them (I run in priority mode most of the day), so I can still catch up on notifications.
I'm running version BNL9 but not sure if that makes a difference.

Huh, I guess you could forget however I don't see how since there's an airplane icon instead of the signal bars.
Has the problem been fixed on Android M?

(On Silent) turn everything on silent except hangouts.

So at night when I goto sleep I turn phone onto silent so I dont get annoying tones from my apps but I need hangouts on loud so I can get messages and texts on emergency from work to wake me up no matter what time it is.
So here is what im on.

Muted by Android Wear is not working

Hi Guys, I am on OOS 3.5.6 (Stuck on it, because VoLTE doesn't work for me on any CM14.1 ROM on T-Mobile in US) I am using LG Watch and want to silence my phone and only have my watch vibrate. It used to work normally when I enabled the "Silence phone while wearing watch" option. For some reasons, it doesn't work. Usually under Sounds it would read "Muted by Android Wear", however phone still rings as though this feature is not enabled. It's annoying because slider also doesn't function properly when I slide it up to Vibrate mode. This way everything is silent, including my watch... Anyone god their android wear silence feature working?
also, if anyone here on T-Mobile in US, please let me know if you were able to get VoLTE working on any CM14.1 ROM, thanks!
