I'm on pure ROM on my rooted 6p and I'm getting authentication problems when I try to login on Snapchat. How can I fix this?

Snapchat will fail on a rooted phone. They now use safety net api. You have to unroot then login and re-root.

It works on every rom I've used and of course I'm rooted. But yes the login will fail. I'm guessing you have xposed installed? If so uninstall snapchat, flash the xposed uninstaller zip, install snapchat & signin, then flash xposed again. All your modules should still be intact.
What I do afterward is make a backup of snapchat once I'm able to sign in then restore that backup to your new rom so you don't have to go through all this again.
It won't work with xposed running already on it. You'll have to uninstall xposed first. Then log in to snap chat. Then install xposed. I had the same issue when on xposed.
I recently did a full restore and re-rooted after running into some issues the first time. Now Snapchat will now allow me to sign in because of the device being rooted. I have done some googling and have tried the "rootcloak" method through xposed but it seems as though it is not able to hide root from Snapchat like it is supposed to. Does anyone have any ideas as to how to get past this without doing another restore?
Are you having an issue logging in? I had an issue logging in, but I disable xposed using the uninstall script, logged in, and reinstalled it (with all my settings intact) and it has been working fine since.
Thank you! Was just able to sign in after uninstalling xposed signing in and re installing xposed. Haha I was over thinking and trying too hard.
You can use Casper.io if Snapchat keeps being an issue.

The uninstall script that I have used in the download link in this forum :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/unofficial-xposed-samsung-lollipop-t3180960
Im not sure where you got your xposed install or if this will work or if it will cause problems so use at your own risk but it works perfect for me because I got my install from this post
Doesn't work for me on S7Edge.
Running just a debloated version of stock software. Uninstalled framework and Xposed App but still the same SnapChat Login problem. Anyone else have any ideas how to get around this? I'm considering changing back to stock.
Make sure your account isn't locked out. I ran into this issue with note4 after rooting.
Where is the uninstall script, because I have this same issue on my galaxy s7 Verizon after I rooted and I want to try to uninstall xpossed and then reinstall it after I log into snapchat.

In the Xposed sub-forum.
Another option that works is to log into Snapchat before rooting the device. After rooting, make a titanium backup of Snapchat (including the data, of course). Once you've done that, you can just use that backup file to restore the data on any version of Snapchat, and it will function correctly on any Android device, even if the device is rooted.

Hey, I actually did that, but as soon as I try something in Snapchat it will log me out. Any ideas?
I have s7 edge, rooted with xposed.
I wasn't able to log into snapchst until I did this.
1, used a different phone that was rooted but didn't have xposed installed.
2, logged into snapchat
3, used titanium backup to backup snapchat
4, I used titanium backup on my s7 edge to backup snapchat
5, I renamed the files, 3 of them, from the working backup to the same name that titanium backup saved the file names on my s7 edge.
6, I used titanium backup to restore the data,
7, opened app and I was logged in and haven't had issues so far.
So, with Snapchat not working with anyone with a rooted device is there a workaround? Or do we have to wait until there is a work around? i've tried Xposed and some frameworks but that doesn't work either.
I only updated my phone today and haven't had an issue with Snapchat and root so I have no idea how long it's been going on for. Been looking across the internet and can't really come across anything solid so far, so apologies for another thread on the subject.
Sorry if this is the wrong area too.
Only solution I've found is us use the SuperSU app to uproot, then log in to SnapChat, then reroot.
If I unroot will that reset my phone or anything?
Once you do manage to log in, make a TB backup so you can restore the log-in in the future without having to unroot.
i can't log into Snapchat at all

snapchat and root are no problem the problem is that snapchat check if xposed is installed or not that's why it won't log in...snapchat don't work if xposed is installed...
uninstall xposed through twrp and log to snapchat after that re-install xposed twrp
- tapatalked - from my VANTABLACK S7 EDGE

I don't have Xpsoed installed at all, that's what i'm confused about .
You can login snapchat, but you have to install systemless supersu + systemless xposed +suhide + magisk7
I can get pass safetynet check (checked today)
What I ended up doing, which works, is I wiped my phone on TWRP, reinstalled my firmware (superman) chose not to install root/Xposed, downloaded/signed into Snapchat, then rooted my phone. Long winded but it works.
Backup your snapchat data from a unrooted phone. I used titanium and restore on rooted
Just use Casper instead of original snapchat app.
Sent from my SM-G935F using XDA-Developers mobile app
You are unable to sign into Snapchat if you have the Xposed Framework enabled or Rooted.
(Rooted has never been a issue with me)
But Xposed framework is normally the cause, Even if you used Xposed or not, If the framework is present you cannot Login.
Simple Open up Xposed App (If you installed Via Superman you have have enabled to option and installed it)
From there you have a option to uninstall.
Reboot and once booted back up, login. Once logged in use Titanium Backup to backup the App plus Data.
Reinstall Xposed Framework and you should still be logged into Snapchat.
If you ever have any issues, Delete the app and restore from your backup, you have no need to uninstall Xposed as the Data is restored from the app keeping you logged into the app

I have heard that just using suhide is enough to pass Snapchats new Root detection.
I have not tested as am still running the old version with Snaprefs

Hello,
I've got a question about snapchat.
I'm sorry if im posting this in the wrong place, im new here!
I want to use snapchat 9.3.1.0 so i can use snapprefs.
I'm rooted and have xposed framework installed.
I am currently logged in in the newest snapchat version.
I made a backup of my snapchat with TB, deleted the new version of snapchat, installed snapchat 9.3.1.0, opened titanium backup and restored 'DATA ONLY'.
When i open snapchat, the app says: There are no snaps, and it says i've got no friends (which makes me sad). Any idea how i can fix this?
Thank you!
Lorenzo
It seems they recently changed things in an update. I have a rooted device with exposed, running superman rom. I used to just turn the switch off inside xposed, restart, login to snapchat, turn xposed back on and it was fine as long as I didn't log out. Now, none of that works.
My solution was to go to recovery, dirty flash my rom without root or xposed, login to snapchat, and go back and dirty flash again with root and xposed.
Way too much effort for snapchat, but it worked!

I have a G935A. Snapchat was working fine, then i rooted and it was still working fine. When i installed xposed it stopped working. I read its a common problem with snapchat, so i uninstalled xposed and it still didnt work. I tried restoring the phone 3 times and nothing has worked. All it says is my login failed. I can sign into the account on an iPhone and i can make a new account on my S7, but i cant sign into my regular account. Any suggestions?
Did you remove xposed app or uninstall xposed ? You must flash xposed uninstaller via TWRP.
Happened to me once on a different phone after xposed was installed.
Two methods are:
1. Flash Xposed uninstalled with TWRP - login to snapchat, installed xposed frameworks again.
2. Have another rooted device (no xposed) - sign into snapchat, use Titanium backup to backup snapchat, Make sure u CLEAR the data for snapchat on that phone or delete the app, don't log out!, Use titanium backup on your root S7 Edge phone (with or withour xposed) and restore that file.
You should be automatically logged in.

Yes uninstalling the app directly from your phone just stops u from controlling xposed u have to Uninstall the framework with flashfire or TWRP.. If you have already tried that I had this same problem the other day.. I actually heard that snapchat is now checking for actual just root as well.. I Uninstalled root completely logged in then re rooted and re installed xposed. Sounds like a lot but it's worth it. Only takes 10 minutes.
if you have a backup like titanium backup of the snapchat app AFTER you've logged into it, i think you should be able to restore it without having to uninstall xposed..

I've tried flashing the uninstall package multiple times, the Xposed app says no framework is installed. I've also reflashed the stock firmware multiple times trying to fix this issue and NOTHING is working. I tried backing up snapchat on another rooted phone and restoring it on the s7 and that didn't work either. This is extremely frustrating

Did you clean up and fully unroot your phone? Root is now being checked for
FIX
ONLY FOR THOSE WITH SUPERSU ROOT
Facedthe same problem today mate this is how i did it and just takes you couple of minutes
just temporaily unroot your phone with your SuperSU app if it still does'nt work. if you uninstalled xposed.
you will see that you are gonna be able to snapchat right the moment you are unrooted.
login
grab yourself a flashable zip of supersu to re-root your phone and flash it with TWRP
you should be logged in and have you root
make sure to get titanium backup right away if you didnt have it already and BACKUP your snapchat app + data.
saves you from doing this all over again if you ever should be logged out of snapchat.
for the new roms with magisk v7
i cant figure out how to do since since we cant en/disable our root anymore (correct me if am wrong cause i dont know how to do it with the new magisk manager )
automagisk wont do the trick so i dont know
hit thanks if this helped you.

Hi mate,
I wanna do what you did, as in full unroot then login then re-root. I just wanted to ask do I need to have any custom recovery software installed before doing this? I rooted my phone with ODIN. I DONT have XPOSED installed contrary to what EVERYONE in this forum keeps saying that i only have to uninsall xposed lol.
I have a rooted s5 too so could I potentially login on snapchat on that then create a titanium backup of the app+data then transfer across to me s7edge? That is how I initially remained logged in on snapchat when switching from the s5 to the s7 edge.
Please help! everyone else is just being vague!!

You could just fully unroot within the supersu app re login and then use Odin to re root. .. Or use your s5 to log in and back it up and transfer to your s7.. But you'd have to unroot your s5 if you did it thst way.

I love casper for that function exactly, you can watch peoples stories (stalk) without them knowing. The root session used to keep me logged in on both but I think SC have found a way to detect root use of a third part app which is a shame. Not sure if anyone knows how to mask casper from SC at all on here?

Hello,
I'm experienced a weird bug - when installing an APK file the phone hangs and I need to force restart it. After restarting the phone and trying to open the app being updated - a crash occurs. The update process is seemingly corrupting the app as I need to uninstall it and install again to make it work, making the associated data gone. It is frustrating, because it happens like I'd say 50/50 of times.
Happens while installing an app manually and using root in Yalp. Play Store not tested as it is not present on the phone.
The setup is Xperia X compact running latest .118 Oreo with microg, no GAPPS, Magisk, official Xposed 90 beta3,
Xposed modules: BatteryCare+, FakeGAPPS, GravityBox, XposedGmsCoreUnifiedNlp, XPrivacyLua
It did happen on Xperia X and Xperia XZ with similar setup on Oreo. I wonder if it might be caused by Xposed bundled with Xperia Software?
Actually I'm facing similar issue. I concluded it's caused by Xposed and certain modules. In fact, it's a known issue of Xposed for Oreo. According to rovo89, existing Xposed has problem with ART in Oreo.
As a workaround, now whenever I need to install/uninstall anything, I disable Xposed in Magisk first.
https://github.com/rovo89/Xposed/issues/325
Thank you @itandy for replying. Have you tried installing EdXposed instead of the regular Xposed?
Well it is basically for Pie but it is supposed to work on oreo too. Whenever I tried to install it on X compact running Oreo I got bootloop.
I have found that only some apps installation would cause a freeze and reboot. But your solution is safer of course.
