[Q] Galaxy S5 SM-G900F no 4G after root attempt and fail. - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello XDA,
I just tried to root my Samsung Galaxy S5 today, and it didn't go well.
A bit of background history of what I've done:
I followed this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2696537 and it softbricked my phone. So I decided to try and install stock rom again, and after that my phone kept telling me that the Android OS has stopped working, and a lot of other apps. And when I turned on the phone, it had to optimize 314 apps. But that didn't work, and it happened on every boot. Then I decided to do a factory reset of the phone, and it worked again. But now without any 4G. All I have now is LTE.
So I looked around on the phone, and found a few "standard" apps, that I did not have when I got my phone. I.e. e-Kiosk, Rzeczpospolita.
So I'm thinking, that I might have installed the wrong stock rom. A rom that probably is supposed to be running on Czech Republic devices. But I am from Denmark, and assume that might be the reason that I'm not having 4G.
This is the stock version I have downloaded: G900F_NEE_G900FXXU1BNL9_G900FNEE1BNL2.zip
And this is the site I found the version from. It is the "Finland, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, (Nordic countries) – NEE/G900FXXU1BNL9/G900FNEE1BNL2" I have downloaded and installed. - Androidromupdate
My question is, does anyone in here know what I can do to fix this problem? Maybe a danish stock rom, but I cannot find a danish one.
I am very sorry if this has been posted before, but I could not find anything about it.
EDIT:
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that I did factory reset and reset cache on the recovery mode. When I had to setup my phone again after boot it also started on Czech language.
EDIT 2:
I just got home, and found the box of my phone. It says that the art code of the phone is SM-G900FZKANEE if that is any help.

Samsung Galaxy Express I8730 - No sound at all

I have a problem with my Samsung Galaxy Express (GT-I8730), international version.
I updated my firmware using Odin to a newer build. The firmware was downloaded from SamFirmware.com.
After the update finished and my phone restarted I've got no sound at all. I tried doing a factory reset but no luck. I thought the firmware was corrupted and after downloading and installing a new one, the exact same thing happened.
In the video posted below I am doing a factory reset from recovery, just to show you that I'm doing everything from the beginning.
The phone vibrates but there is no sound.
Before the update I had build version : I8730XWAMB8. After the update I tried with : I8730XWAMD7 and I8730XWAMC4. All these builds have the version number 4.1.2.
If I reinstall the I8730XWAMB8, I have sound but this build is branded and I'm very mad that I can't install other versions. This thing won't happen on my Note 2. I can install what firmware I want from SamFirmware.com.
I also saw that with all these builds my phone will randomly power-off at different times. It can be 5 minutes after I turn it on or it can be 18 hours. After the power-off I need to take out the battery.
What is wrong with the phone? Before these updates everything worked perfectly (before trying these updates, with the initial build I had sound and there were no random power-offs).
Any suggestion would be appreciated.
I also wanted to de-brand my i8730 and had similar issues as you. I tried 4 different firmwares, and the only firmware that really works OK is the original, branded one. With other firmwares (same version, same country but different branding) got me the occasional shutdowns like you described and wifi constantly disconnecting and connecting again.
Now I went back to the XWAMB8, rooted the phone and with Titanium Backup removed all the branded apps.
If you don't want to root your device you can always hide the apps, from the app list click on the Menu button and choose the option Hide applications.
Isn't that weird? I had a lot of Samsung smartphones and flashed a lot of firmwares (both stock and custom) and never experienced something like this. Can you tell me where you bought the phone from (what carrier and country)? Thanks.
ssweays composed
It is indeed very weird. My phone is branded to Portuguese Vodafone, I tried flashing other portuguese firmwares and also from other countries, the only stable one is the original one.
I think the phone is designed to be like that.
Sent from my GT-I8730 using xda-developers app
It is happened to me too, this power of thing in XWAMC4 firmware. (it is happened after less then 5 minuts after i turned out the screen)
finally i went back to the XWAMB8 and it's all work great.
No sound at all - not a problem in Australia
I updated and Optus branded i8730 with the plain vanilla variety and have had no problem.
Is your phone network locked?
99% sure mine is not and that may be what is causing it.
Bazzan
Well, it was a Vodafone Romania firmware but not really branded. I mean, it only had some apps installed by Vodafone. However, I'm getting my hands on an unbranded grey Galaxy Express today. Let's see what's going to happen with this one..
Something similar happened to me. I rooted it via motochoper from my linux desktop. Played a bit with root stuff, and later then I had no sim detection and no more speaker sound. I reflashed /system and got sim detected but still no speaker sound. Now I'm affraid of rooting the new one (I got lucky with my carrier). Something is weird about that phone...
Edit: In fact it seems to be TB that messed up the device... Everything fine now...

Wipe and full reflash with odin or heimdall...
Try full wipe and full reflash of original firmware with odin or heimdall...
Does somebody was able to flash a ROM released for a different carrier and still have sound working on this phone?
I either have no sound at all (after burning a new ROM for different carrier) or have strange sound (like "ET call home" - not my problem description, just found it on this forum too) after mixing new ROM with my original MODEM file.
Of course, everything is fine after burning back my original ROM.

original firmware is AP I8730XWAMB8 / CP I8730XWAMB7 / CSC I8730BOGAMB1
phone freeze , restart , no sound ..........
Solved with I8730XWANE1_OXXANF1 , all is OK , sound OK
After I flashed LineageOS 14.1 for GT-I8730T (mine is GT-I8730) the sound doesn't work, video player and music players too, they open and I can fast forward it, but it doesn't play. I changed it back to I8730UBAMD2 and CM 13.1 but nothing. Please help me!

[Q] flashing Stock UK BTU though on boot polish language shown

Ages ago because i was impatientto update my phone so i flashed the Polish Stock using Odin, since then i have used Odin to flash the UK Stock, though when i wipe and reset the phone it still initially comes up with the polish language, (not a massive issue i know but i want to get UK OTA if it ever comes) also if i go to sell the phone at the end of this year when the Note5 is out im sure the new owner would want to turn it on and see english.
Ive tried
Clearing the EFS cache and resetting the phone from recovery before and after flashing BTU
I made sure reactivation lock was off as I wondered if that would cause an issue though that hasn't helped. does anyone have any other ideas?
Im un-routed as i sometimes use my phone to test out corporate BYOD so cant root of flash a custom rom.
thanks all for any help.

Download Phone INFO Samsung from Play and check the CSC.
But it might be you are rebooting into DL mode instead of shutting down the phone then starting it in DL mode. I usually remove the battery for a bit and hold the power button for a few secs to make sure the mainboard is completely discharged. Odin (& other methods) all have problems changing BL and Modem if you just do a reboot into DL.
You might want to take a look at Multiboot and Recovery for the possibility of having the ROM you want, rooted etc. AND still have a stock ROM you can choose to boot into for work purposes.

Galaxy A500FU - the phone doesnt turn on

Hello, im new to this forum
Ive bought a Samsung Galaxy A5 back in September 2015 to my girlfriend.
At the time i opened the case to see if it was everything ok with it before giving it to her. unfortunately i installed oficial updates in the phone after connecting the device to the internet.
Wanting to give the phone just like ive bought it, i started to making all things wrong. i tried to reset the phone back to the factory reset (using the volume up + home + power buttons) but after that the version that was still installed was the updated one and not the factory one.
Then i tried to download the factory version from here htt p://updato.com/firmware-archive-select-model?r=&v=&q=Galaxy+A5+205 using odin and this guide htt p://updato.com/how-to/how-to-install-an-official-samsung-stock-firmware-using-odin
it was installed but when the phone restarted it never turned back on again. despite being the correct version for my region i believe i installed a variant version and not the factory reset version.
I tried turning the phone on, using recovery mode and download mode keys but the phone never gave any signal again. plugin in the usb in the pc didnt work either.
I ended up buying the same phone since i wasnt able to solve the problem and her anniversary was close and ended up with an extra but damaged phone.
i never tried to get the phone to the warranty because i knew that i was losing the it the moment i tried to use odin.
is there anything else i can try to solve the phones problem? or is this problem unrecoverable?
thanks in advance
I can't tell you if your phone is unrecoverable but I think you had flashed other variant's rom causing your mobile not turning on. I don't see any a500fu on the website you posted. If possible, could you tell me which variant you had flashed. I had ever experienced a hard-brick when my device was accidentally removed while odin was flashing aboot.mbn. The solution was changing the motherboard which didn't cost much. I would recommend you to flash firmware from sammobile and do NOT use 4.4.4 firmware as few friends on this forum had experienced hard-bricks. If you want, try a usb jig.
Try warranty, you can have the chance of getting it repaired.

It must have been other variant rom.
http s://gyazo. com/7ac9dfe107976eeb802cae50a23b23a1 - here is a screenshot
Samsung Galaxy-A500FU - to get there you need to go to "updato" site (first link), place on the search "Galaxy A5" and select Portugal as "region"
There are 7 options, 6 are for locked phones to the main Portuguese operators and one for unlocked phones (i assume), because it says "Porgugal TPH" - TPH means the phone house witch is a store that sells phones and other electronic equipment.
Despite the phone not being bought at the phone house i assumed it was this rom since there was no other one and the phone is not locked to a particular operator.
Ive checked the site you provided and it as almost the same rom´s as updato and the only one that is not locked to a particular operator is TPH one.
So my only option is to use a usb jig to force the phone into download mode? will that work with or without a motherboad change?
please have in mind that the phone does not respond to any other button or combination of buttons comand and trying to charge the phones battery only produces heat at the phone and charger, nothing else happens.

Can Samsung Members' country be changed?

So I'm from Colombia, and I installed a firmware manually to recover from a bootloop. The firmware was from Colombia (it said COO, if that's any helpful).
After I had it set up, a text popped in the screen. It said something about my carrier and firmware not being compatible and told me to factory reset in order to fix it. As I still had signal and my data was working fine, I let it like that.
Today I checked Samsung members to see if the beta program had arrived for me, and in fact it had, so I tried to join but at one stage it said I couldn't apply because my carrier and firmware weren't compatible. I remembered that pop up from before and factory reset the phone.
After setting it up, I went to Samsung Members. The main screen was showing and quickly somenthing popped up, I couldn't read what it said exactly, but was something about changing the Samsung Members country for better service. I clicked accept and it loaded for a bit and went back to the main screen, I accepted the terms and conditions and the app loaded, even though my phone language is set to English, the news and tips section was in Spanish (before resetting it was in English) and the beta program message was gone.
My question is: How is that the country was changed? Can I change it back?
By the way, my phone is an S8, SM-G950F (Exynos), and if I'm not wrong, the previous firmware was from Colombia

Currently only unlocked firmware from US/UK/SK and eventually some other parts of europe are eligible for the beta and you need a sim card that matches those countries. Like I have a UK s8+, I could have the right firmware but if I don't have a UK sim then it won't work.
