hi, i bought a Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime, everything is working fine except it's memory, it's internal storage is just 60 MB and main Storage is just 16 MB so i have to use a SD card and install my apps in it. I wiped data but everytime i get 10 mb internal memory free out of 60 MB. if i can get about 25 mb free it will work fine but i have to uninstall some system apps in order to do that i have to root my device but odin mode is not working at all. i have installed adb and i can connect my device through usb and working fine. i used some rooting apps like kingroot, vroot, iroot both in pc and the device itself but still i can't root my devce.
Can you give me any way to root my device without odin mode and increase my iternal storage.
Is there any way to root device with recovery mode.
I have tried about 100 methods but still i can't root it.
Please Help Me!!!

i'm thinking about buying the legend and i heard you can root it. i was just wondering wat r the benefits of rooting the legend because you when you root other phones it's because of their ROMs but the legend runs Android 2.1 which is great. So what else can you do with it?
the benefits of rooting a legend would be the same as rooting any phone. so its not just the legend in specific.
look up the specifics of benefits of rooting in general, not just on the legend.
also you can only root the legend if its running 1.31, if you get one from virgin mobile or bell they will be running 2.03.
this isn't android 1.3 or 2.03 its the boot loader version or something like that
storage readings
Is the ability to install applications into whichever drive one wants one of the benefits ?
When i install apps now the phone doesnt ask me which drive. I was checking via quick system info and I got the following results--
Internal storage -total 185 mb free -57mb
System storage - total 240mb free- 41 mb
I think the readings are not good ?
Do I have too many apps ?
How can I improve my situation ?
Thanks

beside rooted your Legend, you need to apply app2sd so yo can install app to sd. with darktremorapp2sd also you can move dalvik cache to sd. I just use my internal storage about 25 Mb only, I installed mote than 20 app there.
Thanks Besfen and jul644 for providing useful info.
I uninstalled many apps and I found a remarkable improvement in the first storage but the system storage remained the same. How are the two different from each other ?
Yes, the the number of apps installed did not affect the performance of the phone in anyway even before i uninstalled them.
Hello,
Yesterday, I flashed 4.4.2 stock rom on my S4 i9500 through Odin. I was also successful in rooting it. then after installing titanium backup I uninstalled all the knox applications. now there were no knox warnings poping up all rooted apps were working good. Then I installed most essential root app in my phone called "foldermount". You know being a s4 owner how easy it makes your life when you can transfer all big games to the sd card and no internal memory full issue.
Now the bad part of story starts. When I opened the Foldermount it showed me an error message that To fix the error click okay and reboot the device. After rebooting all apps of phone like gallery, camera, Shealth, filemanager, music etc. Either stopped working or started showing the message that you dont have any internal memory or external sdcard on your device. In settings>storage, there it also said that 0 mb internal memory 0mb external memory. I also tried connecting my s4 to pc with usb storage option. It showed there too that internal/sdcard has total 0 memory.
So basically foldermount had screwed my phones memory. I think it had messed up the partition table of my phone. After that I reflashed my 4.4.2 and tried installing latest version of fouldermount and the whole thing happened again.
Now I have again reflashed the 4.4.2 rom. I think in 4.4.2 samsung has changed some stuff and foldermount is no longer compatible. Now I have also come to know that You cant downgrade from 4.4.2 to 4.3. :/
Please someone tell me alternative to Foldermount which is working on 4.4.2.
I would also like to know why foldermount no longer works on 4.4.2? is it only samsung's 4.4.2 rom or it also doesnt work on other 4.4.2 based roms.
Thanks!

4.4.2 has sd card write problem. There is a fix for this problem on the forum n then use Foldermount or may be foldermount isnt compatible with 4.4.2. They ll release a compatibility update for it. I havent rooted yet n 8.41 gb is enough as internal!

There is a easy fix for kk4.4 sd write protection issue by adding a simple line into a system file. Just search for it in the forum.

Thank you guys for replying.
I just checked the changelog of Foldermount and found this
v2.6.4
-Updated Portuguese (new translator: extream87), Polish, Latvian, German and Finnish locales. Thank you volunteers!
-All patching menus are scrollable. This should help some users that are not able to see the bottom buttons correctly in these dialogs.
-Fix a rare case where some S4/Note 3 users that update from 4.3 to 4.4 and patch the system using FolderMount leads to the disappearance of the internal/external sdcards.

I think now foldermount will work fine on S4/Note 3. If it still doesnt work then I will try fixing "write_external_storage" thing.
damn...
After using the forums for a long time without registering, just did to point out I had the same problems. Read a lot before flashing 4.2.2, all went well until installing Foldermount... wish I read this one before installing it. SD Card looks empty on phone, but fine on computer, Play Store, S Health, Story Album kept crashing. Ended up doing a factory reset I didn't need, and flashing it all over again.
I have the Developers Edition of S5 and I successfully flashed recovery TWRP and root last night. I tried backing up apps to ext sd card in Titanium Backup but it keeps saying insufficent storage available error. However i can install play store apps without problems. I have over 5GB of data free. And my sd cards wont show via usb over computer on Mac. The option is grey out and android transfer doesnt work displaying an error message to restart device but it doesnt work either. USB debugging is enabled. I installed and uninstalled kies3 for Mac which also wont work. Any suggestions on these problems that can fix them? I'm pretty frusterated at the moment. I didnt have this problem with my HTC Rezound before.

1) you need to have sdcard access via root to write to it. Blame kitkat. Use this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=nextapp.sdfix
2) I can all but guarantee your backup exceeds your available 5gbs free, that's why it's failing. Backup one or two apps and I bet they go through.

Thanks, this will save me from having to make the config changes myself to fix the stupid broken app permission setting when I root my new dev edition =)
I have rooted with vroot to help gain more useable internal storage, and now I have much less. I would like to know how to reduce the amount of system data used for internal storage. I know there is not much development for the 7.0 so any advice is appreciated.

Thanks for the reply. Can you tell me how to get Foldermount to work when there is not enough internal storage space for the obb files. It seems you have to install to internal then use foldermount to move to external. Thanks in advance.
I have a tab 4 7' 8g sm-t230nu, but I cant root mine. Vroot never worked. How did you root yours?
You have to remove the august update 1st. DL the May kernel from sammobile.com and use odin. There is a thread on how to do it.

Yup, it should install to internal storage first. Click the add button and select where the obb files are in and then select the destination at where you want them (should be in: /storage/extSDcard/Android/obb/). The app will then move the files to the destination and trick the tab that they are in the internal storage. If you cant install Foldermount, try to delete cache and if that doesn't work remove any apps you dont use. System apps can be turned off and you will gain some space in return. Move as many apps to sdcard using the Settings app. If you still can't do it, I suggest you:
1) Backup Apps and Data
2) Remove Apps
3) Install apps with large obb files
4) Move data using foldermount
5) Reinstall apps you removed with the space you have left.
6) ????
7) Profit
You may noticed that settings will go crazy saying you have used more storage than you have available (example: 12 out 8 GB used). Don't worry about that, it shouldnt affect you at all

Hi I have a question about my rooted Alcatel One Touch Pop Astro Model 50042T. First off I have rooted phones and tablets and moded gaming systems so I have a general-intermediate understanding of the process of rooting but I'm pretty much lost after that. (Also I do NOT have ready access to a PC for the time being.)
So my main concern is that my phone should have 4gb of internal storage and it is only showing that I have 1.80gb!! I know that there are partitions or divvied space that are hidden or you need special permissions to edit. Is that the USB storage? If I'm wrong about that sorry, please correct me.
So my question is how do I reorganize, modify, or even delete hidden partitions? Anything to return my phones visible 1.80gb of storage to the original 4gb? I just need to be able to access it again to install apps on it. If the whole 4gb is impossible, can I get it back to the 3.7-3.8gb that was available when I first purchased it? Please help!!
Im not sure its completely rooted. Im running king root version 4.9.6 and Purify version 1.5.2.159 and I might have installed a custom ROM or kernel but I'm not entirely sure. I got the pphone approximately 3-4 months ago and I rooted it the same night. And I tried multiple versions of king root and other apps and eventually my phone storage disappeared.
•I would install a root checker if I had enough space.
•I used purify to get rid of apps that I figured were bloatware but I still only have 43.82mb available
•I have transferred every app to the SD card that can be stored there.(If there is way to store system apps and apps that usually can't be stored on external SD I would like to know.)
Thank you for your help,
Maxx
