Trouble with camera picture orientations. - OnePlus 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
I'm facing a weird problem. When my screen rotation is locked and I click a picture in landscape mode, it stays like that even when viewing it when my phone is upright. This happens even with videos. Landscape videos remain in that orientation when keeping the phone upright.
When I tilt my phone to view it horizontally the play sign stays in the same orientation as it were when the phone is kept straight. Sometimes the video fails to play at all.
My phone is rooted and updated to OTA 2.1.2. I've also installed the CM gallery. Had installed ES file explorer but removed it soon after.

This is an issue with 2.1.2

Taking Portrait Picture Issues

Anyone having this problem? Whenever I would take a picture in portrait mode, it would save in that position like it should be. But after a few days or so, I would go back to the picture hub and noticed that most of the pictures in portrait mode would turn sideways and display in landscape. Some of them don't do that, but most of them do. Kinda annoying to me when I want to show people what pictures I took..

Click to collapse
I take alot of pictures....and I also take some in portrait mode....but I've never had a problem like that. But depending on the way the phone is held will determine how the picture is displayed. Hold the phone normal and the picture will display in portrait style....hold the phone sideways and the pic will display in landscape style.
Just checked my camera roll in the photo hub. I don't see this issue on my setup.
Ok I found out the problem. Something goes weird when the pictures get synced into Zune. I make it automatically sync all the pictures I take onto Zune whenever I connect it to my computer. And when that happens the pictures will turn sideways. The only way to make it turn vertical is to delete it from the phone and resync it into Zune and it will be upright again.. Very weird. But I now checked to not sync it everytime I connect it to the computer so it will not have that problem anymore.

[Q] camera locked to movie mode

Hi,
somehow I cannot switch the camera between movie and still picture mode any more. Tapping the little icon in the top right above the zoom controls which is supposed to do so, only causes the screen to dim for half a second. But the camera stays in movie mode. I tried resetting the camera settings to default. That didn't work out.
Thx in advance for your suggestions

Camera - Landscape pictures with Auto-rotate off

Hi,
II have issue with standard OOS camera, the pictures are not rotated to landscape if I take them with Auto-Rotate off.
To me this is new since 2.1.2, as I never noticed this before.
Any ideas ?
Yes, exactly the same for me and I didn't notice it before 2.1.2 either.
Hoping for a quick fix....

auto rotate not working

Anyone else have this issue.
Does not work for me when using YouTube and wanting to switch from portrait to landscape.
Very frustrating
Just me then?
I'm sure you checked the auto-rotate is enabled.
On my side, I also have to manually press the full screen icon on YouTube app from time to time like 80% of the time, the rotation is automatic
Yes have it enabled. Have tried switching on and off as well as switching phone on and off.
I've noticed also now that if I'm looking at photos they do not rotate either
I'm having the same issue. I have reset the setting multiple times, restarted phone, and tested the gyroscope ability. It just doesn't auto rotate anymore & it's definitely annoying.

Strange camera issue (tilted in certain video modes)

In certain video modes (normal, short, timelapse) my Mi9T tilts and flickers the picture to the left on the screen. It's really weird because after installing any 3rd party camera software it works normally.
Any thoughts?
Update: meanwhile it turned out that the image stabilization is the culprit - with IS off it is ok but once I switch it back it happens again...
