Need Help! Possible brick after flashing recovery. - X Style (Pure) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all, just got my Moto X Pure this morning. I received the update to Marshmallow and began using the toolkit to unlock the bootloader, flash the recovery, and finally flash SuperSU. Everything was fine until flashing SuperSU onto the device. Now my device stays in the infinite Motorola logo of death, and any attempt to enter fastboot or recovery fails.
I'll get the "Unlocked Bootloader" warning but never enter it, and any attempt at entering recovery will just loop back to either a black screen, the logo loop, or the warning message. Was able to do commands until this point, but now that the phone wont enter fastboot or recovery I can't even use the RTS tool or try manually restoring the phone. Have I just made my brand new device a paperweight?! :crying:

Press and hold Power /volume down with the cable not plugged in..... You doing that.

Yeah, that finally solved the issue by holding down power alone before the bootloader unlock screen, with the device not plugged in as you said, the entire device would be off for 2 seconds, which was enough time to finally enter the bootloader and apply the RTS tool's .bat file.
From there I made a Nandroid backup of stock in case another issue arises, but now I'm running the soak test build of Marshmallow, rooted and with Xposed all working as they should.
Thanks for your help!

Stuck on "Warning Bootloader Unlocked" Screen after OTA

I bought my first phone from Swappa a couple days ago, and figured I would go ahead and by a rooted/unlocked RAZR M and start messing with ROMS.
When I booted the phone, and got connected to my WiFi network it said I had an OTA, so I went ahead and installed it, (now I know that one should avoid OTAs on rooted phones), but now its stuck on the Warning Bootloader Unlocked screen. I do a hard reset (power + volume up/down), it boots, its done, I unlock the screen, it shuts down, repeat. I can't get it unstuck.
This is my first experience with any sort of unlocked or rooted phone, so I have no idea what I'm doing.
Please help

You need to be in fastboot, before connecting the phone to the computer and starting the utility. Brandon gave you the key combo to do it.
I got it fixed, and it upgraded to 4.1.2, then went to install Eclipse ROM, the install failed so I hit ++++ back+++++ and then rebooted from the recovery menu, and now it's stuck in the Warning Bootloader Unlocked screen again. Hard reset doesn't work, it reboots back into the Warning screen, and the utility that was posted earlier isn't connecting to recover the device.
What now?

Boot back into fastboot and use the utility again. The utility won't work unless you're in fastboot, and for heaven's sake, make a backup of your stock ROM, before flashing anything new. If you had a saved ROM, this would be easy. After Eclipse failed to install (it has been well documented that a straight install of Eclipse through TWRP or CWM usually won't install), you could have easily gone to the main menu in recovery and clicked "restore" and restored with zero issues.

always make a backup man, safe yourself some time.
I can get it to boot into Fastboot no problem, but when I go to run the script its not recognizing that the phone is connected. The phone says "Connect USB
Data Cable" even when its connected. I'm not sure which side is failing to see the connection, the phone or computer.

[Bricked?] Can't get to bootloader after trying to unlock with NRT

So I have a nexus 10 32gb that I got yesterday that I updated to 4.4.4 and I wanted to root it so I could get some apps that I love to use. Here's what happened:
Everything was going smoothly with nexus root toolkit. I set up adb and all of the drivers. Everything with that was working and I made sure to check nexus 10 with 4.4.4 in the drop down. I press the unlock bootloader button and the device says it's going into bootloader mode, but it just goes to a black screen. Then a message pops up saying I have to factory reset if i'm on 4.4.4, but that never shows up on the tablet, so I just hit OK. Then the device supposedly reboots, but now it's stuck in a bootloop and whenever I hold down the buttons to go into the bootloader the screen will turn black and the device will vibrate once after I hold the buttons for a while, then it tries to reboot again and gets stuck bootlooping. Then I try the factory reset method through the nexus root toolkit, but fastboot fails to see the device since I can't get it into the bootloader! It also doesn't show up as the correct device when it is bootlooping and connected to my computer.
Am I scewed if i can't get to the bootloader? I don't know what went wrong. I just got it yesterday and assumed it would be super easy to root since it's a nexus device. :'(
Any help/ suggestions would be great.
You are correct, nexus devices are super easy to root especially without a toolkit, most rooting issues I've seen on any nexus device has been due to the use of a toolkit so I would advise not to use it.
Currently you need to get into bootloader so you can flash a custom recovery with fastboot and then flash ROM of choice from there
Try adb reboot bootloader while in bootloop but I have a feeling this won't work. So if not try powering on holding volume down, even try with volume up, just keep trying button combos to get it to boot into bootloader.

Try power and both volume buttons at the same time if you haven't already.

I have actually been trying that. I just let it die while it was bootlooping, so hopefully when it gets a little charge I can try to get it to go into the bootloader again. I have a feeling there's a bigger issue than that though.

[SOLVED] Bootloop. No recovery. Bootloader locked.

Hello,
This afternoon, I was preparing to flash Oxygen OS 2.1 through twrp but I wanted to make a backup first. Attempting to load up twrp by holding Vol- and Power, my OPT flashed the starting frame of the boot animation for half a second before turning off. This repeated every 5 seconds. I could still boot OOS normally at this stage.
I decided to reflash twrp so as to make the backups, but on attempting to flash it, I saw that my bootloader was locked. So into fastboot mode I went, but trying to unlock it, it did the same as trying to get into recovery. As soon as I sent the command, "fastboot oem unlock", the screen went dark, flashed the starting frame for the boot animation, and promptly when dark again.
I now can't boot up normally, nor can I enter recovery. I can access fastboot mode, but I can't seem to make any changes.
I've attempted to use this solution as well as several other similar ones with no success.
I've had my OPT since 17th of August with absolutely no signs of trouble until this afternoon.
To me, it seems like it could be a hardware issue, but I'd hope it would last more than 40 days.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.

I'm not sure what I was doing, I was going to flash different ak kernel as my wifi didn't work.
HOWEVER
I read someone suggesting if you still have bootloop after trying the qualcomm recovery tool, try booting to fastboot and use: fastboot continue
my opt booted nicely to hydrogen os and after I shut it down it no longer bootlooped and I was able to get to recovery.
I'll post this to your reddit thread too, maybe it might help somebody one day, hopefully this works for you too

Mate! that worked for me too!
However... It only seems to skip the bootloop for that power on. After power off, it returns to the boot loop. I also still can't unlock the bootloader and can't access recovery.
But at least it can boot into OS with fastboot continue!
Thank you.
Weird, after the first successful boot I rebooted and a chinese menu prompted me if I wanted to unlock the bootloader, and I did.
Maybe you should try different recovery packages.
But I'm glad to hear you at least got past the boot loop

I guess the phone is in working order at the moment, I just can't let it get turned off without my computer next to me...

Nono I mean different qualcomm recovery packages, the ones with MSM8994DownloadTool, I also replaced the stock recovery in the qualcomm package with twrp just in case if that matters

Ahh, do you mind linking me to the one you used?
I think I used this: https://mega.nz/#!EsNQHKab!ifATzg4rxxBniPad0iyxANqlN8cZpUx2MVWaZgEhrD4
but it might have also been this: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B14IjYN3PtxcSlJ5aGQxX3JERHM/view?usp=sharing
It's also worth mentioning I flashed both a few times before I tried the fastboot continue command so try both a few times and see if that helps, also I replaced the stock recovery with twrp in both recovery packages before flashing.
Edit: And best of luck, I'm rather confident your OPT is going to work properly again.
Boot Loop
I got the same problem.
Phone is rooted and i can't unlock it in cmd, just reboot itself when i try it.
The only way for me to even start the OPT is to (volume+ and power), to get to fastboot mode, then run "fastboot continue" twice in cmd.
If i reboot the phone it get cought in a boot loop where i can see the logo, reboots about every 2 sec.
Is there a solution for this? I've been searching 2 for two days now.
I don't care if i have to reset the entire phone.

I finally got my OPT working again, tried Qualcomm recovery tool, wasn't able to complete the "MSM8994DownloadTool"
So i downloaded "A2001_14_A.03_150805" in a guide from technobuzz.net/unbrick-oneplus-2/
A similar but it does a entire wipe of the phone, nothing left at all. WARNING!
But i was okey with it.
Well the phone was in Chinese when it was all done but to change language was no problem.
I finally managed to solve it on mine. I had been cautious over the past weeks to not let it run out of battery or get turned off while away from my computer as
Code:
fastboot continue
was the only way I could get past the boot loop.
My core issue to solve was that I couldn't get it recognised as the USB Diagnostic 9006 under Ports in Device Manager. I installed the driver from here manually by right clicking the /qcser/x64/qcser.inf file and selecting install from the context menu. Then, I powered off my OP2. While only holding Vol+ (not power or Vol-), I plugged in my OP2 to the computer and it was finally recognised as the 9006. Then using the recovery tool from the prior link, it installed and rebooted my OP2. The moment of truth was when it rebooted and didn't enter a boot loop!
Then with the Chinese recovery prompt, I selected the top/first option and it brought me to the welcome/first setup screen of OOS.
It wiped the internal memory, and installed OSS 2.0.2 (don't know if coincidence or not as that was my prior OS as well). Now to install twrp and update to the latest OOS hopefully without a hitch.
Happy to finally know it wasn't a hardware issue like a failed eeprom or a dud nand controller as my prior phone (Samsung Note 10.1) died to a failed nand controller as well.
Will update with news of twrp and OOS, but I feel that should go smoothly now. Thanks to the others that helped in this thread too!
Yeap, all good!
Flashed official twrp through fastboot and batch installed OOS2 through 2.1.1 patches and SuperSU. Everything working like new!
Phew.

Nexus 7 No Recovery/No Fastboot RESOLVED PLEASE DELETE

Hey XDA!
Got my Nexus into some trouble today. I Was running stock rooted 5.0.2, received an OTA update for 5.1. Ran the update and it sent me to my TWRP 3.0 recovery. Restarted the device and found out the update did not work, leaving me at 5.0.2. Ran the update again like a tard, took my to the stock bootloader. TWRP is now no where to be found... In fact there is no recovery to be found. When I select the recovery option in the bootloader it goes to black screen then redirects back to the bootloader. When I select the "start" option, it's reboots the device taking me to the bootloader. I have attempted a hard restart with the power button but the device hangs on the Google logo forever. I have tried to use the Nexus Root Tool but it can't help me since the device won't connect via fastboot, or ADB.
Any help is appreciated.
Hallo,

you mention it wont connect via fastboot but you can still reboot with the pwr + vol- to get menus of some kind.. ? if the screen is backlite even just a blank screen but you can see it light up theres still hope. All i can say is try to reboot the device into fastboot an then try Nexus Root Toolkit an see if you can reset to Factory to restore the stock recovery partition along with reset the OS to which ever you select and start over .. Good Luck Flashing... the only way i can say your SOL is if when you plug it into your PC an it pops up with the error "Device Malfunctioned,....." then you SOL Good Luck Flashing :good:
EDIT: Sorry didnt notice it was resolved in the title..

HELP! OnePlus 6T Black Screen - Won't Boot

I successfully rooted the device and until recently I wanted to unroot the device, so I uninstalled Magisk.
However, after doing so my device rebooted into a black screen and the only response I got was a vibration when I tap the right side/edge of the screen or press the power button.
I tried pressing the Power button + Volume +/-, and was able to enter recovery and fast boot mode. However, I tried wiping cache, resetting, and formatting, my phone would still reboot into the same state.
When this problem occurred I had 30% battery and I also tried MSMDownloadTool for 6T, but my computer simply does not recognize the device. My device is only two weeks old.
Any help would be appreciated.
