Hi
is it correct that there is no backlight in hardware keyboard on this device ??
regards Bo
No, there is a backlight. Disable the light sensor and try it in a dark room.

Bo,
I my HTC version there is a back light coming up when surrounding light is weak. Keys being blue thw whole keyboard shows up in light blue...the light will only switch on when you make the first click on any of the keys.
Hope this helps.

These 5 buttons at the bottom, are dark. They are never illuminated.
I already installed this ROM about a month ago. But now it began to bug me lately.
Is there anyone experienced this before? or can anybody with that?
thanks in advance.
and thanks to all the developers for their hard work. especially you, munjani...
How do you mean?
it will turn light on when night or dark..
and it will turn light off when daylight.
about button lights

it's munjeni 4.0.4...
it's really good other than that small issue.
Seems that is unknown thing? the only I can say try WM6.5 ROM.. to see that is works, or maybe your phone's lights are dead

Same problem here... when i am going to settings and set it on manual and then the lights are illuminated.. untill i lock the screen en when i unlock it the light wont light up... so maybe it is a bug in the rom... so my experiene is that it does not matter if u set it to auto/manual ... it just does not work like it should be ..
Hi!
I've acceidently broken my phone's screen. New one came, installed it but the button backlight seems to be turning on, no matter where i touch the screen. It goes off after a while. But it also feels mutch brighter then the original one.
So my question is: Am i stuck with glaring backlights forever? Or i can make them somehow less brighter? Or even make them work as they suppose to (lights only when i touch the button) ?
Thank you!
button 's bscklight turn on always when the screen is awake and/or you touch it. Yes people say the replacements are brighter.
I have S3 Advance and the buttons where always on when using the screen, not only when touching a button. perhaps you don't remember because they were not so bright
JiaYu S3, Nougat 7.1
Yes. Probably that's the truth. Still any option to make it less bright? I remember on some rom i could change it.
Thank you btw!
not any option about it (yet) but I don't think anyone will take care to make the LEDs from buttons darker.
JiaYu S3, Nougat 7.1
there may not be a hardware controlling the brightness so the only way is to lower the voltage which is not configurable in kernel.
So the left hack is to add a resistance behind the leds i guess ?
How about the files in "/sys/devices/platform/leds-mt65xx/leds/button-backlight/", could I modify one of those to dim te hardware buttons?
A day or 2 ago, my notification light has stopped working on my Samsung Galaxy s8
I tried restarting the phone and turning the LED indicator option in settings on and off. It doesn't seem to help or fix it.
I wonder if i should return the phone since its still in warranty and get a replacement because charging the phone works but LED doesn't show it's charging like that red dot on top of the phone.
Could somebody help please.
Thank you, Kenny

Hi there, easy to diagnose.
Go to the phone dialer and dial this: #*0*#
A debug menu will appear, click the LED button (middle right).
It should light up the LED, click the screen to cycle between colors.
If this works correctly, then the issue is software/misuse/app conflict/whatever.
If it does not work correctly, then your LED needs servicing/repair.

There is a long discussion on this subforum about the LED issue, did you use any LED control applications?
Seems like something is killing the LEDs.
Just for future reference.

Hey ye i have had a look at the discussion in this sub forum and no i wasn't any sort of LED applications.
So i guess its my bad luck on getting a partial faulty device :/
Id assume its a hardware peoblem since they said reflashing the older firmware didn't work.
Thank you
(This was double posted from the main LED thread, don't know how to delete it, but it may help anyway)
To contribute to the discussion:
- there are some apps that only work in certain colors. For instance, Whatsapp is working with blue, but no other colors. I may have seen it blink once for another color, then never more.
- all apps using blue are working
- I have an app that is originally set to blink LIGHT blue and it is doing so.
- Telegram manages to blink pinkish
- charging is Red
- Fully charged is green (but again, green is not working on Whatsapp).
Looks like a software thing.
Went from Note 3 to Unlocked S8 and I rely a lot on the LED. The Note 3 was nice and bright. Not so on the S8. I cannot see if from across the room. Light flow does a good job of giving me the colors I want and I rooted the phone. So does anyone know how I can go in with a file manager and change the code to make the LED brighter? Thank you in advance!

I am at work and didn't have time to check my phone, but in accessibility settings on iPhone there is an option to make flash light blink when there is a notification. See if S8 has anything similar.
Hello, I installed LightFlow to control my Galaxy S8 led color.
What should I do to reset the colors of the led to the factory color and brightness ?
you have to uncheck Samsung root modus in light flow settings. That bring the LED back to original brightness...... at least that helped me.
Unfortunately, the S8 LED can only display very few colors correctly.
