Update
I think this might just be smart manager for Knox ram and battery. I got an update which gave me this.

I feel 1GB Ram for this costly phone is very less. I bought this phone for 210$.
What about russian firmware?

My father bought me this phone with a contract, 90$ for part payment and now I'm bonded with this phone for something like 24 months more
Making the math It costs me nearly 300$

I hope Samsung releases Android 6.0 firmware for this phone.... Or I hope atleast someone builds CM 13 for this phone.

I don't recommend this phone.Galaxy A3(1gb ram variant)lags all the time.I turned off auto-update apps,I had just 7-8 apps(I don't use facebook and messenger,I use facebook lite),I deleted cache, phone calls, messages, browser history etc,I reduced animations, but phone still lags all the time.1gb ram on touchwiz isn't enough.Android 6.0 probably will not released for our device. I will sell this device soon...Very bad experience

I would like to do so
But I can't
Very little support from Samsung, this phone hasn't support for Android 5.1.1 and if that exist is thank to the devs, not from Samsung

Can we update SGS2 to 2.3.4 which is meant for nexus s ?
I mean not all in all, but definitely we can Eritrea things & make it fit for SGS2 right ?
Will that be so simple or it's very difficult without source code ?...
Just a noob question, I wanna know the answer pls....
Samsung release their own source codes and to modify Nexus S 2.3.4, it will take lot of effort.. Some Devs are trying to use HTC sense on SGS.. but its not easy

Hi,
I am new to Samsung phones so don't know a lot of the terminology. Can anyone please explain what a .pit file is and what a PDA file is?
I understand the android advices guide, but I do not understand why there is no ext4.pit file in the following link, if it is necessary for the upgrade procedure:
http://www.samfirmware.com/WEBPROTECT-i9100.htm
So... is it strictly necessary, or is it possible to get by without it?
Many thanks,
James

All of the retail versions should have 2.3.3, this build appears to be a newer one though (XWKDA on my UK one, versus XWKDD).
Unless it is simply for a different region...

Hey guys, i'm new to the samsung forum! I've just jumped ship from an HD2.
Just received my SGS2 this morning and it also has come preloaded with XWKDD
Baseband: I9100XXKDH

Build: Gingerbread.XWKDD
Now to figure out how to root this beast!

hi, nasgilani
can you tell me what's different between (I9100XWKDD) and (I9100XEKE1) !!

Got assured indirectly that 5.1 will be receiving on moto g 2014

I just couldn't wait, at least they didn't say they are not going to release 5.1 for moto g 2nd generation, what do you think guys? I still can't wait to receive it on my moto g 2014, may be that improves it's battery life a bit!

On xt1068 dual, if i reboot. everything will be fc.. com.android.phone, systemui etc etc. Solution is really funny. I removed both the sims and rebooted, then everything worked fine. In this way there are many other minor bugs.

Thank you for the reply, but how come your update has ~650MB when the reported update should have 1.4Gb.
The over-the-air update is reportedly rolling out as we speak to the carrier's Samsung flagships, and comes at the hearty 1.4 GB size.

Oreo is coming to Tab S3 Spring/Summer 2018

Samsung has announced dates for its Oreo roll out and looks like we will get it with in the next 6 months just in time for my Pixel 2 to get P LOL https://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_adds_more_devices_to_the_oreo_update_schedule-news-30042.php
Awesome! Really looking forward to that update.
They show the Galaxy S7 in the same line with the Tab S3 and my S7 is just fishing up the Oreo update (US w Verizon).
Great news i got mine yesterday with 24 months contract. Already loving it and the s-pen is great! I am not going to root thus device is too expensive and because there will be official Oreo upgrade and maybe P.
Hopefully Oreo won't rape my battery of my Tab S3 the way it has on the S8

Would the WiFi - only version of the Tab S3 also be likely to obtain an Oreo update? I've just ordered one. I'm thinking since it doesn't do phone stuff, they wouldn't be able to "push" me the update? Would I have to download it from Samsung's website if they make it available?

It's irrelevant whether it's wifi only.
The tablet will periodically check Samsungs servers for updates.
If one is available it will inform you.
Any idea what features we are likely to get on top of the Oreo update like updates to TouchWiz etc.
