Can you have different photo on lock/home screen? - Nexus 6P Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I know this is not possible on the N6 and curious if you can on the 6P.

I don't believe so. I've looked everywhere in settings and don't find anything.

As far as I know you need to be rooted with a custom ROM that has this feature.

Dim Screen at Boot Time / Recovery

So yesterday I was messing around with rooting and setting up CWM. It was quite frustrating, but not for the usual reasons: turns out that my Nexus 7 likes to turn the backlight completely off during parts of the boot process (the google and X logos) and always in CWM so it looks like it is off when it in fact is doing something. To be able to see anything I have to shine a very bright light (using Torch on my phone right now) on the display. However during normal usage, there are absolutely no issues with the backlight.
Any Ideas?
I can try to take pictures of it later, but I don't have a very good camera.
Bump. Anybody?
Same problem here. No idea why it happens.
I contacted Google and they're going to replace it.

Return it to stock bootloader and ROM to rule the changes didn't introduce issues.
I did, it's definitely a hardware issue

I don't mind it actually since it only happens during boot. Not much of a problem here.

If you intend to flash custom roms it's a huge problem lol.

Screen problem

OK, I've only noticed this now, but as you can see by the image, the right side of the screen seems like, well I dont how to explain it. Anyone know what it is, possibly how to fix it?

I think the word your looking for is normal.
Lol
But seriously i dont see anything wrong

I don't see anything wrong either. Is there something physically wrong with the screen? Screenshots won't show that obviously.
Unless you mean that the screen is shifted to the right, then the screen is fine. If it is because of shifting to the right, it might be more of an app issue not hardware.

same
I've got this issue, seems to be software related for me. It renders parts of the screen (ONLY grey area in settings, only place where I can get this colour atm). I will try re-flashing stock roms and trying different things to see if this issue can be fixed.
It's the background gradient in the settings. A solution would be to find the image and replace it. You'll have to dig through some apks though.

Stop... MUFFIN TIME!!!
Its a Google software issue.. Alot of people have the same problem even if they don't realize it

If you look closely its on every Nexus 7, it's just Google being weird with the gradients.

Nexus 4 yellow tint and clarity. Help!

Hey guys so I got my nexus 4 about a week and a half ago and there are some things I love and hate. The screen is what's really getting to me. It has a yellowish tint and the viewing angles are pretty awful. Is this a software or hardware issue? I've heard some kernel updates fix it but I can't find it. I just find the screen not as sharp as it should be. I'm coming from an HTC one x and that display was just absolutely gorgeous. Any help would be appreciated

I know some phones have a yellowish tint until the glue dries. Iphones have had this issue but I am not sure about the N4.

If you are rooted, you might want to give this a try:

If you are not rooted, I believe there is another app, but it just puts an overlay on the screen. So, some have been running into issues with that.
I've been running Franco's app, and I have to say I am very pleased with it.
there's already a thread for this, you should find some answers there: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1990276

Nexus 4 Color Calibration

I'm going to pull the trigger soon on an N4. That being said I was extremely excited to see that Faux has put together a color calibration app for it. Being an ex T-Mo employee I was able to play with the N4 extensively and the only turn off for me was the screen.
Any who, I was wondering if any of you have used the app and what your impressions are on it. Maybe snap some photos with a point and shoot of your before and after? Thanks are in order and any input is greatly appreciated!
*BTW I know there already is a thread on this subject. My main request here is to have someone post some before and after pics to see the difference in PQ myself*
