Samsung and/or Android Pay ? - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Has anyone found either a working Android Pay for a rooted 9505 or Samsung Pay app with working framework mods ? Have searched but found nothing.
Google Wallet was working fine, but they disabled it from being used to pay with credit cards.

I don't think android pay or samsung pay will work on modified softwares.

I had run into some Samsung ones, but not for the S4/9505. The mod included firmware, so am assuming it has to be device and Android version specific.

Hi everyone.
Android Pay only works on unmodified stock firmware. It won't work on rooted or custom ROMs (even without any root access).
I don't know about Samsung Pay because both Android Pay and Samsung Pay services aren't available on my home country at this moment (maybe later?).

I know that, but was hoping someone had modded it to make it work on rotted devices and custom ROMs.
The Google Wallet I had used would not work on my device if stock wallet version was installed, but it was modded so it would work

Can soe one send me the update and tell me how or point me to a tutorial ( preferably on youtube ) to update kitkat with out loosing root.

Maybe there is a mod to find in the Apps and Themes section for the downloadbooster.

Android Pay or Wallet working for anyone?

I'm still on stock NI2 4.4.4, but I rooted many moons ago. Ever since Google updated their Wallet app to the new Wallet with Android pay, I can't use Wallet with NFC. I used to use the vending machine, but now it says "android pay cannot be used" and it kicks me back out. I tried temp unrooting with SuperSU, as well as RootCloak. I even tried older versions of the Wallet app, but nothing works. Anyone have luck with this? Maybe I should cross post in the Unified S5 thread.
As far as I know they removed the 'tap to pay' function from Wallet. You can only use it with Android Pay.

Samsung Pay on rooted S8

Hello, I just installed TRWP and custom firmware, so my knox obviously is broken. I was wondering is there a way to make samsung pay work yet? Or maybe Android pay? I really liked nfc payments.
If you have a gear watch you may be able to sideload an older version of SPay onto each and have a working SPay on your watch.
Not sure if that technique works for this device or only non Samsung devices though...
But otherwise, no you won't have working SPay on your 0x1 device. Android Pay probably, yes.
Magisk could be working I guess

The way Android Pay works is by using a check called SafetyNet. Magisk fools the system with root by being a systemless root so nothing is tampered with, and in a nutshell, SafetyNet passes its checks and such Android Pay works.
Samsung Pay uses a different set of checks which fail majority of the time. There's been a few instances where people have been able to use Samsung Pay with the use of Magisk but is patched rather quickly.

Samsung Pay stores info in KNOX, so blowing your e-fuse kills Samsung Pay for the life of the device. Doubt there's a way around it.

I know this is an old thread but don't want to start a new just for an update.
Still not possible to get it to work with a rooted tripped phone?
Coming from nexus, first thing I did was root and make a nandroid...
Also flashing stock and locking doesn't revert this? How does this fuse work? Is it hardware or how come you can't just flash the original?

It's a fuse located on mainboard which is being "blown" after unlocking the bootloader / rooting. So there's no way to revert this unless you change the mobo on it.... Which I doubt ?
With Magisk, Android Pay is working flawlessly. I'm using it all the time on Note8 port.

How are you getting that to work? I have magisk 15.2 on the s8+ and hidden from all the apps i can think of in magisk and it still tells me access denied blabla

Nope and never will work. It's a hardware efuse on the main board of the phone. It's literally trips and burns out. You can't flash stock or anything to revert it.
The only way you can revert it is to buy a new motherboard.

I just rooted my S8+ with Party Cyborg it is a 955U1 and I did not like the fact it could not use health or Samsung pay with my S3 so I put back the orig factory rom and all is working now, Before I factory defaulted it the my device has been rooted and Samsung pay will not work was keeping me from using it but when I went back to factory it works great now. The phone was on V2 firmware not sure if they did away with the efuse or what but I was glad....

You can use samsung pay on your gear s3 on a rooted phone by hiding samsung pay (gear) in magiskhide and setting it up like normal, make sure you pass safetynet

Unfortunately, once you rooted your Sammy device you can't get features such as Samsung Pay back due to the blown e-fuse. However, rooting with Magisk will let you use Google Pay. I've been using it basically every day for the past 6 months and not once have I missed Samsung Pay. If by any chance your phone doesn't pass the SafetyNet check there is always modules such as MagiskHide Props Config which will let you change your fingerprint to a certified one, therefore passing the SafetyNet check.

How to make Android Pay work on a rooted device?

Hello everyone, next week we will have Android Pay running in Russia, so I would like to know if anyone managed to make it work on a rooted s8? I flashed custom Renovate rom and have Magisk. Would be grateful if someone can give an instuction on how to make android pay work.
There is a option in Magisk Manager called MagiskHide. You can use it to hide root and modified boot.img from specific apps. But I don't know which application SafetyNet detects.
Thanks, will try when Android Pay starts working in my country.

But simply activating MagiskHide won't hide modifications from SafetyNet. You have to choose application from the list MagiskHide requires so that MagiskHide can hide your Magisk modifications from that application.
I actually don't know, which app you must hide Magisk from.

Does it worth to root the Note FE?

I thinks that we are going to face software instability if we did so. Right ?
I dont think that we need any other custom rom .
So i am thinking of just rooting without installing any custom rom . If i will , it will be only For the z sake of using TWRP.
What is bothering me the silence of all Note FE forum .. no news .. nothing at all . What do you think !!
Limitation number of sold phone is the reason. Even with stock phone, we dont have software support like S7e. Anyway, its ur choice. And would like to use Samsung services in their mobile device so i keep it non root.

Thanks. But I used to root my old note 3 with no problems in Samsung apps , also I got updates every time when I revert back to the original software. And as you said : there is no support beside updates are always very late.

That popular than the Note FE. And at the time of Note 3, there is no huge difference between root and non root about Samsung services. So u can compare these device. I also used S4 and my opinion is try to use Samsung device that official release in your country and not root it if u not have another High end Samsung Device ?

It's up to u. With customization, there will have substratum for that (at least it enough for most of people). With backup, u have cloud and SmartSwitch. And uptake, i think it really not necessary as Samsung Firmware is really good enough for most of situations. Basically, i dont see anything better if rooted Note FE.

But Google Pay wont have large number of accept place. Samsung Pay have large number of accepted place. Google Pay wont be affected by root. Samsung Pay, root mean lost forever.
So i think it will be very hard to decied root flagship Samsung device.
Unless you are a software developer there is no reason to actually root a modern android device. As the latest version of Android is pretty efficent.
Root is not really important for android user today. I just wonder why there are so few custom roms for note FE lol..
Root is for customization. Nowdays theres option to customize even if ur device is not rooted.
This is the only android device which I have not rooted as I find not that helpful as most of the feature and customization which we use to get through the root are already available even in the low spec phone
