Google Keyboard not capitalizing i correctly - Nexus 6P Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I have a Nexus 6P and for some reason the letter 'I' is not auto capitalizing when I type. It's driving me mad. I've gone as far as factory resetting my phone and it's still choosing lowercase.
example:
"Today i drove to work"
I have to manually select an uppercase I to get it correct

How to turn on word completion for email and stuff?

Wow this never uses word completion, it never helps me with any words! I see t9 in there, but it doesn't utilize it for emial, or anything I have used the phone for (unlike the Dash 1 and Q9h).
Any way to turn on word completion?
Well I see the options for it when texting under menu, but it stil does not try and finish words like even hello or anything, kind of annoying. It starts to show spelling options, but not a whole word.

Annoying behavior when backspacing..

So when I backspace sometimes its like the autocorrect mangles the word behind it.
For example if I type
"The cat jumps over the dog"
And try to backspace some of the word dog, it does this
"The cat jumps over thedo"
Then if I keep backspacing
"The cat jumps ocerthed"
"The cat jumpsocerthe"
It just keeps eating my words and merging them together!
I've changed to Hacker's Keyboard and I think that's fixed it, but why is the stock keyboard doing this to me

It's selecting the autocorrect word that it fixed. What happens is that when you type far enough for the device to figure out what you meant to say/spell then it fixes the word for you. Like it makes "thedo" into "the dog."
When autocorrect makes a change on its own from the incorrectly spelled word to the correct word, the default method of undoing the change is to press the backspace bar. Like if you type a friend's name, it may assume that you were typing a different word and screwed it up, then it will substitute what it thinks is correct, and the system is designed so that you can either "confirm" the change by pressing spacebar and typing the next word, or you can press backspace which is the default autocorrect "undo" button.
Now if autocorrect changed a word and you want it to stay that way, the easiest thing to do is hit the space bar twice and then backspace. Hitting the spacebar twice kind of seals the deal with the correction.
Once you get used to it, it becomes very natural.
However if you type well and do all your editing and proofreading yourself, you can just go to settings/language and keyboard/ touch input and uncheck the autocorrect options.

Ah ok, that makes sense.
Just a little strange it's not a little more user friendly.
Anyway I'm happy with Hackers' Keyboard now.
Surprised I haven't seen more complaints regarding this issue. Maybe other people have more accurate typing than me. I tend to not look at the keyboard but rather the text I'm writing.

Samsung keyboard auto replace bug

I have a Samsung Galaxy S7 edge and I'm experiencing a weird issue
If I like wright a word and it's spelt wrong it auto replaces the word but if the word was correct I can tap on the word and a dialog box with the original word pops up above the keyboard but today I saw that the dialog box appears underneath the Samsung keyboard.. the only fix is to reset the Samsung keyboard and it works again for a while then it happens again.. I really need a permanent fix for this because it's driving me nuts and it resets my learnt words Everytime..
Thanks in advance

LG Keyboard Autocorrect Issues

I'm loving the v20 so far and I wanted to keep the stock keyboard, but I've been forced to switch to Google Keyboard.
Problem: when I type something out and I make a mistake, the center suggested word is always the same word as my error and the word to the left is where the correctly spelled word is, therefore it never drops in when I press space bar and the original misspelled word remains.
For example, let's say I text "hapened." Instead of the suggested word in the center being "happened" therefore dropping in and correcting my error with the press of the space key, it's found on the left side of the three suggestions and "hapened" is found in the center, therefore making me have to press the left, correctly spelled suggested word in order to fix it.
I couldn't find any settings to fix the problem. Am I missing something? I really liked the LG keyboard. If anyone knows anything, let me know. Thanks.
This is my only reason for not using it. Seems like a fatal issue for a keyboard.
LG keyboard is retarded. Just install Google keyboard and call it a day.

Bingo. I tried to like it... But nope.
I have to agree. I think I installed Google Keyboard within 15 minutes after first boot up.
It is sad, but I installed the Google keyboard as well. I'm not a swype typer, but I got used to using the Swype keyboard on my Note Edge; but the Play Store doesn't list me as a Swype keyboard owner, so I'd have to buy it if I wanted it on my V20. I don't know that I am that enamored of it...

Keyboard (LG) completely stops typing letters at random

This has happened in Chrome browser. It may have happened elsewhere. What happens is, sometimes when I start typing ...say in XDA, or even Facebook, NOTHING types. The cursor will be blinking, ready to type...but ...nothing gets typed. The keys are popping up on the keyboard as my finger touches them, but the cursor never moves and nothing comes out on the text box.
Here's the weird part....numbers and symbols will type fine. Also if I press space bar 2 times, it will type ONE letter after that...and repeat. I figured out that when this happens, the only way to fix it is to turn the screen off and then back on again.
What the heck is this thing doing?
In the photo, note text typed that shows up in word prediction box..but no actual text in field. (Nevermind what I typed ?) ...this is what it keeps doing at random.
I cannot be the only one with this issue.
