My mobile phone Lava Iris 504Q is stuck with Lava logo and is not starting / moving further. When I try to do the factory reset, it gives an error everytime "Wiping data.....mount/data error". When I try to install a new rom (downloaded from XDA site only for Lava Iris 504Q), it gives me an error "Installation aborted" without any error code.
Please help me as I am in middle of nowhere. I am unable to start the phone, unable to factory reset and unable to install a new rom as well. Please advice.

Hello, and thank you for using XDA Assist!
Seems to me internal storage got damaged - I have seen that error before (and it means that the necessary partitions won't mount/map/initialize), but I haven't heard of any resolve from that.
If your recovery is custom (e.g. CWM or TWRP), you could do some diagnostics via adb (see what the error message you get when you force mount say, the userdata partition.
At any rate, I am forwarding this thread to the forum your device experts can be found in:

Please note, you will need to register for an XDA account to respond to replies.
Also, if you could share any modifications made to the device (root, custom recovery/ROM), that would help in the process.
Hope this helps, and good luck!

Hi, I was using the system provided recovery system (based on CWM). I have provided the URL where screenshot cab be found. If adb tool cab be used with this, please advice me how, as my phone is not proceeding further after Lava screen and I am not an expert into these things.
I am registered now and subscribed to this thread but unable to reply with following error message "To prevent spam on the XDA forums, ALL new users prevented from posting outside links in their messages. After approximately 10 posts, you will be able to post outside links. Thank you for understanding!", so I am replying as a guest again. My username is satyajit2008.
I already had the pre-installed OS, which I rooted 2 years back and everything was working. I downloaded MIUI OS for Lava Iris 504Q to increase the internal memory from 1 GB to more, from XDA site only. I went to recovery mode and reset the phone and wipe the cache memory, tried installing this ROM and got the error "Installation aborted". Restarted the phone and it was working like a new one. I thought of trying it again, so went to recovery mode and wipe the cache memory first, and try factory reset and got the error "data/mount" error. After this, the phone is not starting and I am stuck in loop.

Howdy all!
Did you install TWRP and then take the OTA, now you can't get your phone to boot normally, but you do see TWRP?
Here's the easy fix:
If you have ADB access, plug in your phone and run this:
Then you should be able to successfully reboot your phone via the TWRP menu option, or via a simple reboot command in adb.
If you DONT have ADB access (because of an early build of TWRP), you can simply use TWRP's awesome "terminal command" option to run the following:
You'll have to type that whole thing out, and be VERY careful with spaces and punctuation. One wrong letter and you could nuke your phone.
After that finishes, you can reboot and continue on your happy way!
Let me know if this helps anyone!
As usual, I'm on #lg-g2 in Freenode as IOMonster, if I'm around I'll be happy to help wherever I can.

try holding the power buttons for ten seconds or more if it boots into twrp and then just reflash your rom?

I screwed my phone too the day after I got lol but no worries its easy to fix. You just need to download a stock ROM and flash it, you don't even lose any data.
Just follow this simple guide.

Hello everyone, I'm new here
I have a Samsung galaxy grand2 SM-G7102.
I performed a root for my device (most probably with Kingo root), I cannot remember if I have unrooted it or not.
The device notified me about a firmware upgrade to kitkat, I tried it several times and failed after complete download.
A fail message from the device told me to use Samsung Kies to perform the upgrade.
after upgrade with Samsung Kies, I found the device with the following problems
- Hangs on start screen and takes too long to startup (about 20 minutes) and gets too hot- After startup, there is NO TOUCH. the device is not responding to touch, but the power and volume keys are working ( I can enter download or recovery boot)
I downloaded the official kitkat ROM for my device. and searched the forum to flash the ROM using Odin. I did flash the ROM several times with no success , I got the same result.
what can I do to get my device to work again?
thanks in advance
Hi amr
Sorry I have bad news
I hate to tell bad news but I feel I have to so you stop searching...
You bricked your screen touch by flashing a wrong root files...
I tell you this because I have the some problem with my galaxy star
Here is the solution from other forum
"Hi, I had the same problem and the only one solution I've tested is changing the touch driver on the touch module. All you need is a broken touch (the donor) and a lot of patience.
Step1. Disassemble the working phone.
Step2. Carefully take out the touch module (here you need a lot of patience and time). DON'T TRY to change the driver on the assembled phone because the display will be destroyed. I speak from experience.
Step3. After the module is out unplug the touch panel from the display and blend out the driver.
Step4. Now you can change the driver. NEVER try to change the driver when it is on the display.
Step5. After finished changing the driver repeat all the steps in the reverse order.
It is working 100%."
He said working 100% but I say do it at your own risk or just take your phone to repair

Thanks salimtn for your reply
BUT
FIRST: I forgot to mention that I have replaced the device touch (not the screen only the touch) with a non-original one.
SECOND: I searched the forum for a similar problem and I found a very similar one with galaxy mega here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-mega/help/galaxy-mega-4-4-2-4-4-4-touch-bootloop-t2922542
the guy made a video to fix the problem with software solution which can be summarized in the following:
- copied twrp recovery, update superuser, and a custom ROM called megafire - all zips - to internal phone memory
- installed philz touch with odin
- installed twrp through philz !!
and through twrp did the following
- update superuser
- wipe all caches
- factory reset
- installed ROM
- factory reset
AND it worked for him, I am new here, and I wish if someone can help me figure out a customization for this solution to match my Grand 2 problem, thanks again
My friend I had replaced the device touch too and this problem started on non officials touch
The problem now is how we could find this megafire ROM???
I have galaxy star and they didn't make for it a custom ROM yet
Any way a suggestion for you
Try to follow the process but instead of flashing mega fire ROM try cm11 or cm12 ROM or any other ROM and maybe you will be lucky
UPDATE
I saw the thread mentioned and the videos and they said you can use cm11 ROM so just check the thread again for proper procedure
Search grand 2 forum for philz and trwp recovery
Then go on and try
Just make sure you to choose the right recovery and supersu because some maid for 4.3 and some for 4.4

You could reboot the phone into recovery and connect the phone to the computer. You could then mount the USB storage onto the computer and simply copy paste the zip into the storage. Although I'm not up to date with the features of the current TWRP, but the mount USB storage option was present in a previous version of it. I dunno whether it's still there or not, but still worth a try.
Thanks a lot! it worked

It would greatly assist your cause if you would explain what "tricks" you have already tried - otherwise, how does anyone know which "tricks" to not suggest to you?
Best note 4/4x MTK twrp, works with OTA updates.
However, I prefer to root with Magisk, no problem with banking and other payment apps, with some good app modules within.

Hi everyone,
I am trying to unlock the bootloader of my Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 (X00TD) so I can then install TWRP and then LineageOS.
I followed all steps from the Wiki LineageOS, adb and fastboot work just fine (fyi my computer runs with Linux Manjaro).
The problem is happening when I try and execute the flash recovery command – I get an error message « flashing is not allowed in lock state ».
I think the Asus official unlocking app I used doesn’t work properly (ZB601KL_UnlockTool_9.2.0.0). When I agree to the terms and start the unlocking process, the app closes and nothing happens on my smartphone.
If anyone has an idea or knows another unlocking app or another process I should follow, I’d like to hear about it !
Thanks

usb debugging is enable in your device?
Hello. Yes Usb debugging mode is enabled, adb and fastboot command work fine.
You have to use the Bootloader unlocker app from Asus, hope you followed this link (https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/X00TD/install)
Once it is unlocked, you will see a message(a warning about unlocked bootloader) when you reboot the device.
I did this like two weeks ago, also I had to use twrp 3.4.0.0 from another source, as the 3.2.3 twrp was freezing with Max pro m1.
Hi. The Asus official unlock tool app has no effect, it can't verify my Google account, I think
this is the problem. Tonight I will try again by enabling the option "Allow less secure applications" in my Google account.
What do you think?
Thanks @mzs114, I will search for twrp 3.4.0.0
I did not have to verify my google account, just that it asked for the pattern/fingerprint verification, I think it did this in the background. And yeah, my account already has 'Allow less secure applications', as I use email clients.
The twrp was form this one, use this after you get the bootloader unlocked.

Hi, I tried again by enabling the option "Allow less secure applications" in my Google account but the unlocking still doesn't work
I don't know what more I can do...
are you sure you totally unlock the bootloader using the unlock file?
Hi everyone.
I finally managed to unlock the bootloader of my Asus, but using Windows. I didn't find other apps or Linux command to do it.
I followed the tuto of Sudeep Duhoon .
I installed recovery twrp 3.2.3 recommend by LineageOS
@mzs114 twrp 3.4.0 doesn't work on my X00TD , maybe only for X00T.
Now my Asus runs with LineageOS 16 and I discovered the Opensource App
Thank you all for your help !
