[Q] MIUI Scrolling Wallpaper

I just recently updated from 2.1.6: old to the new 2.1.20 MIUI for MM2, and i've found that the wallpaper doesn't scrolls anymore.
How can i re-enable this feature cause it was cool on their prior releases but for some strange reason there's no way to enable wallpaper scrolling in MIUI 2.1.20.

I found a temporary solution i notice after changing the wallpaper i change the home, to another or same:
Themes>Customize>Home>(change to whatever)
This seemed to work after a lot of fiddling, but i only have done it twice so far.
Let me know if it works...

Yea thanks, I was having the same issue. It wouldn't work with one home theme for some reason, I but when I did another similar one it would scroll

Everything works fine except the camera still can't take good picture without flash.
Still waiting a perfect Rom.

I am happy to know that Sense 4 camera works in 5m instead of 1m standard mode without flash.
Now I can use it as daily driver.

It works for the first photo, then the second is corrupted.
Still fine at 1M though.
EDIT : Turn off "Continuous Shooting" in settings - this fixes and 8M works great now - well done Ali!

Have tried and it really works.

Can someone give us an overall bug report on this ROM ? does the camera app crash? is there an update issue in Google PLAY ? how is battery life ? etc..

I don't agree that it is extremely buggy. I can say that the Rom maker is hard working and intelligent in solving the issues and solve it fast.
Now ther version is 2.1 already. Worth trying.

It is so far the best ROM for DHD with Sense 4.
However, the only shortcoming I'm facing which doesn't seem to be reported by anyone is the wifi won't scan when turned on and won't connect to any SSID immediately.

I don't have this wifi problem.

I've just tested this ROM and let me say it's pretty fast and smooth. Bugs : Play store apps update doesn't work, auto brightness has a mind of its own and facebook for htc sense seems to be missing.
Htc sense is reloading everytime I leave an app but I think this may be related to some I've done wrong.

I'm not having Wi-Fi related issues, you may be out of range of your access point.

1. impossible update Play Book,
2. impossible to change Screen Block Style
3. live screen "lava" non function
4. More application installed not see in Application list but only in Settings/application (ex. Play Books, Dropbox...)
for other is perfect

Same here, just installed this ROM today and all I have to say is it's amazing! Btw some guys on the development forums reported problems with the weather....what's wrong with it? I havent found a bug yet....

I use this rom, feeling pretty good, battery life less than a little arhd but sense 4 is fine.

How do I get flash to work without stutter?

I tried a few versions of flash but all the videos I try stutter very bad as they will play for a few seconds and pause play and pause constantly.
On my desktop with flash these videos work fine.
Tried many browsers with no success. Firefox, Ocean, Boar, Dolphin Pad.
Also I can't seem to go fullscreen without getting a black screen.
Anyone else experienced this and how do I fix it and what version actually works on 4.2.2?

It seems that I'm having quite similar issue - whenever I try to play some flash content, video doesn't play fluently - there are multiple framedrops and it's really hard to watch e.g. football games :/ What to do?
BTW: I'm also running official stock 4.2.2 JDQ39

Well considering flash is not supported in any way there is no guarantee of a fix for the issues you have. It is possible that you need more CPU speed when watching a flash video. Frame drops have been known to come from too low CPU speed. So set your up_threshold to be lower for your cpu governor and see if that helps.

I downloaded the last version of flash they made and side loaded it and use the factory browser to watch YouTube videos that aren't available for the mobile version of YouTube and I get zero stutter or problems of any kind. I'll try some other sites and report back though.

I have had the full screen issue for a long time and have more or less narrowed it down to different screen dpi. Check this out http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2217316
Use any PA type rom with tablet UI in hybrid settings and everything will work. I currently use Vanilla Rootbox, youtube works flawlessly.

Had a feeling it was DPI with full screen as some stuff in boat works full others don't every other browser doesn't like full screen.
I was thinking about trying some roms and seeing if flash works better as you can always go back to the stock firmware.
Noticed this tablet doesn't include that scaling option for apps where it stretches the app or extends etc.
As for me being a noob, I'm not new to android but haven't played with overclocks etc though have flashed and added a few apk's to a few roms before and know my way around the os file structure etc as well as knowing some stuff about linux and windows etc.
I just found it strange that I got this device installed flash and stuff wasn't fluent and pausing every few seconds when soo many around say that flash works perfect.
I had a Cube U30GT-H but it died within 1 week which had 4.1 and flash worked fine on that. So I figured this was mby 4.2.2 causing the issue or the stock rom and everyone using flash are on custom roms or something.

I wonder, could you get a copy of the plain old android browser that supports flash and install it? I can try it later for you if you want and let know you. I must go to bed now though

Ah skipped over your post, so it does work then

If anyone can look at things either that old browser or whatever would be appreciated.
Also we can find out what works for flash for users and have some proper compatibility list as I don't see much proper info online at all about flash on this device and compatibilities apart from users posts saying they have it working or whatever with no actual info to back themselves up.

Sometimes I have seen variances of a single flash version with file sizes and compatibility thats why I added the download link if you know it or upload your apk. Also what rom and its version you are running as thats important.

Tried a few different browsers and a couple of roms and nothing seems to really fix the issue so imo now flash just isn't worth it on the tablet.
Old browser on CM or AOKP doesn't work.
Ill try some different flash apk's at some stage on CM and see what the compatibility is as I had a similar issue on another tablet which turned out to be the certain apk files I had tried.
Seems the stutter might be live video as a transformer owner on another forum mentioned that does the same thing and thats what I have been testing to try to get working.
For youtube etc it may be that they are using different ways to transmit there videos so flash may not actually be active or something even on the desktop version of the site.
Its more confusing now as I was trying one site which stutters on the tab and fine on the pc for certain streams even though the quality is pretty low.

I found a app called Photon Flash Player and Browser it plays the flash streams perfect I've been trying without stutter.
Only problem it does not allow flash windows to be full screen and is very naggy about you buying a year subscription also you need to use a connected mouse if you want to do scrolling etc.
If there is anything thats alternative and less naggy etc then thats better but this is the only way I found to watch flash perfect as it actually works.
I'll keep looking and please comment back anyone using custom stock etc roms your flash experiences so we can actually get this issue solved for everyone.

How to: Read Manga on the e-ink display in 16 gray levels / tones mode

So you probably have noticed that the e-ink on the yotaphone2 has 2 modes. One is black and white and has a 8Hz refresh rate and the other mode has 16 different levels / tones of gray but has a very slow refresh rate of less than 2Hz.
So that is why when you work in mirroring mode, you will never see shades of gray but instead they just use dithering to make look like that when actually just using black and white.
This is good for responsiveness but its not what you want when you are trying to read a manga on the e-ink display / epd.
Fortunately, you can configure it easily so that it works in the slow mode.
You can do (even without root!) this by editing the following file on the sd-card: /storage/emulated/0/TitaniumManager/mirroring.cfg
This is exactly what the yotamirrorcfg program from this tread does.
However, the problem seems to be that this file needs to be edited differently for the same results depending on which firmware you have. So I wanted to post here what config I am using, or more precisely: what I added to the mirroring.cfg file for making manga look nice on the epd.
My firmware is the latest russian lollipop firmware (LRX21M.5.0.0-RU1.1.132) and I use mangarock for reading manga. I think this will work on any lollipop version higher than the 1.119 since after that they changed something about this config it seems.
On the 1.119 version, you can work with the program from this tread and just turn local refresh on.
Below is what I added to /storage/emulated/0/TitaniumManager/mirroring.cfg with a text editor.
The effect should be immediately visible after saving the edited file and turning (off and) on mirroring mode. I hope it helps some people, let me know if you find a better configuration or if you people want a new app for this, I can make one if I see it matters to a lot of people .

No its not a typo, now its already 134 by the way: check the screenshot. If you have RU firmware, it should give you the option to update from 124.

Yes it works for me on 1.134, it is possible though that the /storage/emulated/0/TitaniumManager/mirroring.cfg file was overwritten when you did the update so you have to edit it again...

Just change the package name to fit whatever app you want.. the link I gave above to API documentation show the options you can change.
You can find the package name by either looking in Settings on your phone or just by looking up the app on the Play Store.
For Marvel Unlimited it is: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.marvel.unlimited
Thus the com.marvel.unlimited is the app name.
So if you want the same settings that OP uses for his manga reader, just switch change the app name to the Marvel one:

Changes to mirroring.cfg take effect after closing and reopening the app you added a setting for.

Google Camera crashing

I picked up the OP6 Google Camera port from here: https://www.xda-developers.com/google-camera-port-hub/
Works occasionally, but a lot of the time the app crashes right after taking a pic. Anyone experiencing this?

I don't see crashes that much. But a lot of time on button click the shutter flicker but no photo is taken. There are many other stability issues like taking photo in moving vehicle doesn't seems to work. In my case HDR+ enhance works but normal HDR+ doesn't seems to capture any photo.

Hmm, weird. I can pretty consistently get a crash (especially when using front facing camera). Do you have location permission enabled? And any specific settings changed?

Looks like this version is older than the one on the page I posted. This one is version 6.1.009.x, whereas the other is 6.1.013.x. I tried the older version anyway, and still get the same crashes, unfortunately. I do have the T-Mobile variant of this phone. Worried that that's somehow causing the issue.

I experience the same crashes after trying to take a picture with all the versions of the port. I haven't really seen others who experience the same crashes. Still trying to figure out a diagnosis.

Now although I have the unlocked version, I am a T-Mobile customer. This seems to be causing the crashes. When I turn off my mobile data the app doesn't seem to crash anymore.
