[q] I NEED HELP ADDING MMS.APK FROM FASCINATE!!!!!!!!

I am atempting to install the mms.apk from the fascinate onto my epic.. It doesnt want to overite the original file. I like the messaging app from the fascinate better than epics. It has a better look in conversation mode.. Please help..

Send me a copy of the files and I will work on it over here.

Did you delete the original mms.apk and replace it with the one you want. Using root explorer makes it easier

Here try flashing this zip file ive attached

I tried flashing this zip .. It removed the original messaging app no icon.. But didnt install the fascinate one

Yea that's odd? Try using root explorer and see if that works. I'm not at my laptop right now to try it out

im gonna try root explorer .. I think it has to do with the actual mms.apk . Maybe it needs to be fixed.. Cause to my knowledge other apks that are transferred from another rom dont always work and need to be fixed or modded so they dont force close.. =( thank u for your effort i hope u get it working !

That was great.

As far as a solution to a not so savvy user. Use the sdx app. First copy the fascinate mms to your sdcard in the sdx backup folder. Then remove stock mms then restore faginate mms. Personally I use the eclair mms with no limit mod and inverted. (Black)

You are correct that this should be posted in the correct forum but there is a correct way of posting and you did come off as being a bit rude. I myself am frustrated by all these noobs not taking the time to read the forum rules regarding posting. Description:​The firefox alpha browser is not compatible with all of the current plugins available for the stable firefox browser that is already available on the market. Hello guys,
i have read that many people ask if you can use Samsung apps in CMA(AOPK) based roms. Yes it can, i try it my self and it works.

Rookie question, can some one point me to a thread or explain which build numbers play nice with each other and which I should treat as kryptonite? Been reading all night and pretty much confused the hell out of myself. Thanks to whom ever takes the time to hold my hand, lol, I've got the Sprint version and thanks again.

Usually devs put some informations [d802, etc..]
If unsure, asking is the best
But anyway there should be a check in aroma / cwm which will tell if it's ok to flash on your device.

Thanks, just had issues figuring what themes would be ok to coach, tried a couple zip themer ones and no dice. Other I lost the status and softkeys.

Don't bother! Fake and malicious files
Malicious site/link. Once you battle through the malicious pop ups and get to the actual download, the file that is trying to download is actual a .js (java script) file and NOT the rom file. So if you are insistent that your link is good then please keep it to yourself because this will cause people a LOT of grief if they click on the link in the OP.

Instead use this link . It is at least legitimate although you need to register in order to download it. Is all this worth it? Probably not.
