Hi All,
Just got my Nexus 6P from Google UK to replace my HTC One M8 GPE (Been an amazing phone. made better by GPE)
Anyway, I've enabled developer options, but can't for the life of me get System UI tuner to work, the settings symbol just wont spin at all, tried holding it for 2-3 seconds, 5 seconds and 10 seconds.
Also tried this on my HTC One M8 GPE, Nexus 9 and wont work on them either?
Any thoughts? got developer enabled on them all.
Took several tries for me to get it. Hard to see it spin with my fat finger on it.
it wont spin at all on any of the devices, I can hold it down so my finger is fully over it or I can hold it down so only part of finger is on it, but it wont spin.
Got it working, turns out you have to have animations turned on in developer settings for it to work.
I still want able to get the System UI Tuner to show up in settings after enabling animations. I don't know what else to try.

Never mind I got it to work. I had to turn off developer settings. Restart phone then use the normal method of turning it on. It worked fine after I did all that.

How did you disable the developer settings?
Go into Settings>Developer Options
And at the top there is an "On/Off" toggle. Then restart your phone. And do the method of enabling the "System UI."
Tried to get System UI Settings. . Nothing worked until I read posts above. But I also suggest that if you have shut off animations in Developer Options - return them to the default 1.0 so you can see the gear spin. Reset them after you get the System UI options.
I've got an updated to nougat p9 and it doesn't work at all
What I heard system UI is for the Google phones.
Guys My Device Shoes That System UI tuner has been Sucessfully Added to Setting But I Can't See It In Setting

You've got a few questions needing answered here, if you could provide more information, you'll get more direct responses.
As far as hybrid settings go, which ones are you attempting to change? Also, make sure when you go to settings/developer options, root is set to "apps & adb."

Wasnt aware of the apps and adb and now working perfectly
and for the other questions
I was able to disable the home button screen unlock and make only the power button to unlock my screen in the cm10.2
And am not able to find it in this rom
Also i am not able to completely disable the widget paper in the lock screen as it asks for adding new widgets in the lockscreen eventhough i have disabled the camera widget and all other widgets
Something i was able to do with the cm10.2
Other than that the rom is perfect:good:
Once again thank you for your very useful reply

Just got the color optimization OTA update on my phone. Its 138.43MB
Damn, just came here to post this! Just got the update notification as well!
Mine is 141.89 MB- installing now
---------- Post added at 07:48 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:39 AM ----------
The install was quick - took like 30 seconds
My Phone was on the Tmobile screen for 5 minutes
Also it did not prompt me for my pin at startup (like I have set) - looks like the update set it to "does not require" as default - just FYI if you have secure start up - you'll need to go back and set it again

My T-Mobile S8 also got the update this morning. I installed it and mine still prompted me to enter the pin saying your phone is security encrypted. Also after the update, I really don't see any improvement in the Display red tint adjustment range as mine seems to be about the same. The edge red tint adjustment does nothing to remove the red tinted edges on my S8.
My S8 wasn't serverly red tinted when I adjusted it before the update. After the update, I can't get it any better than the way it was before it seems. So the software update for me is a fail. How about all you other folks... you seeing any improvements (especially the red edges)? Although it is there, it does not bother the heck out of me and I could try to accept it. But I might decide to get Samsung to replace mine if they come out with a new batch that has a correct totally white screen balance all around the way it should be.
I had a slight red tint on the edge and set the "screen edge color adjustment" one notch towards "cool" and it looks better to me. Not sure if it's placebo or not though.
I'm on TMO S8 and I got the update. I've decided not to update until I see what it's about. Seems to me that I color correction would take about 25 Mb or less so seems a bit fishy to me. I found a root method for the S8 but I need to really study it before I try to do it and any updates may hinder the root process. Keep the info coming guys and I'll try the root soon but i do nned to make sure I can get back to stock before I do.
Since I have activated immersive mode (nav bar hides itself automatically) some of the apps just don't fill up the screen. I've tried to scale them with the built-in app scaling feature but some of the system apps (PlayStore, Chrome etc.) aren't shown in the list. Do you guys know a way to scale these apps? Thanks.
You can do this in the service menu, ie set so all apps are 18:9.
---------- Post added at 21:13 ---------- Previous post was at 21:11 ----------
BTW, do you get severe battery drain when you activate immersive mode?
I get about 10% per hour of drain

Can you please explain a bit more? Where do I find the service menu and what exactly do I have to do?
And I haven't noticed any severe battery drain. I use the app all "all in one gestures" to activate immersive mode. I know some people use another method to activate it and they're having battery issue but I'm not. This app is really stable and it doesn't even need root to do all the tricks.

For H870 enter the code *#546368#*870# in the dialer to get to service menu, then SVC menu / Force long display mode, and enable it.
I'll try that app instead, thanks.

Hmm, keyboard doesn't work in immersive mode when activated by All in one gestures.
How did you solve that?

I've never used the built-in keyboard so I didn't know about that. I've always used Gboard and it works for me just fine. It's really weird that you're having an issue with the keyboard since even the developer had state that it shouldn't be any issue
I gave some more permissions in ADB for it to work.
So after giving the app extra permissions to enable keyboard I get battery drain again.
Using Gboard as well.
How did you get the keyboard working without having setting permissions via ADB? @browy

I only go to the Settings apps, then Accessibility, under Services I just have to switch All in one Gestures to on.
But everything doesn't matter now. I dropped my phone today and it's now heavily damaged . Aluminium frame is bent, screen is shattered, part of the doesn't display properly. Maybe I'll switch to the Honor 9. Man, this phone is only 3 weeks old.
This seems to have started up recently when the screen is off and I can't quite figure out if its tied to the Google Play Services version or not. I'm on the latest beta of Google / GPS and it doesn't seem to be working on Oreo.
Curious if this has happened to anyone else?
I'm on GPS 11.9.73 and I think it ties more into that
Doesn't work here & seems to have been removed from settings

Google Assistant settings are accessed from the Google Assistant app. And, even though it's set to unlock the phone on hearinh "OK Google, it doesn't. Just brings up the unlock keypad
My settings still does say screen off as well.

Go to security/smart lock and see if trusted voice is in the menu. There may be an app not playing nice with smart lock. If greenify isn't set up right it can cause this issue.
It is in the menu and brings me to my screenshot from above. No Greenify or any doze/power saving changes
Edit - annnnd out of nowhere it starts working again 3 hours later

Annnnd, also out of nowhere, it's working here, too.
Interesting, too, it that the "Settings">"Smart Lock" page is no longer blank:
A lot of the setting don't seem to work for whatever reason. Like limiting background processes just..doesn't.
The only fix there is for this is to turn off smartlock by going to setting, security, and trust agents then turn it off and restart the phone then re enable the smart Lock
Hello everyone, I recently got a used Trek 2 from Ebay for one of my children. When I turned it on it was already on the home screen and the keyboard was registering phantom touches so I did a factory reset. I went through the usual Google sign in and after that was complete the AT&T setup and transfer app started. It offers to either let you get a setup from a QR code or skip. Pressing skip leads you to a screen that tells you there are no apps available and to check back later. There's a button at the bottom that says install but it doesn't react to touch. The pull down menu doesn't work and out of the home buttons only the back arrow is visible and it disappears once you get to the start screen of the AT&T app. So it starts but it gets stuck. Any ideas?
I flashed the stock firmware from this forum via sdcard update. Same results. Thought it might be a child account being a problem, mine hits the same wall. I'm thinking I might need a custom ROM but I'm not sure if I can unlock the boot loader without being able to get to the developer options.
fixed
Just solved this issue after my son factory reset his tablet, and I was stuck on that AT&T app.
Follow this YouTube to enable Talkbalk, and work your way to the setting screen.
Search for " ZTE K88 7.1.1 Bypass" on YouTube, sorry can't post urls. Basically it shows you some gestures for the initial Google setup launch page that enables TalkBack. From there you can get into Settings and disable that damn AT&T app.
Go to Settings/Apps and find that At&T app and force close and choose disable. I actually did it to all the at&t apps.
Now is also a good time to enable developer mode and turn ADB debugging on.
Then just back out of the settings and it'll take you back into the Google setup. It will go thru fine, and that AT&T setup will just not load at all. So it will finish and you will arrive at your home screen!
Hope that helps!
---------- Post added at 12:40 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:38 PM ----------
If you are NOT on 7.1.1 there are other YouTube bypass videos that will accomplish the same thing (getting to your settings.)
Put any sim card in the tablet and you will be able to complete setup
