Disconnect Tone after Missed Call in Silent/None Mode - Droid Turbo 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Within my family we have 4 Turbo 2s and this issue happens to all of our phones.
Once someone calls when the phone is Silent / "None" mode, I receive a call ended/disconnect tone for the missed calls. This occurs when the caller hangs up. We are all familiar with this sound which occurs when we end a call but this happens despite the phone being in priority or none silent mode.
This tone is quiet but enough to disturb my sleep or my wife's sleep. Because of this glitch I haven't found a solution yet that can completely silence incoming calls short of using airplane mode or turning the phone off.
I am surprised this issue hasn't received more attention or is the issue a none issue for people? For us light sleepers this a true issue and would really appreciate any help at all that can be given.
Suggestions given in the Motorola Forum are the following:
"Under Settings> Sounds & Notification> scroll to the bottom and see if "call connect tone" is checked. If so, uncheck and try to duplicate the issue."
"OK, try this: navigate to Settings> Apps> at the top, scroll to ALL> Go to Dialer> Select CLEAR DATA. Page back to the "ALL" apps list, Repeat for EACH listing you have for "PHONE". I have three listings. If Clear Data is not available, press "Force Stop", then once complete, press the Home button, then press and HOLD the power button until the phone reboots."
Both of these suggestions DO NOT work. Please help! Thank you in advance.

Stopping Vibrate When Wi-Fi Is Turned On

I was wondering if anyone knew a registry tweak that would STOP the phone from vibrating (3-4 vibrates ANNOY me ) when you turn the Wi-Fi switch on, on the side of the phone? Thnx
mine doesn't do that... strange?
It's only when the phone is on "vibrate"
maybe there's a noise that you have set to play when wifi is switched, and since you're on vibe, it will vibrate instead.
As I said, I don't have this problem, and neither does anyone I know who has this device.
Then again, we're all professional types who turn off the keytones and sliding sounds right away. Maybe that has to do with it.
is vibrating when you turn the wrieless on
or is it when it finds a wireless ap
I would try in your sounds and notificatins goto notifications
in the selection list select "wireless network detected", make sure the vibrate button is not ticked
Yeah, I don't know what you have set up because mine definitely doesn't do that, even when the phone is on vibrate.

Vibration in SILENT MODE?

I hate vibration on phones. Period. Hate it. I must be doing something wrong because when I silence my phone, it always seems to vibrate when I get a phone call.
This is how I am setting my HD2 to silent:
Scroll over to setting Tab in manila>Sound & Display>Check Silent.
Sometimes I like to play music (with HD2 in pocket) while I am doing my work but don't want to be interrupted with a vibration from phone call, so I use the hardware button to lower volume to zero (Not pressing the silent button) while keeping system's volume up so I can hear the music.
No matter what, I my HD2 still vibrates when I get a phone call.
Help me get rid of the Vibrations!!
Actually I was just hunting for a solution to this.
I don't understand what the point of having separate options for "silent" and "vibrate" are when silent also vibrates?
I have no issue with vibration for other reasons - I just want silent to be just that; when I want it to vibrate I would select vibrate....
When you check 'silent', scroll down to 'notification sounds' and in there you'll probably see the slider is set to vibrate. turn it off there and see if that works

When I do this, or press a volume key and tap "Silent" at the bottom of the volume screen, my phone stays correctly silent with no vibration.
My usual ring settings are even on "vibrate and ring".

Really Annoying

So far I like this phone alot. However my biggest complaint is this:
When you go to messages and click on someone to go send a text and you start typing on the hard keyboard only to look at screen and nothing is there. Why does it not automatically select the box so that you just start typing and go. I do not want to physically tap that box every time I want to start texting. My G1 does it, why doesnt this?
Am I the only one?
Mine automatically goes to the text box after selecting one contact. If I click the To box to add another recipient, it stays in the To box once a contact is selected. This is exactly how my G1 did it. Check the Input Method you're using... I'm finding many strange things based on which keyboard I have selected, regardless whether I am using the hardware keyboard or not. I currently am on Touch Input, and it is working the way you want it to right now.
When im creating a new message to a new contact then yes after selecting a contact it switches to the compose box. I am referring to conversations I already have currently. When Im in messages I have like 4 threads/conversations... with phone horizontal and slide open ready to type with hardware keyboard... I click on my gf's name/thread. When its done loading it i have to manually tap the compose box every time. If my phone goes into sleep mode with that window still there then of course when i power on the phone it will still be selected on the compose box. I tried this with different keyboards and different settings. I checked it with every conversation/thread. I pushed back clicked a new person/conversation and low and behold same thing. It never automatically selects it so i can just click somenes name/conversation and start typing with hardware keyboard
Another thing I find is that if i start typing something phone goes into sleep power back on and phone changes from portrait to landscape it erases my msg that i was currently engaged in. And I dont mean drafts either
Appreciate the help btw : )
Oh I see... yes, mine also doesn't auto focus to the message box... Interesting. I can't recall how my G1 handled that, but I am sure it was the same as your. Not sure what to tell ya there then. The only other suggestion, and this depends on how you get to your messages, but if I open Messages, I can long press on the message and choose Reply, and then the message box is auto-focused...
I just tested it out on my G1 and it autofocuses on the texting box every time. sigh...
I use the google voice app for messaging, but one thing I noticed last night is that holding the VOLUME DOWN button will only turn the ringer "down" to vibrate. On my G1, it would go all the way to silent.
In order to get it to silent you have to hold the lock/power button on the top, select Silent Mode, and then press the volume button once to get the "silent icon" to show up in the top bar.
found another bug:
When in wireless setting, wi-fi settings, menu, advanced setting, ipaddress. when trying to set ip address all the numbers are screwed up 1 becomes 7 2 becomes 9.......? only way to get it correct is to use FN key. Even using FN key twice causes them to be messed up

mine goes to silent mode if you don't go all the way to vibrate with the volume rocker.

LOL this ... Silent mode is above vibrate
Sure enough, you guys are right! Strange, so now it is Vibrate -> Silent -> Volume levels, my G1 was Silent -> Vibrate -> Volume levels

I'm sure this was intentional, and I for one like the change. My phone is either ringer volume to the max, or vibrate. I have no use for no ringer and no vibrate mode. So it's convenient for me to simply hold the Vol- key all the way and it goes right to Vibrate, no more having to go + once to get vibrate now

I agree. I can't tell you how many times I accidentally put my G1 on silent and not realized it. It's still possible though, but I think it less likely since vibrate is the lowest option.
I'd actually prefer if silent wasn't even on the volume rocker. I've hardly ever used it and if I ever need it, I have no problem holding the power button and selecting silent on-screen.

Screen switch-off during calls, doesn't switch back on when trying to get to dialpad

Hi All,
I've noticed this happen a few times now on my handset (XT1622 - Dual SIM, direct from Moto UK) where during a call, I need to enter a number for a menu option (i.e. Dial '1' for sales, '2' for tech support, etc) bu the screen does not switch back on. This also means I'm not able to end calls. The only remedy appears to be to reboot the device with a long power button press.
Anyone else have similar issues?
Appears to have been a strange bug with the Moto app. I disabled 'flip for do not disturb' and 'pick up to stop ringing' and it stopped permanently blanking the screen. Switched them back on and it's still working :/

S20+ Locking Up During Calls

Anyone having this problem? All of a sudden when I either receive a call or place a call, the Call app that does the overlay locks up and the screen goes completely unresponsive. I can't answer the call (except via a bluetooth device). Likewise with hanging up. I can't press the buttons to turn on speaker -- nothing works. The notification comes up green during a call with the phone icon, but no text.
Eventually: "Call is not responding" pops up, and I'm given the options to Wait or End the app. Ending the app sees it restart immediately and become unresponsive again. Rebooting the phone or waiting for the call to disconnect are my only ways out.
Beyond frustrating! Any ideas? HELP & thanks!
-David
