Audio out through USB C
Hi,
I have an Oppo HA-2 that I want to use with my N6P. The Oppo has a micro-USB that normally plugs into the phone's USB. Oppo said that I would only need an micro-usb to usb C adapter, so I bought this TechMatte USB Type C to Micro USB Convert Connector from Amazon.
It doesn't work and the company said it doesn't support audio pass-through. Does anyone know where to get a USB C/micro-USB cable with audio support?
Thanks

You will need a microUSB to USB-C OTG adapter.
http://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/...3HVX405LRLLNY&psc=1&ref_=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl
This one will probably work. I found another and I'll wait until I get it to post.
I received this today and can confirm it works with my Fiio E17. It even alows to charge the amp from the phone if you want. I forgot till I actually looked at it that the Fiio has a mini USB B. Even contacted Cable Matters about it before I ordered and they say it is USB C compliant. Excellent customer service. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00UUBS0SS/ref=ya_aw_od_pi?ie=UTF8&psc=1

So I would assume that if you choose the one for micro USB it would also work.

I'm a little confused. Won't the Slimport cable and OTG cable need a seperate mini-USB connection? Unless there is an OTG cable that has some sort of Y-port I'm not aware of or there is a Slimport with similar Y-port I can't see how they could work at the same time with the LG. The connections just aren't... oh...
If you do get some converters of USB male on one end and mini-USB female on the other you could get them to connect but I have no idea if that would work since I don't know nearly enough about the electronics of these devices.
Good luck on your project.

Slimport isnt a cable as much as an adapter. Slimport is like mhl adapter, has a mail microusb to plug into phone, then a female microusb out the side, and female HDMI out the end.... pretty standard fair ... but no op, haven't tried it...
The slimport I've seen online had the electronic guts section with a cable attached. I know what you mean in that it's a device that functions as an adapter, but there are at least some versions that have a flexible cable on the USB end of it.
Your point is made however.
So, OP (or anybody else) did slimport + usb-otg work for you?
Hi, what do you think about this -> http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/For-LG-G3...448165?hash=item1a0294aea5:g:u~IAAOSw-vlVlj7V ?
Would love to know if anyone has solved this in the last four years. Will generic hdmi/usb to micro-usb work? Do MHL hdmi/usb hubs work at all? Is there anyway to get that Ebay item listed above that is long-since unlisted?
Hello
Apologies if this has been asked before. I can't find a definitive answer...
Has anyone managed to get access to an USB memory stick on the OnePlus 2 actually working?
I've just received my OnePlus 2 and have rooted it etc. I have bought a couple of USB type C to USB A female sockets, both claiming to support OTG. However, neither of them appear to work. I've tried with a number of different USB sticks, some of them with indicator LEDs on them. When plugging them in, the LED indicator stays off and there is no extra drive in settings/storage, even after ticking the OTG check box.
I have booted to TWRP recovery and tried to mount the OTG storage. The phone vibrates and the check box immediately disappears...
I'm not sure if I'm missing something here!
The two items I have tried are:
1. http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00VGF2UPQ
2. http://m.belkin.com/uk/p/P-F2CU036/
Thanks for your time

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00W5BL1N2?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00XLF1BZ4?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00
Neither seem to work for me? I am trying to connect to a flight control board, so using a normal USB -> Micro USB, but the boards in question do not receive any power, nevermind data!
Any ideas?
Grr....
it seems that the problem is that does not support USB 3.1 (and do not know if not 3.0), the adapter must be old (not blue)
Both the OTG adapters I have support USB 2.0/3.0 and 3.1, but neither of them work.
What you are saying is you need a USB Type-C 2.0 adapter? Not seen those anywhere, are you sure they exist?
Same here. Doesn't work, using an adapter with a micro USB OTG cable doesn't work (this combo cable/Kingston USB 3 key works very well with OPO)
And it doesn't work either with this OTG cable

Stupid question but did you guys enabled otg option in your storage settings. I just received my Oneplus 2 yesterday and I saw that setting and enabled it. I am still waiting for OPO's C adapter that's out of stock on Amazon India and only then I can verify whether that really does make a different or not.

I've got similar issues. Tried using a proper Duo USB flash drive (USB one side..and Type-C on the other) and nothing. Tried OTG cable that I got online...and it fails to detect.

It's not looking good....

What do you mean by the c-adapter? How do you connect it? C-adapter connect to an OTG? Or the OTG is integrated with c-adapter in it?
Cus I bought a separate c-adapter then connect to my micro USB OTG cable..
Hey there
I was thinking of getting a OPT and all the features seem to be quite pleasing
But there's this one thing that's been bugging me, Apparently the OPT has a USB Type-C port, so in case if i lose the cable that came in with the Device, can i still use a USB Micro-B Cable from my previous phones or do i HAVE to get a new Type-C cable ?

You can't use USB Type B cables on OP2.Either you have to buy a Type C Adapter or a Type C cable.

hey,
normally you would need an otg cable to drive an external usb dac.
does it make a difference, that this phone has no headphone jack

an otg cable?

if only using an USB-C to 3,5mm adapter you don´t but for any DAC you need an OTG AdapterCable.
just for reference i use this one and it works perfectly:
http://hifimediy.com/DACs/ready-made-dacs/Sabre-9018-Type-C-DAC
thanks for your answer!
but are usb-c to 3.5 adapters basically dac's?
although they then probably also just use an otg cable
this is the one i am planning to use with me pro 3 when it arrives: http://www.head-fi.org/products/cozoy-aegis-portable-24-192-dac-amp

The one include with the S7 (micro USB to USB) was OTG capable. Most likely this one is also. Sorry I can't confirm yet.
Logically, is there much other use for a usb-c to female usb-a other than device to device power transfer and otg?

in the unboxing i've seen, there at 2 include connectors: a micro usb to usb-c and a fullsize usb-a to usb-c. the picture on page 12 refers to using the included cable and the small adapter to charge the phone (seems odd....). On page 18 there's a diagram showing the other one in use for for device to device data transfer in conjunction with the other phone's usb cable
The micro-usb to usb-c is obviously not USB OTG compatible.
The larger usb-c to usb-a is OTG compatible (and used for smartswitch as well).
what above says. the message is specific to the Micro USB connector and not any other OTG cables.

I plugged USB stick into all my other Samsung phones and it always work, not sure why it wouldn't work on S8, with one exception: phone doesn't recognize NTFS out of the box, but you can download driver and then it works with NTFS as well. But to be honest Android file access is a nightmare IMO, so much simpler to plug the phone into computer and do whatever from Windows, but again be careful, if you move files around, they're not updating right away and you may get confused as to where the files are.
