I just bought the Redmi 2 for my father and need help setting it up.
I want to make complete backup (nand) of the phone before I do changes to the system.
Then I want to flash a stable rom while keeping all features.
Root is also important.
How do I do all that?
Please help me, I been doing all this on my Samsung phones but there I found many
detailed guides where with Xiaomi I have issues finding guides. Also when I find something its
like 8 months old so I am not sure if that would still work or brick the phone.

I dont know exactly which version of the phone i got and what steps i need to take
to get to CyanogenMod mod. Please help me.

your phone is redmi note wcdma. and you never update the os (miui ver 29). use cm11. i think there is rom for redmi note wcdma. try googling or find it on taptalk.

Ur phone is a MTK version...I think that's no CM ROM for redmI note 3g if I'm not mistaken
Edit: I found a cm11 ROM in miui forum

I've been out of the loop lately but I've had my note 3 for a while, originally it was on a Samsung based kitkat rom, after that I flashed a Cyanogenmod based lollipop rom.
Currently I've been using the Cyangonmod based rom for a few months and I want to switch to a Samsung based lollipop rom but I'm confused about my next steps? What should I be doing, is there anything i need to do to prepare before flashing the samsung based rom in recovery.

Hey guys! I'm new to XDA, but not too new to Roms. I've had an OG Motorola Droid, Droid 4, Galaxy S4, and Note 4, all running custom roms. But I had a question about aosp roms for my phone in general, and after a while of searching I can't seem to find an answer.
I used to use a few of the Samsung apps that came stock, but now with my new rom I can't because Samsung doesn't recognize my phone as a Samsung anymore. Is there any way of tweaking it to thinking it's a Note 4 again? Mainly I want to be able to use the Samsung Pay and S Health again.

Hi i might be late and behind but i recently got Samsung galaxt s5 duos SM-G900FD (klteduos). I have experience in rooting (mi a2 lite) but I am just so confuse about this samsung device because there are alot of guides but has different model and codename. I got the phone last week and now I want to install a custom rom, more precisely /e/ Android from e.foundation . This means that there could be problems if the phone was delivered with Android 10.
But I can't find anything more precise, only that it has a super partition and that would be a problem.
How can I understand that? Can I still install TWRP according to the instructions of xiaomi.eu? Or are there other procedures?
Simply put, are there any differences between the Note 9pro models that came with Android 9 and Note 9pro models that came with Android 10?
My goal is an evilGoogle free Android phone with root and TWRP installed.
