[SOLVED] Wifi wont connect, followed by crashing. - Nexus 6P Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello all, I got my nexus 6P a few weeks ago and rooted w/ twrp since that day. Everything was great up until this morning;
I can't connect to any wifi networks, and when I try to after awhile the screen goes completely unresponsive followed by a crash and reboot after a while.
If I turn wifi off there's no crash and it works fine. But a soon as I turn it on there's issues.
I tried returning to stock, and it is able to connect to wifi (Not any 5ghz aps) but still gets unresponsive and crashes after a while.
I rerooted, twrp, ect, and am back in the same boat, wifi won't connect, I can see aps (Sometimes) but it refuses to connect to any, and then gets laggy and unresponsive.
as long as I don't turn on wifi, it works fine, which is super freaking weird...
Here is a logcat from boot to the crash, if it'll help someone help me try to determine the issue...

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

This is getting frustrating...

Welp spent a bit on the phone with Google and I'm getting a replacement.

YouTube Not connecting Problems

Hey Everyone,
I currently running Artemis_v100_WWE_210_23563 on my HD2, everything is going great except the YouTube app. Every time i try to play a video it seems to state "Connection failed. Please try again." only while I'm connect to wifi. Seems to work with my EDGE though for a little while and then it keeps showing that message. I've noticed if i hard reset my phone, it works amazingly for a good hour and then, if i trigger the wifi off, and use EDGE it starts causing issues, and when i try to re-enable wifi and use YouTube, it fails and never work again. Every time i hard reset the phone it seems to solve the problem for a little while, and then it goes back to the usual message.
I did not install anything on the phone when this occurred, and also turned off my network and only had wifi and its not working. It will work for a while like i stated with no network off immediately after i hard reset my phone but after i turn off the wifi and turn it back on it doesn't seem to work.
My internet and all other things work on the phone perfectly fine. Has anyone encountered this issue?
Current YouTube Version is 2.6
Anyone got any ideas?

my does the same thing i want to know why too

I had this same problem... I had to delete a proxy registry entry for it to work correctly! I forget which one... Do a search for it and you should find it here in the forums...

4.4.2 Starting to become a bit buggy?

I've had the 4.4.2 OTA about 2-3 weeks now, and for the most part its worked fine but as things go on I am noticing it starting to go a bit buggy. I have had issues with my Wifi, like this morning turned the phone on and it would not connect to my wifi, sure it saw it and it had full strenght but it would not connect to it, I went in manually and selected it nope nothing, I forgot network and connected again, nope nothing, restarted the phone nope, after 5 restarts it connected. I've also had issues with wifi connecting when coming out of airplane mode, everything else turns on but I have to mess around with wifi to get it going again.
Also had issues with apps crashing randomly, also had periods of sluggishness for no apparent reasons.
Anyone any ideas?
About the Wifi, try the Wi-Fi fix in this forum, maybe that'll help. For me stock is going absolutely fine. I was on OmniROM, but the updates start becoming a little buggy for me, so I switched back to Stock.

[Q] Wifi isn't turning on/ not working properly

So i remember that i just rebooted my device and next thing i know is, wifi is stuck with 'WiFi is turning on'
Things i have tried to fix it : factory reset, hard reset and when none worked, paid a visit to lg service centre where it started working automatically. Came home, worked just fine but for 2 days.
Now it's been a week. I even flashed stock rom thinking it might be 4.4 rom issue. And nnope. Sane issue. So i guess that means is isnt software issue.
BUT here's what happens. Same modem, mother's galaxy mega2 connects, her laptop connects. I today tried connecting my phone to her phone's hotspot and it connected in first try. Confusion is, i don't know if it's modem that's faulty or phone ( idk if software or hardware )
Also, i noticed when i try to turn on wifi now, it shows no connection available and the wifi icon in drop down menu keeps blinking without being blue. I think it should just turn blue even if there if no wifi to be detected. Sometimes it stops blinking and doesnt turn blue still
It's so confusing
Any help will be much appreciated !
hi, it has almost been two years, did you fix the problem meantime?

Yu Yureka WiFi Issue

I have been using Yu Yureka for almost 9 moths now.
I was not having any other issue till last month.
But since last month, I am facing issues with my WiFi.
Few weeks ago, I was using my phone casually and everything was fine, but suddenly my WiFi got disconnected automatically. I just opened WiFi setting and seen that my router was visible.I just tried to reconnect it and it successfully got connected.
Then for some few days, this same issue was there. It just use to get disconnected oftenly.
But every time I open up my setting and after reconnecting it use to work fine.
Then after a couple of days later it as usually got disconnected and hence I opened settings again. This time, my router was not visible, even though the router was connected with my laptop.
So I rebooted my phone and got back to settings.
This time, WiFi was switched off and it was not turning on.
I tried to reboot my phone.
And after couple of reboot, it was switched on and I reconnect it.
It was annoying and I was fed up of this.
I was running official 5.0.2 cm12.
I choose to flash the latest official cm12.1 5.1.1 ,just because I thought it will help me out with this issue (yes my phone is rooted and have twrp installed).
After formatting my phone completely and flashing cm12.1 on cm12, I was hoping that now the issue will be gone but it was still there.
Conditions had gone worse.
Now it was disconnecting even more frequently.
So I decided to just wipe the system partition completely and install the ROM again.
I again flashed cm12.1
But condition gone worst.
Now at present,
My phone disconnects the WiFi as soon as I stop using the internet (as soon as phone stops receiving data from internet).
And once it disconnects, It doesn't show up any WiFi access point and I got to reboot the phone 3-5 times and there comes a reboot when the phone freezes for 5 seconds and again reboot 2 times by itself without me doing anything to it.
Then it turn on the WiFi automatically and I just have to go to setting to connect it to my router and it got connected.
If anyone have any solution regarding this issue, please help!
Facing the same issue, did you get any solution?
Head to service centre, I think its hardware issue not of software related.

Wifi stop working in sleep and after waking up

Hi, im having this problem for a while, and some other phones are showing this problem also (here)
in summary, phone connect to WiFi, works great, turn screen off, put phone down, and after a while, phone is now unreachable. can't connect to it if i have a ftp server on it for example, can't connect on whatsapp on the PC cause it need the phone connected to work, messages won't arrive, or arrive after 15 minutes of delay.
if i pick up the phone, unlock, WiFi does not work, it keep showing only the "up" arrow and no "download" arrow. can't connect to internet, can't connect to local PC (VNC for example) nothing works. after 30 seconds or so, it comes back, and internet works. sometimes it does not. disabling WiFi and enabling again, everything works fine. if put to sleep, everything start again.
the weird thing is, usually after update to a new version of MIUI (for example, the last 12.0.5.0 a few weeks ago) the problem goes away for a few days. always works great, every time, no problems. a few days later, the problem appears again.
tried everything i could find, no option helped, tried even disabling magisk/xposed, etc, to make sure no "mod" was causing it, nothing.
my only options now are formatting and starting from 0 or try another ROM, like LineageOS, but i'm trying to avoid cause i have tons of customized apps, bunch of banking apps, and everything works fine, except for this one problem.
any help appreciated!
PS: during the whole time, the wifi do not get "disconnected", it remains connected but not working. also tried different routers, no change. using only 2.4ghz.
I installed Lineage OS, the problem didn't show up anymore.
installed all the apps previously installed, everything still working fine for over a week.
I guess was just software related...
