Hi guys,
I tried to change my DPI with the adb method, i tried 540,n520 and 480, 480 was great but the TW ui was not scaling as well so i wanted to go back to stock, so i did this :
adb shell wm density 640
But now all is too much bigger than the stock, even the policy, and the icons theme changed i don't know why and the camera app is force closing.
Do you know what can i do to get back to stock DPI ?
I'm not rooted.
Anyone ? please
Tw doesn't support 480 dpi. Go back to normal 560 dpi or download nova launcher if you want less than 480 dpi.
Stock is 560 on the S6 edge plus, not 640. Also keep in mind many of the Samsung apps misbehave or force close if you change the DPI

The new marshmallow 6.01 update works better now on low dpi on s7 edge it does so should be same for s6 edge plus.

Hi all,
My new phone did not survive a single day without (towel-)root. So after getting root, I was thinking about changing DPI.
default in /system/build.prop is 480. I changed it to 360 and 420, both seems fine for the GS5. As a scale referenced I used values from http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-nexus/general/info-official-galaxy-nexus-lcd-density-t1392089 - my Galaxy Nexus is running at 246 just fine.
But sadly, the stock lock screen is now shifted left. Any idea how I can replace the stock lock screen with another fingerprint-ready lock screen? A lock screen with 4x4 pattern would also do.
Thanks in advance.
PS: If I have time, I will make a thread similar to the linked above.
Is the camera workin properly on 360 and 420? thanks and the phone keypad?
I may be wrong but as far as i know you have to edit SystemUI for the lockscreen to look correct, or you can use app settings from xposed to change SystemUI back to 480 but that changes more than the lockscreen. As for camera and keypad, those need to be changed back to 480 in app settings, i wouldnt say its required but its not going to work very well on anything but stock dpi, i personally run 320.

This is quick reference to using S5 apps installed on Samsung site using Galaxy Apps, it works until some one directly ports apps for the Note 8.0. Though once using specially ported apps, you must revert to my settings to use any updated apps from Samsung.
OK, I default my Android System to 220dpi 800x1280 resolution.
So at least one S5 app will use that setting properly, the others that I currently use have separate settings.
Bubbles, Contacts, Camera... etc. Will need 213dpi 800x1280 resolution. Most of the apps that loose their unique icon or change completely like Downloads, and SoftwareUpadate will need the setting changed, if doing my method of system adjustments. Video looks best at 215dpi 1280x800 and VideoPlayer at 213dpi Default.
SystemUI can be left alone, but Settings, MediaStorage, MediaProvider need to be set to 213dpi 800x1280 as well with the system apps that are JB transfers from past F/W, when using my optional SystemUI override.
Internet (Sbrowser), S Voice, Splanner, Snote, Studio, and S Finder and other Samsung apps that don't play well with stock resolution look stock at 220dpi 800x1280 or leave alone if using my Android System setting.
SideSync for example will not allow you to cancel or close out of the app if not set at 220dpi 1000x1600.
TouchwizHome can be left alone, but I use 215dpi 1000x1600 as 800x1280 breaks TWlauncher, so I can have single column mini drawer like JB style.
Camera (ported) 340 and Default.
Milk Video 340dpi and Default, if not used you get 2 extra frames which I think is cool on a tablet.
Whoa, I discovered you can do a simpler method to set proper DPI for just S5 apps only. Though it will kill S5 browser from running on default system DPI and TW display settings. My original setup has been tweaked to give more display area, like an oversized s4 display. Smaller font scale and buttons by using 4.2.2 DPI to be the android system default. I rounded up from 187 to 190 at 1280x800. For the downloadable stock S5 apps, when using build.prop edits, set DPI at 190 and default as the resolution. The downloadable stock apps are SNote via update, Studio via update, S Voice via update, and Side Sync via update. The other downloadables from play store are, Milk and Milk Music, and operate well at 255 DPI at default. S Finder and Group Play with Cam updates run at 220 DPI at Default. OCR update accepts 300 DPI at default. All other apps that are not updated by server, may need some tweaking to fit your taste.
I figure S5 browser not running on default DPI and resolution of the tablet is from stock TW launcher. As I am only able to run it with stock launcher set at 215 DPI @ 1600x1000, though DPI can be any reasonable value. I use 222 to stretch as far as I can.
any advice to edit the screen resolution dpi yet maintenance the moto display center layout.
I had change to 540 ppi and it look good but moto display and certain apps get out of demension.
The default 640 dpi look terrible.
I had edit ro.sf.lcd_density=540 and use framework apps setting and force clock to 640. working perfectly fine now. thanks

Hello I wanna change a DPI of 3 apps settings contacts and messages.
I have them as a tablet ui, the size is good. But I'm sure making them smaller will be better
As we know xposed doesn't works yet for nougat.
So any alternative for per app DPI?
Thanks
Just had a keyboard & touchwiz update and now my dpi is messed up, it was set at 480 in developer settings but it moves everything to the left?? The only was to get back to normal is to return dpi to 411, but everything seems so big
Any body else having this
Huh, stock dpi was 360 on mine (changed it to 390)
