I am using t810 with latest firmware. When I don't use my tablet, I turn it off, for example I turn it on for Internet browsing and then when I go out I turn it off until I need it again.
I can't get more than 5,30-6 hours sot, with most of time Internet browsing and 10-15minutes of gaming.. I think battery life is worse than Galaxy tab s...
I get 7 hours sot on average, with 6.30 being the lower bound and 8 hours being the upper bound. Everything is stock. WiFi turns off when in standby (stock option in WiFi settings), so there is no drainage when in standby.
I use it half of the time for browsing and half of the time YouTube.

It almost certainly is, the battery is significantly smaller. The OG S was a beast.

My battery life is solid, it doesn't drain much at all when on and not in use or just browsing the internet. It lasts awhile while playing San Andreas. I always use the OEM charger and cable having had issues with other phones mixing chargers and cables. Also I think I read something saying the first few weeks of use to keep the battery as full as possible but not leaving it plugged in over night for exaple or off for an extened time.

Quick question: on my T710 on 5.0.1 I don't seem to be abke to see the specific battery usage, eg: how much battery used by wifi. Typically I would tap the battery graph to get these details, but doesn't seem to work on my S2?
I'm pretty impressed with the battery life of my 817T. I don't feel like I've had it long enough yet to say average SOT, but I only need to charge it every 2-3 days with some gaming, browsing, maybe a reboot or 2, and a fair amount of etc. It barely loses anything on standby, which is impressive. The only thing is it feels like it charges so slow but that's only because I'm used to using QC 2.0 on my Note 4! It's not a problem or anything; it would be nice if it had some LEDs for charging though.

Nope, Samsung dropped that feature from it TouchWiz Nature 5 skin.
I'm getting 9 hrs SOT really good for the battery size. stock tw using lux, package disabler, stock keyboard, Google launcher
Getting a fairly good number on mine, considering this was first cycle, and that I have no special optimizations for it like turning off WiFi when screen off, and I haven't messed around with the settings at all to improve battery.

Good for you. I'm using T815Y 9.7" and got around 8h onscreen. It's quite good

I got 8-10 hours SOT with gaming, browsing, emails ,....
and in sleep I get 0.15% per hour
I'm loving its battery life
my only problem is slow charging, it gets around 20% per hour with its own charger so it takes almost 5 hours to fully charge
I've noticed that CM12.1 gives allot better battery performance on my Tab then before. I'm still not sure if my tab came with a bad battery but on stock samsung I only got about 3h maybe 4h of screen usage. On CM i'm assuming (note, I haven't run a battery test yet) to get about 8-9h when I see how slow the percentage goes down.
Getting very good results almost 8 hours of SOT with heavy usage (browsing web, playing some hearthstone, temple run, subway surfers and watching youtube)
Very strange for battery of that capacity seems like system is really optimized
Which version is this?

I can't tell you right now how long my SOT is but the battery life of my T810 is really unexpected great.
I'm using it always with the Bluetooth keyboard from the official cover and the Samsung mouse. I'm typing a lot in university and using it at home for surfing, YouTube and Emails. I don't play any games on my tab and I have to charge it every 4 - 5 days. For its big screen I can't complain about the battery life!
Charing with the stock charger takes about 4 hours. When I plug my Tab S2 into my Anker Powerbank it just takes 2 - 3 hours.
I'm on the latest 5.0.2 firmware available in Germany.

After having all the iPad generations and trying about a dozen or more Android tablets... have to say the S2 is the first tablet i've had that has a iPad-like battery life.. Doesn't appear to drain while in standby (just like an iPad).. So it's a finally usable tablet in my eyes.. My problem was Android tablets just sitting in my bag would lose 20% a day.. Glad to see Android has figured out how to address the issue.

So, how has the battery life been since you've had the phone? I know it's still early, but is it comparable to the original Turbo?
Also, how's the performance of the snapdragon 820? It's been plagued with overheating issue since it's been out. Anyone notice this phone running hotter than previous phones? Also has anyone placed any heavy stress on the CPU, like some high graphics games?

I'm coming from droid maxx and battery life is comparable.
Processor is a snapdragon 810. I've not noticed any lag or throttling. Phone does get warm with extended use but no more than maxx so far.
Coming from an LG G3 the battery life is pretty good. I have noted the phone getting fairly warm under extended use, but it doesn't seem to mind. Time will tell. I've only had it for 18 hours. XD
Mine hasn't gotten hot at all when using not plugged in. It gets a lil warm when charging at low percentages. But nothing more than my GS6 does. Battery life is amazing... 3hrs18min SOT and 45% battery left
This was my first day battery use with everything turned on. WiFi, adaptive screen, high accuracy location. All the bells and whistles on. Heavy Heavy use. Love this phone. Tweaking the settings would get much more.
My mobile is very fast discharged what can I do for it.
It stays cooler than my maxx. Gsam battery monitor never went over 36 Celsius. I was on the phone for hours setting it up. Even turbo charging didn't heat it up. My maxx used to average 45-48 Celsius.
Sent from my XT1585 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
The only time mine gets warm is when I'm downloading alot of stuff. Other than that its cool. I'm getting 6+ hrs a day with extremely heavy use with everything turned on and screen 50%. No adaptive display.
Coming from the original Turbo. Battery life is very very comparable. Of course, I was using Greenify on the Turbo and could therefore squeeze more juice there. But based on just 1st day of HEAVY usage, Turbo2 is excellent.
The phone does get warm. It does NOT get hot.

OK for the first time my phone got fairly hot when plugged into the turbo charger. Hasn't always done that.
I have had not so good battery life with google play services always being at the top of the consumption list. I went as far as putting GPS in battery saving and also disabled every Google now and moto feature and also did a factory reset and also tried the gservicefix on the Google play store and somehow Google play services still drains my battery.
I gave it a full charge and used it a bit before bedtime. Left it with screen off at 96% and woke up 6 hours later with it at 84%. Mind you I have everything disabled such as photos backup and all. Only basic sync such as Gmail contacts and calendar, all others are off. I any ideas fellas?
Just checked mine its only at 2%

This is my same problem. My phone gets hot on the metal sides. Today I only got 1.5hrs sot and 6hrs total before it was dead. Tried factory reset yesterday after same problems.
We need root to get to the root of the problem and find out and disable w/e is draining our battery.
I'm wondering if some of these units have bad batteries cause mine is fine. I'm getting 6+ sot with heavy use. Keeping a close eye on it though cause I don't want to be stuck with a bad phone. So far I am happy with it.

I would take it back and exchange it. Cause that's not good at all. Maybe bad unit?
Now I'm scared that I may have a bad unit. How long do I have to return it? I got it on Thursday.
Right now I have 2 hours and thirty minutes of sot with google player vices draining almost 20% and playstore taking second place be sure I downloaded real racing 3 and Android os taking third. This sucks, I've mostly just sent text a few emails and 10 minutes on here reading this thread.

Not sure but I would think they would. I would snap a screen shot of your sot to show them. Don't see how they could argue about a horrible screen time like that. Battery has to be bad. Sorry that wasn't you that had the bad sot was it.

Let's hope Kirin 950 is efficient because with the right setup, Mate 7 does well and I see no reason why Mate 8 should be much different.

the biggest worry is as always the modem...they drain a lot battery.
not many people think about it since it is "hidden" statistics

People with extreme long battery stats are usually those who use wifi only..
normal usage include 4G. I use no wifi only 4G.
The best apps for battery life?
Running on lenovo,Huawei mate 8,Note5, S6
Epic battery for me yesterday, first full charge, performance mode on all day, 19 hours up time with 6hrs39mins screen-on and 11% remaining when I turned in for bed. Looks like 7 hours screen-on over a full day should be doable, in a straight line I would think 8hrs+.
Similar again yesterday, 18hrs on battery, 5hrs 20mins screen-on, 23% battery remaining.

Your battery life does not say us anything unless you are using wifi or 3g/4g ?
you would see that in the mate 7 thread people using only wifi would get very superior screen on time while we normal people using 4G
would get more realistic battery life around 4-5 hours.
I hope you do not use wifi since that consume a lot less power as you might understand, and the modem
is a "hidden" battery drainer which is not shown in battery statistics ( I wish it did )
Mostly on WiFi, but if I contrast with other devices we can still make a meaningful comment.
My Note 4, in the same use, would not reach 4 hours of screen-on time. Neither would the 6P that I had. The P8Max would hit around 5 hrs.
So far the battery life here is best I have experienced on Android.

IF you have been using mostly wifi I would be little bit worried about the battery life when using 4G for data.
Also the software is still in early phase ..so big improvements can be made still in most areas.. battery life and camera etc.
battery life also depends on your usage pattern concerning apps. independent from wifi vs 3g/4g ull get far less SOT if u use cpu/gpu intensive apps all the time. so a direct comparison with other devices from the same user with identical usage patterns makes sense

Mind posting more screen shot of battery life of your usage? I am very interested. Battery chart + sot. Thanks.
I'm sure with time and people getting their hands on the phone, battery life will only improve. I avg 1d 4-5 hours with 6-8hr sot on my note 3 with 4g but the phone has been out for a long time
The Note 3 had pretty good battery life, from memory when I moved to Note 4 there was a reasonable regression there.
After a couple of charges and latest firmware update my battery life has been stunning. Yesterday/day before yesterday I went 36hrs on a single charge and had 6.5hrs screen-on. That's totally unprecedented on Android for me. Today I am down to 60% and have had 4.5hrs screen-on. For me at least is a new high bar for Android battery life.

Yesterday's battery report - 18hrs on battery, 7hrs20mins SOT, 17% remaining (another hour and a half or so or SOT for general use I would think). Indoors, WiFi, low screen brightness etc, but nevertheless destroying every other Android I've ever owned. Spent 50mins playing some emulator games towards the end - Wipeout Pure (PPSSPP) and Fire Emblem Path of Radiance (Gamecube game in dev build of Dolphin). They got the phone warm and were, as you would expect, much heavier drains than browsing and so forth (probably more so than higher end native Android games as they stretch the CPU as well). For those interested Path of Radiance played seemingly perfect for the first level proper of gameplay, overclock set to 0.2.

No, sorry if that was unclear, that's a change in Dolphin itself. I'm a bit in shock at how well Fire Emblem is running on a phone.
Hi everyone,
I have got my Oneplus Two ever since last September. It is a great phone overall. However, one thing that's bugging me is the battery life. I admit I am a relatively heavy user, but I can only squeeze out about 3 hours of screen on time out of it.
I thought earlier, maybe it is the problem of Oxygen OS (it overheats like hell as well). Then I switched to CM13 roms. CM13 does not overheat at all and is smooth all the time. But the battery performance is still not ideal. I would say it's probably just 10% better than OOS..
Any ideas on this? I don't care about warranty and I am an engineer .. should I maybe try to replace the battery? I suspect the battery is dodgy after lots of overheating in the OOS..
Thanks for advice!! Cheers.
3 hours heavy use is pretty standard for the phone. The phone doesn't let the battery get to dangerous temps so I don't think that's the thing. Android has always had kinda poor battery life at least when it comes to standby times. I'm on Seraphs CM13 and it seems to have a decent power consumption, maybe give it a try?

Thanks! I will try it out!
As Kirahvi said 3hrs are, more or less, normal for OOS 2.2.1 stock.. Now I'm using stock rom with boeffla (which allow underclock), Amplify and greenify.. and my SoT is about 5.30hrs!
3 hours is also the max I've ever gotten, though its usually a little less than that for me. I am a heavy user of my smartphones while I'm commuting on the train, because I have music on + constant screen on while surfing the web/facebook/twitter. And while I'm at work I have bluetooth connection to my Huawei watch to receive notifications throughout the day. Nowhere near the folks who managed to squeeze 4hrs - 6hrs SOT daily but overall still reasonable.
Battery life for me is the same on OOS and CM13. Standby time on marshmallow is a little better with the introduction of Doze, though it only works if your device is left stationary for a period of time.
I'd also like to point out that battery life is the same for me with or without the Facebook/FB Messenger app. Thats why I left them installed.
I got 4 hours if I tweaked the heck out of thing, reduced brightness and just managed power ad much as possible, but more often then not I was at 3.5 or less. I am using the Hydrogen beta and I get 4.5 without any effort and have even hit 5. You might try that too, I have tried ALL the CM13 ROMs it feels like, in fact I keep a backup of Seraphs nightlys as I like it so much better than hydrogen, but by far hydrogen gets the best battery life...and its not close.

More than 4 hours is just because people read a lot on their phone, 6+ hours I think you can easily reach that lowering the brightness, under clocking, never turn off screen and just let phone idle don't even touch screen never

Guys, what lot of people not really undarstanding,SOT its not really show you how is the battery, lot of else is playing in the background which is affecting your battery.
for example:
-celluar coverage(if you got less the perfect conennection its gonna drain your bettery, and no its doesnt matter how big city you living, more people, more house ,less coverage
-wifi (same as above, how good and stable your connection,as less the drain)
-kind of apps(which is more frequently sync, and connecting with gps ,those use more battery)
-How long is the phone without the charger(yes if you pull off the charger and living on the table always screen on ,using a bit and after 4h you uploding the stat,is it the same?? NO!)
Im living in central London with bad coverage, bad wifi connection all around, and from 9am till 1am I got around 3h SOT,which I think not bad with these condition.
So guys dont compare each other SOT ,couse every connections and condition is different.
Definitely impressed so far. How about your experience?
I'd like to know wich rom offers better battery life, xiaomi.eu or official global.
I get 6-7h of SoT regularly. But then I use my phone heavily every single day, needing to recharge at 3pm, almost never allowing the phone to sleep/turn off the display.

GSam works on your phone? MIUI keeps killing off mine, so the results are horribly inaccurate. Tried high priority, tried removing power saving from MIUI app settings, tried putting notification. Kept killing off the notification.
You should go to Settings and then Permissions and then Autostart and select the apps you want to be able to run in the background and autostart.
Pretty decent battery with the alternative rom from cofface.

Around 4-5 hours SOT, 20% brightness mostly reddit, FB, manga, that's with wifi + dualsim btw.
can you tell me what is the pecertange of cell standby on your phone when you have 5-6 hours sot and what ROM do you use? thank you
Thunder ROM, no tweaks or settings changed, WiFi + dualsim, 4G if there's no WiFi
Between the huge battery and the very customizable "doze" alternative, this thing sips its juice like a little bird. Could go for a few days if need be. Stock everything.

I have just purchased a new LG g4 h815.
I am loving the speed, the looks and everything but I have an issue regarding battery life. I am getting a screen on time of around 2.5 hrs with moderate to heavy use, is it normal for LG g4 though to don't play any games or stuff . Previously I had used a Samsung Note 4 it had an amazing battery life, screen on time was around 3.5 to 4 hrs with moderate to heavy use.
Any suggestions to improve battery life I have turned off location services, auto sync and Bluetooth, screen brightness is @40 % but WIFI is turned on constantly
I have surfed a lots of sites and forums most of them are complaining about the battery life of this phone but still most of them are getting around 3 to 3.5 hrs of screen on time.

I have basically given up on this phone. Never get any updates (in Norway) and battery is very poor. The worst phone I ever had comparing battery. You should not have to turn off everything and tweak the phone and ask in forums to get good battery time. My father have a samsung brand and don't know **** about android or phones and have he's phone full of crap and never optimized it for anything and he STILL have great battery... Much better than mine. Weird right?
A thing I think, is that this phone struggle with WiFi. I have a lot of wifi disconnects and it gets very hot when it struggles with wifi. Sometimes when im at home I can have 60% left battery and not use it for a while and then suddenly have 40%...

Having just gone though the same hassles, I found the only way to get good battery life is to get the latest version of Lollipop (V10F-TWN-XX for me), root and install Greenify to hibernate hungry apps like facebook etc. I find my battery life is now better than my old G2. I get about 3+ hours SOT and lots of standby time. (Its 10:20 am right now, usage on battery is 3h 35 mins, estimated time remaining is 155 hours, 3 % use in last 3h, 28m screen on time) Previously my battery would have been on 50-60% by mid day, now its in the 90s.
I was almost ready to ditch the phone and find something else, which would have been a shame as I like this phone.
What I tried and found along the way:
- Use the battery charger that came with the phone, the charger that came with my phone had a different plug so I used another brand. This was charging my battery too fast and causing it not to hold as much charge.
- I tried almost every Marshmallow stock rom I could find. Nothing seemed to be that great with the battery.
- I disabled wifi when not in use, location bluetooth etc...went back to almost no apps just to see what was causing poor battery, but determined it wasn't anything other than the system.
Anyway, thats what worked for me. Hope that helps.
Great battery life on Genisys for BL developed by Ignacio R. No root, bloatware blocked, Hibernation Manager on board. It's not heavy used, most browser on wifi/lte, g+, youtube.

Man, i dont even know what are you talkin' about. I just showed that it can last long, not just the 3-4h SOT like a G2. Imperium Rom and Kernel, Greenify, 15% Brightness, Amplified all Facebook(not Messenger) and Google Wakelocks with 3600s. The phone is a 2 momths old H815.
