yes it does

Do you have evidence of that? It has to be certified by T-Mobile so this would surprise me
Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk

It supports band 12 and does support VoLte* however the firmware does not have it enabled yet. That update along with a few other features will be in the next release roughly around January.

T-Mobile is certifying it?

Were you able to successfully use MMS? I've been trying every setting I can find online without success
Also, visual voicemail doesn't seem to work on T-Mobile with the unlocked Lumia 950 XL.

well tmobile's answer when i inquired about using the phone before i bought it was "it will work and get full lte speeds." when i asked about wifi calling they said they have phones available that that feature will work on. so i understood that their voice over ip will not work

Anyone have feedback on this

I FINALLY got MMS working on my T-Mobile account. I set all the settings up the way that T-Mobile says to on their website but I could only get normal SMS not MMS or group texting to function. Because of all the reports of it working and I couldn't get mine to work I finally just did a master reset and THAT DID IT. I guess the problem all along was the restore I did. When I first got the phone and did the setup I did the restore from a previous install which was a Lumia 925 running Windows Phone 8.1 and I would suspect that it doesn't transfer properly because when I reset the phone and started from scratch all my MMS settings worked immediately as well as the LTE data.

I had the same problem as you with my MMS not working. I finally did a master reset back to factory and DO NOT restore from a previous build. Good luck.

MMS, no problem, VoLTE, Wifi Calling, another story...
I got MMS to work by simply adding the appropriate MMS APN, grabbed from the T-Mobile site.
IMS is another story though, they're not provisioning it for VoLTE and the rest, because they haven't done the testing yet. It would appear (hearsay from reading various forums) that this is a bit of showdown between MS and TMo, in terms of who's going to do the work.
In the meantime, all the standard stuff works, but it sure would be nice to have WiFi Calling, I spend a fair amount of my weekends in places with no coverage, but good WiFi.
Hopefully someone will decide it's best for the "customer" if these just work, since the firmware is already enabled, it's a bit annoying to be able to purchase the phone, with all the features advertised, but not being able to get a single carrier that supports them (at least in the US, I think there's 1-2 in EU).

VoLTE on Nexus 6 on AT&T....

Don't get your expectations high (if VOLTE availability is a concern anyways) but all internal paper for sales for the Google Nexus 6 (branded as Nexus 6 by Motorola) does not appears that a VoLTE capacity will be a sales point with AT&T for the Nexus 6.
To be fair with AT&T, Voice HD is not deployed on all markets and I guess AT&T does not wanna screw up on this but yet again, the device we all know is VoLTE capable but seems AT&T might not provision on rate plan speaking the feature.
Of course this is as of know I have seen all documentation.
Might update when the device gets circulated officially.
You may be able to add the ims settings for att. I have been meaning to try this on my maxx.
Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk
The APNs Settings sound plausible, I will preorder mine by midday.
I will try to confirm with the Store's representative if there any update.
***Update****
No one at Store knows if the device will physically have the HD Voice capacity turned on.
So, I hope that via settings or APNs do the trick.
Does anyone have the ims settings for att volte?
I too am interested in getting this working if possible. Does VoLTE work on ATT with the Nexus 6?
Right now HD voice is limited to a select few handsets in a select service area ATT did not go nationwide at once like Verizon. In order to be HD it also has to be a call to another compatible ATT phone also located in the select service area.

Have to talk to them on why. You might see nexgen in apn thats their volte apn but at&t never enabled it. I haven't seen anything att volte related on shamu, just Verizon. I recall when we (Bliss) added support. I couldn't live without it. Lol had it for 2+ years. So ask att why they won't enable the APN. Get on them.

I just had a live chat with someone from AT&T and he told me if HD Voice is in your area, it should automatically connect and you shouldn't have to enable anything. I'll have to try it out and see if he was right or not.
HD voice may be in "your area" and most likely is. You just can't access it. With a Nexus 6... Put your sim in another nexgen phone and BAM you've got volte. ie gs6, g4, etc, n6-nope.

They have it, probably large coverage. They just never activated it on N6. Be specific when you call. And ask why do you not enable volte APN on the N6.

It's enabled in alot of areas but not for the Nexus 6, put your sim in an iPhone 6 and you will see it works if its active in your area, they just never activated it on the back end for the nexus 6

Wanted to take a look but the URL is invalid
@EpicKip: The link was working yesterday, however I know why it was deleted: it involves using the IMEI of another device. The moderators likely believed this to be an end run around the site's rules regarding discussions about changing the IMEI, as in this case the IMEI change is done at the carrier rather than on the device.

It was left up to me whether I wanted to keep it going. I was allowed to leave it up but considering the conflict amongst mods I let it be. The method however is still working for me.
Ok so I came to the conclusion that doing this unless it is an AT&T branded Nexus 6 is not possible. However, for a brief period of about 2 minutes a few weeks ago I was able to get IPv6 working on LTE after yelling at AT&T support for an hour or so and giving them some AT&T IMEI I found from searching on eBay for a galaxy s8. It was giving me an IPv6 ping for a brief period (WiFi was disconnected and disabled on the N6 and I have IPv6 disabled on my router for the home network so I know it was from LTE).
It stopped working after that brief period when it probably recognized I was using a non at&t Nexus 6 and then I gave up.

They didnt bother me quite the opposite. They took in under consideration if it violated XDA terms. They actually ruled in my favor. I dont blame them for checking what I was doing thoroughly so it didnt violate XDA rules. However doing it this way should take the branding out of the equation. As my OP5t isnt branded.

@apophis9283 Do you or anyone else know of any ROMs for Nexus 6 that work with VoLTE (maybe for AT&T or have VoLTE at all in the ROM) specifically using the carrier side IMEI workaround? I'm running DU 7.1.2 right now and I cannot get VoLTE to work for the life of me. I see no option to disable the VoLTE icon in the statusbar icons settings either so this makes me think maybe this ROM has no VoLTE support.

Nexus 6p cannot receive calls if LTE is enabled

Hello everyone!
I hope you can help me because it is driving me nuts. I got a brand new nexus 6p and since day one i cannot receive calls while lte is on, i can make calls but it takes a while to connect. If i switch to 3g, the problem goes away, but i think it is also affecting battery life. I barely manage to get full day with medium usage. I tried custom roms like CM but still the same, yesterday installed android N, so will see if battery life improves, so far not bad... I tried changing apn but no luck either. Also tried flashing different radio, no luck.
Tried calling google but since the phone was not bought from google store they cannot replace it. I am pretty sure it was an update that f#$%&d it up, because i tested the phone before buying and it was receiving calls, but after update all changed.
I hope you guys know a solution to my problem.
Thanks!
If an update has caused your issue, do you know when your Nexus was updated? Was it updated by the seller before the deal was made or did you perform an update after you made the purchase? Who is your carrier? Not sure if it will help but if you are with Verizon, do you have VoLTE enabled on your account and have Enhanced 4gLTE enabled on your device? What version of Marshmallow were you using before switching to Android "N"? Also, are you rooted with a custom recovery or are you using stock Android MM? Have you performed a full wipe and fast boot flashed the latest factory Marshmallow image to see if that changes anything?

Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
The phone is european model and i am using it in Lithuania, carrier is Bite. Phone was on 6.0 when i got it and then it updated maybe 4 or 5 times. Only next day i noticed the battery drain and that i could not receive voice calls. Also if i dial *#*#4636#*#* only usa, japan, cellular 800 and pcs comes up, no euro band. I tried everything, stock, full wipe, custom roms, different radios, maybe i am flashing wrong stuff?
I have tried flashing android n and also tried ota, still cannot receive calls, well sometimes it works for few times and then i cannot receive calls again. I tried flashing a rom which brought back an option to select euro band but that did not help either. At least the battery seems to be better now, i got 4 hours screen on time and after 12 hours still had 20% left.
Which Nexus do you have? XT1100 or XT1103? Just out of curiosity, do you know what bands you are normally connected to? LTE Discovery from the Play Store is a great app to see your current band information. BITE - Lithuania uses bands 3, 7 and 20 for LTE. Band 1 is for UMTS. After doing some research I see that BITE does not have VoLTE on their networks. Another question, what do you have your "Preferred Network Type" set as? Global, LTE/CDMA etc..? We can figure this out. Just need to keep working through the process and eliminate what it cannot be that is causing the issue. I'll keep looking for you though and post back when I find something for you. If anything comes to mind or if something you do changes let me know.

Can you check your "About Phone" section and see if your IMEI and MEID are actually there and not all zeros or something funny? Next, in "Apps", disable Google Connectivity Services, uninstall all its updates and then let the Play Store update Google Connectivity Services. Let me know what that does.

Considering purchase of 6P directly from Google store...
This discussion is EXTREMELY interesting to me. A big thanx from me to everyone that has contributed to this thread.
I am a professional programmer and computer geek. I am currently suffering with a retail, locked down, bloated Samsung Galaxy S5, and was considering replacing it with the DEVELOPER version of the Nexus 6P, purchasing it directly from the Google Store. What I'm looking for is a developer phone that has trouble-free 4G/3G voice and data connectivity, at least 16 GB of RAM, at least 128 GB of internal storage, and a microSD slot would be nice to have.
Looks like I may have to consider other options, as it appears that the 6P is not all that it's hyped up to be.

Wifi Calling on At&t Google Pixel 2 XL

How did you get this to work? I've been trying to days to enable this option. I pushed "adb shell settings put global wfc_ims_enabled1" but to no avail has it worked.
I am on AT&T and have tried this with both a Google Pixel XL 2 from Google and Verizon. If you could give me any details of what your setup is like so I can try to enable this I'd dearly appreciate it!

+1 how? Very curious.
a screenshot showing the actual call going over wifi is needed.
unless ATT changed their mind in the last week, WiFi calling isnt available for the Pixel 2/XL, even if the option is enabled, the account has to be provisioned, and the phone needs the proper IMS profile, ATT to this date has refused to allow it.
This is the first I've seen the option even appear. Will test some calls and report back.

Looks like it isn't up and rolling yet, but the fact that the option appears has me hopeful. At&t still doesn't say that it supports VoLTE on P2XL, but we have that working, so perhaps Wi-Fi calling is coming soon.

Here's hoping. My apartment is on the bottom floor so reception is very spotty. What has been weird though is that if I start a call when I have reception and move to a spot in my apartment where there is no cell service, the call persists. So part of me thinks me enabling Wifi Calling from ADB may have done something?

At&t criteria? What's the criteria? I've Google searched and only found information saying you can't have it unless you have an att branded phone.

Because idiots around the US have no idea what they're talking about then they say "VoLTE on AT&T only works with AT&T-branded Android phones or iPhones". As long as a manufacturer certifies their device with AT&T, and configure their devices with the proper IMS profile for AT&T's network, VoLTE will work. Google (HTC/LG) certified the Pixel 2 / 2 XL with AT&T for VoLTE and RCS, both of which work if all criteria are met (proper SIM card, IMEI updated in billing system, options turned on), and right now, 8.1 DP1/DP2 are needed to use VoLTE on AT&T's network, as the modem/IMS configuration was updated on the phone to support it.

Sorry, I'm not sure I'm reading this correctly. Please clarify... Are you saying that VoLTE is working on the Pixel 2 on att? If yes, please please please tell me how.

VoLTE is enabled in Android 8.1 for AT&T. I just flashed the final factory image and it does indeed work. You do have to verify that your sim card is properly provisioned for VoLTE. As for the WiFi calling portion of this conversation, I still cannot access the "Wi-Fi calling" setting within "Mobile network settings."
I am on 8.1 on AT&T but the unlock version of the phone... I don't ave the VoLTE

Check to make sure your sim card supports it. If it does you'll wanna call att and have a technician make sure your account is provisioned properly. Also you'll need to make sure they have the IMEI of your phone.

I just bought a Verizon Pixel 2 XL and Volte doesn't work. I'm on 8.1.0 February security patch. I thought that the Verizon Pixel was exactly the same as the Google Store version, other than the locked bootloader. Does anyone know how to get this working? I've already called At&t twice, and they say it should be working.

Is advanced calling enabled in settings/Network &internet/Mobil network/advanced. ??
If yes, then look at the link 2 posts above yours.

UGH Again..No incoming text with OP8Pro on Verizon

I ordered ASAP via pre order and wanted to get the PHONE ASAP. Just got off the phone with Verizon Tier 1 and 2. Yes I know about the CDMA Less feature being added but since they did away with 3g thats no longer an option. My IMEI or this OP8 pro isn't on their approved list yet and it wont let them do anything else. I also tried to do this on my own verizon account and as soon as I put the IMEI# in it shows as not an eligible device. I am going to try and be patient as the phone so far ( NOT testing the camera yet) is buttery smooth. Anything else anybody can comment?

Does wifi calling work on Verizon for the OnePlus model that's the only way I'm buying an unlocked model?

Did you see my 2nd post ? I tweeted one plus and Verizon contacted me and I was working with them on Twitter DM and the tech did this : refreshed the SMS over lte features and also mms over lte features they said.
yes i did exactly what dailycruz suggested. they refreshed my sms over LTE a bunch of times. I spent many hours today on the phone with Verizon last person I spoke to was from engineering and he told me that he could not enable cdma-less on my phone since it would not allow them to add a oneplus 8 Pro iemei into the system to activate. his suggestion was to activate a OnePlus 7 Pro (which i don't have) which is approved allowing them to enable CDMA-less option. then switch to OnePlus 8pro. I am super angry at this point.

Could someone try a call using Google Voice and see if WiFi calling works with that, please?
Google voice works to make wifi calls through the app but there's no wifi calling options in the OnePlus phone app that i can see.
Daillcyruz, what phone did you switch from? was Cdma-less enabled on your original phone?

Yes, it is. I used it exclusively so when I buy unlocked non-vzw phones I'll be able to still make WiFi calls. Even ported my number over to it.

Do you know by chance if Verizon enabled CDMA-Less on your OnePlus 8 Pro ?
Wow, this is a deal breaker for me. My work phone they can't enable CDMA-LESS on that line, they claim it's something about the type of business contract. So I'm having to carry my OP7P for my own, and another P3XL for work. When I saw that the OP8P supports Verizon's CDMA bands, I was like FINALLY I can carry one phone!!! (Once they activate the dual sim in the USA).
Do we know why this is NOT the case when we are being told otherwise? Anyone have any thoughts?
Surprisingly my OP8P worked just from sim swap. I am on a Verizon business account, account auto added

So I have an update finally. My buddy in Orlando sent me his OnePlus 7 Pro to When I put my Verizon sim card in, i had same exact issue as my new OnePlus 8Pro, no SMS messages. I called back the engineer at Verizon who suggested I try this to begin with, and he was able to enable CDMA-Less feature this time with the OnePlus 7 Pro and my sim, since its MEID showed up in Verizon's system properly. As soon as he enabled CDMA-Less i was able to receive SMS messages on the OnePlus 7 PRO. I then immediately pulled the sim from 7 Pro and put it back into my One Plus 8 PRO and surprise surprise SMS/MMS messages started coming down!! I have no clue why they cant enable it on the new OnePlus 8 PRO and my phone still does not show up properly on My Verizon Device page ( the One Plus 7 Pro showed up perfectly).
This is a crazy work around and neither OnePlus nor Verizon was really much help on getting this to work. Maybe a new Sim would of done the trick but without being able to go to a Verizon store at the moment, it was just another shot in the dark.
