HELP. I9505 IMEI= null/null, baseband = unknown after attempt to update baseband - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was trying to update my baseband today and ran into some troubles. After flashing a stock ROM with the correct modem (or, at least I believe it was the correct one), my sim isn't detected, baseband shows up as "unknown", wifi doesn't work and the IMEI is listed as "null/null". I have no idea how this happened, but I'm scared I may have somehow bricked my phone (which I desperately need tomorrow - oops).
Is there any known fix for this?
It's an I9505, I use the German carrier 1&1 and was flashing the XXHOJ2 baseband. I also did not make an EFS backup (oops #2).
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
EDIT: I just flashed an old nightly of CM12 and now suddenly everything works again. No idea how that happened, but yeah... the problem is fixed. If any mods out there could delete this thread, that would be nice.

Really need help with S4 i9500

Hi everyone,
My S4 has lost its IMEI, and here is my situation.
I was using Prism v14 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2537515), and it was totally fine. Last night, I tried to flash a new S6 port rom, this http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4/i9500-develop/rom-aurora-s6-port-t3063408, and my fone lost its signal. The signal icon is still full, but it was only available at emergency calls. When i check, IMEI and Serial number were still there. I tried flashing the Prism v14 again, didnt fix it.
Then I took my fone to the care center and left it there for a few hours. When i come back, they told me that, they flashed it back to stock, and when i ceck, the IMEI was gone. They explained that, when I flashed the S6 port rom, the real IMEI was gone, it was only the fake IMEI from the rom that I saw (didnt know if this was true).
So now im asking for any possible help/solution. I was bad to forget backing up my EFS. So i wonder if I can use someone else's EFS to restore? If yes, it would be great if any one can share with me the EFS backup.
Thank you for reading and please excuse my bad English.
The EFS folder doesn't store the IMEI, despite having an IMEI folder, thus it won't help you. nv_data.bin also will not be found there, if my S4 is any indicator, but will be found in the hidden partitions.
You'll need to try flashing the baseband for your device again, and to do that you're going to have to download a copy of the ROM, which should be found on the forums here. Sometimes the baseband needs to be flashed twice for everything to properly work. I can only speculate why that is, but I believe it to be due to having two hidden partitions for the baseband. When the baseband is copied into the first partition it isn't copied into the second, resulting in a mismatch. Flashing the baseband a second time writes the baseband to the second partition, and everything functions correctly.
If flashing the modem again does not work, getting your IMEI back will require using methods that cannot be discussed here on XDA.

No network/No service/No signal... GT-I9500

Hello guys
my problem started when I tried to upgrade from 4.4.2 (KitKat) to 5.0.1 (lollipop), I tried first to upgrade using Kies but I just didn't work it recognized my phone and downloaded the firmware but couldn't install, so I went to the other option "odin" I flashed the firmware for my region for my phone yet when it turned on I had a very week signal.
when I tried going back to kitkat I had no service at all and lost my IMEI and baseband, then I tried different regions of lollipop and kitkat, but still nothing, and I thought I lost my IMEI and that I need to write it manually using this box (I don't remember its name) until yesterday when I flashed a Turkish kitkat which restored my IMEI and baseband but still no service, then I backed up my efs folder and went on trying every modem in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2192025
I tried everyone of them some gave me "no service" others "emergency calls only" and a third group didn't even recognize the sim card however all of them changed my IMEI to either NULL or the fake IMEI.
now I tried to restore my esf folder but it didn't work, so I thought to re-flash the Turkish firmware (which retrieved my IMEI and serial) but also didn't work and now I still have a fake IMEI which is weird because it worked before.
I tried every method every solution and nothing worked
I even contacted Samsung who told me that it cannot be fixed in Europe cause it is an international model and has to be fixed from where it was bought (Jordan)
and now um feeling really hopeless
please help

Out of Service Network most of the time after flashing custom ROM

I hope I am posting in the right section.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 (I9505) and it was crashing on the stock ROM so I flashed the Imperium LL Rom v11.0. The problem I am having is my phone reporting no network signal or "Out of service". But not always. After a reboot I usually have network signal. After locking and unlocking the phone I never have. The signal usually comes within a few minutes. When my phone is reporting "Out of service" I cannot make calls but I can still receive calls. And after the received call has terminated I can still not make calls. After a few minutes the network signal icon comes and I can make calls. Until I lock my phone because it gets lost everytime.
Some info:
1. I was on a rooted Stock 4.2.2 before I flashed the Imperium LL Rom.
2. The IMEI seems to have changed. I never took note of it before flashing, so it might have always been different but the IMEI reported by the phone is different from the IMEI on the sticker underneath the phone battery. I tried the Xposed IMEI changer but the problem still happens so this may be unrelated.
3. While searching I found it could be an invalid Modem driver. In the settings the Baseband version is I9505XXUBMEA so I tried flashing the driver for that version using ODIN. No change.
4. I tried via Recovery to flash Slim80 Kernel Cleaning Script v1.9 and then the Imperium Kernel v3.3 but no change.
I did a factory wipe before flashing the firmware.
Any help or suggestions please?
Thanks!
I have actually solved this. What I had tried before was flashing the modem with the same Baseband I had previously ie: I9505XXUBMEA thinking that there were specific versions which needed specific drivers. Upon reading more I found out that newer versions of the modem should be installed and that XX was a carrier code and the last 2 letters are how recent the driver is. So I tried the latest modem (XXUHOE2) I could find similar to the Imperium Build which is XXUHOJ2 and it seems to be working. My phone retains the network signal when put to sleep.
The fact the IMEI changed is weird and I don't know if it makes a difference. Maybe it was always like this..but it is strange that it is different to the one on the sticker. The format is correct because only the last 4 digits differ.
Anyway I hope this info helps someone with similar problems.
How can I mark the title for this as [Solved]? I can't find any way.

GT-I9500 - Corrupt EFS Folder, wrong number
Hi guys,
I have the GT-I9500 (South Africa) with the following:
PDA: I9500XXUAMDK
Phone: I9500XXUAMDK
CSC: I9500OJVAMDK
My problem started after I mistakenly flashed a custom rom (using Odin) which was not intended for the model GT-I9500, but rather for model GT-I9505, after that I realized that my IMEI number had changed from the correct one to (004999010640000). Since then, I have tried a whole lot of different approaches to try and get this resolved (Flashed official ROM, tried QPST, e.t.c...) I am still sitting with this problem, and in the process of me trying to resolve this, i fear I may have corrupted my EFS folder and well.
Can anyone please help me try and resolve this problem and restore my correct IMEI number to my phone.

I wiped my efs by accident, if you have a backup of your efs or a nandroid backup (can extract efs from nandroid backup) restore it. I didnt so i swapped my motherboard out, lucky i had a spare s4 with a broke screen to get one out of. Good luck

I never heard of anyone who lost their IMEI after they flashed a custom rom. Not even if they flashed a custom rom for another device.
You flashed a 4.2.2. firmware. That's probably the reason of the incorrect EFS. Flash latest Lollipop stock rom.
If you still don't have your normal IMEI back then it is caused by the things you did trying to "fix" it certainly not by the wrong custom rom.

It happend with me. i try changing imri with z3x samsung tool but didnt work for me...nd I dnt have efs backup..I also flash many firmware of kitkat, lollipop, jealybean, and also modems but its wont help me....
Try this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4/help/imei-null-fixed-t3008035?nocache=1
I try so many solutions but failed, i thought i had to spent a lot òf money for restoring lost imei. After reading that thread and follow the instrucstion, everything is working fine and i did not spend any money at all.
My experience: Firstly, downgrade your i9500 to andoid 4.4 (should be 4.4 Samsung Stock Rom) and then flash the attached file via odin. Done!

Flashing a custom rom does nothing with your efs. It can't even touch it because the efs is in a different partition. If you can't even fix it with a z3x box, then it's probably hardware damage unrelated to the flashing.
