In H2 my FS works really well but total other story in OOs, it reads to set a finger but then in the lockscreen nothing happend. Any clue?.
Maybe other customers are not setting up the fingerprint correctly. Each time you lift your finger and place it down, should be a bit of an alternative positioning. Like: Maybe they hover their finger not enough and setting up the exact position for the whole process. I have no problem with my fingerprint and besides my signature states: I'm currently on OOS 2.1.2.

Is anyone else having problems with the fingerprint scanner? I'm trying to set it up to accept my print but it won't scan it.

No problems at all. Set up quickly and easy.
swipe slowly. good swipes take at least a full second it seems. mine set up just fine and works for unlocking the phone.
Mine was shockingly easy to set up.

Thanks! That's all it took...
You don't really need to exagerate the swipe, but the 1 second rule is not a bad one to follow.
Make sure that the way you swipe to enroll is roughly the same as the way you swipe to authenticate. Holding the phone in the same way helps a lot.
Swipe from the base of your finger pad, to the tip of your finger.
Always use a pulling motion. Do not push your finger across the sensor.
You can actually unlock the device whether you pull toward the bottom of the phone from the top, or flip the phone around and pull the other way during the swipe. This can be very useful when the phone is in a dock.
If your finger crosses the sensor at a strong angle, you may not be able to authenticate or enroll. Remember that the finger should be aligned as indicated in the animation.
Enjoy! And remember, this is serious security. It's way beyond the pattern lock or a pin. And yet, it's easier to use than either. How often can you add security and make something easier to use at the same time?

No problem here, way better than the sensor on the Note5. Have you used one before? I wonder if your fingers just don't work well with them.

Go to setting, security, imprint and setup another finger, you can use the same finger if you like. Make sure if you are using a case on the phone that you setup the imprint with the case on. If you setup the imprint with no case, then put a case on your phone, your phone will read your finger differently, therefore it may not work correctly. You scanner should read your finger 9/10 times if not more
if it works that bad, delete all prints and RE DO
mine has yet to fail
i have set up my finger again, the problem im having is that i can access my phone by the power button thus by passing the finger scanner most times. Surely i should only be able to access my phone when my finger print is confirmed.?
You should just be able to use the finger print scanner and not touch the on button at all. About 99% accurate for me.
When you set it up, did you keep moving your finger on the sensor between presses (not during) to make sure it had a good cross section of the finger to recognse?
All is working fine now after the recent security update from google
I've flashed resurrection remix 5.7.0 (Android M) on my sm-n910f, Everything works great except for one thing and the occasional crash. And that one thing is the fingerprint scanner, It only saves my left index finger. It works completely normal when saving the fingers but it only saves 1 finger even if I scan multiple fingers (not in the same finger of course) same finger everytime.
As I'm right handed unlocking my phone with my left index finger isn't all that useful so any of you guys got any help?
It worked fine in the stock ROM.
So I bought my wife today a Moto G5 Plus 32GB (I've had a 64GB version for a few months) but am having issues with fingerprint unlock. When we were setting it up today we noticed that on mine, finger print scanning will skip the swipe up to unlock screen when I put my finger on it but hers won't. You can tape your finger a second time on hers and it will fully unlock, but not with the first press of a finger like mine. We can not for the life of us figure out why mine is different as we are running the same exact settings in security and both are running nova launcher. Does anyone have an idea on how to enable a one press of the finger scanner to unlock and skip the lock screen?
