Don't know if you guys have seen this yet, but Xposed for Marshmallow is here!!!!!!!! Checkout the Xposed subforum for downloads, general discussion, etc. So far these modules are working on my Nexus 6 running stock rooted MRA58R:
Force Immersive Mode
Amplify
Greenify Experimental Features
YouTube AdAway
Xposed GEL Settings
Snapchat Full Caption
Not working (causes bootloop):
Snapperfs
NOTE: You MUST use Xposed Installer v3 alpha 4 provided by Rovo89! The material design Xposed Installer does not work. I got the following error and could not activate any modules: "This module is forward locked. Contact the developer." After uninstalling the material design version and replacing it with v3 alpha 4 I was able to activate and use my favorite modules without issues.
UPDATE: material design Xposed Installer now works with v78!
How did you install it on a Nexus 6? Every time I try to flash from TWRP I get an error.
It was a bad download!

Also, I am positive your phone doesn't just say "An Error", read the error, it tells you what went wrong. If you don't understand it, ask us... but we need to know what it says.
Make sure its version 77, and the -arm file
-armx86 is for 64 bit chips running in x86 mode iirc, and obviously -arm64 is for 64 bit chips. Nexus just uses the standard -arm

What does the error say? Which version are you installing? Try a fresh download of v77-arm (NOT arm64). Your download might be corrupted.
I installed v77 and v3 alpha 4. It says that Xposed is active but when I go to modules it says "No modules available." I even changed to "Experimental" in settings. No luck!

No, I can download them manually. Just curious if anyone else is having the issue of them not showing up in the native app.

Mine did that too. Said no free space. I checked system and there's 16megs free on mine. Dunno for now ...might have to play with this some more tomorrow.
Edit...that was the problem. I used es file explorer to browse to system/app and delete the Korean ime and Hindi ime apps and that alone freed enough space for a successful flash.

Make sure you have a good download. Also that you took the maximum size for the system partition when created. Try wiping data on rom slot before as well.

So far still nothing. I have downloaded and redownloaded the amazon OS. I am unable to alter the system partition but I have maximized the data partition, I tried wiping the data before the install but I got the same error message.
Has anyone else gotten this method to work on the HDX 8.9?

That stock os is for the hdx 7 so that's your problem. I'll make that more clear. Use a backup of your own stock software and that should work.

PERFECT! that did it.
Ok. Follow up question. Is there a way to make the ROMS larger? I could only increase the ROM slot to 4gb. Now that I'm finally able to access Google play and Amazon, I've run out of space quick.
Withdrawn
Ok. Got it.
Let me preface this by saying, sorry for the noobiness.
Does this make sense....The reason I used safestrap and the Rom 1 slot was to protect my stock slot (making changes on a copy of my back up of my Rom using the Rom 1 slot). Hence the smaller space with the Rom 1. I guess if I really I wanted more room like you said, I could install everything on the stock Rom. However, with this scenario, I'm assuming I would lose the only back up capacity available in case I brick the device. Is there another way to back up the device using storage from somewhere else (like save the stock Rom to my pcand load it if needed).
Again, thanks.

Works like a charm, many thanks for this!

Thank you so much for this! The instructions on the actual gapps thread were really spartan, and not helpful at all for those of us who are new to safestrap.

Got it I forgot to install the framework first lol!
I have been using this Rom on a daily basis since the tutorial was posted -- and have added a number of apps and customized to my personal preferences. I've had no issues at all -- with either Amazon or Google apps & services! THANKS once again to all who've contributed!
PS: for convenient switching between launchers, this works well for me: installed Apex launcher with its tablet UI - and set it as default launcher. I have the Kindle "Home" icon (shortcut to stock launcher) on my homescreen - hitting that goes instantly to the stock Kindle homescreen - and hitting the device's home button will get me back to Apex/android.
Optimum error
This seems to break Optimum application for anyone on Cablevision Cable network.
I get "Error" "There appears to be a problem with the Optimum app. Press OK to close the App then try again. OK".

Your issue maybe that you don't have gapps installed and it's missing the installer files to install the apk

Does 'adb install' from a PC work?
Many of the gapps APKs are required to be in /system so they can't be installed via 'adb install' or any other method. Maybe the APK you're trying to install has a dependency on gapps.
Google apps, as well as apps that rely on the APIs they expose (mapping is common) are a tightly intertwined mess. You'll get seemingly silent install errors because you're missing libraries, for example. Trying to restore apps through Titanium Backup will similarly fail if they are missing required libraries.
They generally will show up though logcat if you look carefully. Resolving the issue requires the sufficiently complete and self-consistent (sub-) set of Gapps.

Yeah. What a lot of people don't realize is how many apps that are out there which aren't part of gapps, but require the presence of the core gapps components.

Hi all,
I have been looking everywhere for a solution but have found none that solved my issue.
I had xposed framework installed and working fine on my S4 i9505 with 4.3 and just after I updated to 4.4 I just can't install it (new install) nor re-install it with Titanium Backup.
I have the latest version, and it tries to install but finishes installation saying "application not installed" and that's all.
Can anyone give me a hand?
I have stock ROM, rooted with supersu, CWM.
thanks!
You dont need use Titanium Backup for that:
1. Download the Xposed Installer APK and install it normally like an app
2. Launch the Xposed Installer, go to the "Framework" section and click on "Install/Update"
3. Reboot
4. Done!
It seems I'm not explaining myself correctly...
I know how to install Xposed.
I have had it ever since I got the phone 8 months ago. I have changed roms frequently and never had any trouble installing it again.
But since I updated to kitkat 4.4.2 there is no way I can install it again from fresh. That's when I tried with Titanium just in case it worked, but it didn't.
So there must be something wrong with my cel after the update to kitkat 4.4.2.
does anyone know what could be the matter and how to solve it (apart from obviously flashing another ROM)?
thank you

@a.cid we need a blog post.
It's mainly the work of hashcode. I mainly fixed a couple of things and picked some commits to add compatibility with otterx (I've pushed these commits to CM gerrit and they were merged a while ago, so no more commits need to be picked when building otterx).

To possibly fix the com.android.phone fc messages, try to freeze or uninstall the phone package as this device isn't a phone so it likely won't make a difference (although I could be mistaken). To speed it up, download kernel adiutor and then put low memory killer on "Very Aggressive". Next enable developer options in settings by tapping on the build number a bunch (if you are able to flash a ROM I assume you know the process). Go to developer options and turn animations down to 0 for everything. Next, try to stop any apps running in the background on boot etc...

Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
So excited to see 7.1 on here. I had issues with installing as well (TWRP 3.0.0), so I changed the install script directories to match those in CM13 and it seemed to install fine.
The problem I'm running into is low memory. Once it boots I have about 3MB free, which leads to crashes to the desktop and soon a reboot. Is the RAM supposed to be compressed or is there still more optimization that needs to be done?
Keyboard issues
My keyboard won't show up on any of the builds. Any suggestions?
Hi there!
It's been a while since i was using this tablet but here we are. I want to use it without PlayStore, just for reading so i want it to ask if this CM14 Build is working well or recommend me a solid Otterx ROM.
I don't know if this is legit... https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=312968873555011561
But according to that link, there is a CM14.1 build from 11/05. is it safe to flash ? What Gapps ?
Thanks in advance.

yes the build is fine. If you don't need PlayStore than you don't need any gapps...
see the posts above about removing the CM setup program while in recovery before launching the rom on first boot.
Hey,
did somebody try to install Xposed Framework on the book?
Its normal Android 6.0.1, so it should be work. It must be the x86 version right?
I personally have not tried doing this, but I've had a quick look around, and it seems entirely possible. It doesn't seem like Xposed depends on the actual hardware, but more on the software side - and since Lenovo's ROM is fairly close to stock Android M, I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work.
I don't have the Android version of the Yoga Book, so I can't test this for you, but so long as you make a backup, all the hard work has already been done for you if this is something you want.

I tried it today but its not working. With the x86 file I got the message, that I need a correct x64 file. And with the arm64 file I got the error 255.
Any idea?

Hmm... Technically the Yoga Book is using the x86_64. However, the error your getting refers to something missing. So perhaps it's as simple as when you downloaded the file, something got left behind. Double check the checksum, or if you don't know how just re-download the file (the arm64 one)... If that doesn't work then maybe it does in fact need its own x86_64 build.
I'll have a look, but try once more.

I downloaded the arm64 file again, but got the same error "error: 255".

I've had a quick look around and I've found that you do need to have a specially built version for x86_64, so you're not doing anything wrong. It doesn't look like many people have done it, but it has been achieved before. So if you have the time it may be something to do (or look further into the forums for a version of Xposed).
Hope I've helped at all, I'll try dig a little deeper later on.

I'm still having a look around, but before I shove more test builds down your throat for you to see if they work I need to ask; do you know how to fix a boot-loop? Because that may happen and I can't be liable for your device.
But if you're cool with that, I'll give you more things to test out ;D
On my Note 10.1 and Oneplus 3 I had some Bootloops during installing ROMs. The different was that TWRP was installed directly on the device. So I did a full wipe with it and bootloop are gone.
Is it the same here? Only that I habe to load TWRP manually with ADB? If so, then we can try.

Yeah, I mean you can install TWRP on your device, it's just not recommended at the moment as it can be unstable. But yeah, it's basically the same here.
Have you got your device Rooted? Because I'd like to test out Magisk's Xposed version on x86_64. It doesn't say that it supports it or not... and I'm not sure if it's just implied from the original compatibility. But I guess now is a good time to find out, and I'll be able to update my Megathread with the information.
To install it (assuming you're Rooted via Magisk - if not, my Megathread has the information) just download the Magisk Manager app from the Play Store, go to the "Downloads" section, and download the latest SDK version (I think it's 24 or 23...) and install that (if the option is there). Once that's done downloading, just go to this page and download the Material Design Xposed Installer, and follow the instructions there.
Hopefully that should work... but if not, that just means we're going to have to do more experimenting!

No success. If I try to install the Framework with Material Design Xposed I get the error message "Error 1 occured" either with x86 and arm64 file.

You need to download the Xposed SDK via the Magisk Manager with Magisk installed. There is no x86 or arm64 version of either. Also make sure you don't have the original Xposed Installer on your device, these two installers are incompatible.
Follow these steps:
1. Uninstall any version of Xposed you have of the original/official version
2. Install Magisk (check my Megathread for more information on that)
3. Download and install the Magisk Manager from the Play Store
4. Download the Xposed SDK (latest version) from inside the Magisk Manager
5. Download and install the unofficial Material Design Xposed Installer from the link before
6. Install Xposed from the Magisk Manager

Now, I get the error "error during Installation". Magisk is up to date with version 14.2 There is no log file to check.

Hmph. Well that is disappointing. I'm not sure if you've looked into the actual files of Xposed, but the other day I found that someone made a "patch" for one of the files. If you want to have a look inside the files you download and see if you can find this one, then that may be another experiment we could try.
The file is gistfile1.txt, there's also this extra information "gist:86ac06a6be14a6d9331b" - I don't know if that's anything useful.
My bad, gist is something to do with GitHub. But the contents of the file is still useful, but I don't know which file would need the patching.
The patched file is here, so I'd assume all you have to do is locate that file and replace the contents of it with this patched version, and then try to install Xposed (either via the Magisk method or the official method, up to you).
Hopefully I can either find more information about this patch or find something else you can try. Good luck!

I am having the same problems getting Xposed on this tablet. I tried the methods in this post but still can not get it. I cant find the file the you are referring to change. Anything else to try or maybe there is another way to accomplish what I am trying to do. I am trying to use "Hide Mock Location" to use "Fake GPS" so I can watch baseball on the "MLB at Bat" app. The app blacks out the game if you are in the viewing area. Last year I just used Private Internet VPN and Fake GPS and it worked this year that doesn't. I found this post https://www.comparitech.com/blog/vpn-privacy/mlb-tv-workaround-with-dns-vpn/ when searching that is what I am trying to get Xposed installed. Any ideas would be welcome

Hmm well to my knowledge no one got Xposed to work on the Yoga... but if you managed to follow my tutorial to install Magisk (I don't think SuperSU works) there are a few apps in the Play Store that allow you to set up a "mock location", but they require Root access.
