the reason why i want to root my device is because i want to install TWRP and flash custom rom and kernels. well i found a way to install TWRP without ROOT. in case you only want too root your device try flashing custom Kernel which is ROOT ready eg Talexop (my personal favorite) or follow THIS STEPS after flashing TWRP
To install TWRP (no ROOT required)
>Open ODIN
>Press AP and choose THIS .IMG
>Put your Phone on Donwload Mode ( POWER - HOME - VOL DOWN)
>START
Now you can access TWRP (POWER - HOME - VOL UP) and Flash Custom ROMs and KERNELs:good:

Please i need help my friend's S5 SM-G900F is stuck at recovery booting and can't go to recovery mode or normal boot he said he flashed cf-autoroot and the problem started i had flashed so many firmwares and it still had this problem any ideas :crying:
I'm going to assume the worst case scenario.....
Your multiple firmware flash attempts may have caused some OS corruption which means that even if the phone was to miraculously boot normally, you'd find that the whole system is unstable.....
This leaves realistically one option.....
Start again from a *totally* fresh install.
To do this, it is likely that you'll need to flash the pit file for the device variant along with the firmware.......
This will totally erase and re-format the device memory partitions during the flash which will get rid of any old software (and subsequent modifications) allowing the device to function normally.

I have try this too but it doesn't make any effect
You could try going custom.......
(Follow this process EXACTLY)
1) copy SuperSU zip and your choice of custom rom to a microSD card and put it in the phone.
2) boot into download mode.
3) Odin flash TWRP 2.8.7.0 (specifically this version).
4) DO NOT allow phone to boot....uncheck Auto Reboot (remove the battery as soon as the TWRP flash has completed if necessary) then.....
5) boot directly into recovery. (Vol +, Power & Home button combination)
6) flash SuperSU zip.
7) flash custom rom and GApps
8) boot device as normal.
Note....If the phone *does* manage to reboot at #4, you'll have to re-flash TWRP and intervene to prevent re-boot.....

Sorry then fella.....don't know what else you can try.....
If..
Flashing stock
Flashing stock and pit
Flashing custom recovery/rom
.....hasn't worked, there's not really a lot more you can do. You are just going to have to persevere with one or all of the above procedures until one of them finally gives you success......either that, or take the device to a service centre and get them to sort it for you......

Need a bit more info than just 'not worked'
What didn't work? What did ODIN say? What was the error?
What did the phone do after the flash?
List the exact steps you took and the results of each step, or we can't help you at all, we are not in your house watching you, we only know what you tell us, so 'not worked' is no help at all

And then replace the battery

Can someone please create a thourough start to finish guide on converting, rooting, recovery, and rom installations?

For BL unlocking follow this
For rooting
If staying on stock:
Boot into download mode (VOL-DOWN + HOME + POWER) and flash twrp-3.0.2-0-trltevzw via ODIN (MAKE SURE YOU UNCHECK AUTO-REBOOT!!!).
Battery pull phone and then boot straight into recovery (VOL-UP + HOME + POWER) to finish the recovery install process or else it will install the default android recovery.
Then flash the Emotion-TW-5.1.1-nightly-r21-RC1-SM-N910P kernal via recovery.
Then flash the BETA-SuperSU-v2.71-20160331103524 via recovery.
Reboot.
If going to a different rom, you should just be able to flash the rom via recovery and get right in. But results may very, check the forums.

Can someone please tell me where I have gone wrong.
I have gotten temproot via kingroot installed and was able to get the unlocker to run and I can see that the device is now a developer device. I am trying to get root to work but not having any luck.
I follwed the instructions at http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4-verizon/general/guide-noobs-guide-to-perm-root-twrp-t3360883 and had problems in step 8 when trying to run super-sume. I ran it successfully for stage 1 but then it hung when trying to run stage 2. However, I was able to move on to step 9 and install TWRP and the emotion kernel. I have done a full reset and tried a 2nd time but still no luck in getting permament root access.
Root checker shows no root access and superSU is installed but shows no su binary installed.
If I run SuperSUME-Pro then it shows the device is wrte=protected
It seems I can run kingroot again to gain temp root access but not perm root access.
Any ideas on how to proceed from here?

Install SuperSU from TWRP. Does that work?
If you Developer mode and twrp but no root, then what you need to do is install emotional kernel from twrp and reboot device then boot back into twrp and install SuperSU zip and reboot device you should be fine.
After re-checking my recovery I do not believe that I have TWRP installed after all. I was booting into android recovery and it hit me I was not seeing what I expected to see. I need to work on getting TWRP installed. I do indeed have the custom kernel and developer mode enabled!!

So what you posted above is all that you need to do for root? You definitely have a much more concise explanation than the main thread. The other instructions made me feel like I was back on my old Droid 2 working from the giant tutorial threads over on rootzwiki, hah.
I'm also guessing that as you mentioned elsewhere that if we wish to run a custom ROM we'll have to reflash the stock kernel before doing so?
Does it matter whether or not its 4.4.4 or 5.1.1

If you're wanting to unlock the bootloader, root and install TWRP then no it doesn't matter. Now if you want to install a custom ROM that is 5.1.1 then you WILL have to be on that firmware if you are currently on 4.4.4

The instructions for rooting suggest installing the Emotion kernel first.
Many of the ROMs available to flash will suggest which kernel to use. You can go directly to that kernel.

BLU Studio 5.0 C (D536U)- Root, ROMs, Recovery

Hello again XDA, I just got my hands on a BLU Studio 5.0 C (D536U) and I just thought I'd share my contributions here. I don't have the device for long so whatever I post here was only tested by me for a short period of time.
While, there's already a rooting method for this phone, it's done with Kingroot which I do not like. So I ported CTR recovery and flashed SuperSU to get my root.

Backup stock ROM
There are many ways to back up your phone. Some are better than some but you can decide which you want to use. I recommend using SPFT.
Using custom recovery
Flash any custom recovery of your choice
Go to backup and backup all partitions.
Reboot when completed.
NOTE: If you want to reduce backup size, for TWRP enable compression and for CTR, set default backup type to tar+gzip.
Using SPFT
https://forum.hovatek.com/thread-526.html
Using MTK Droid Tools
http://www.gizmochina.com/2014/07/0...ackup-using-mtk-droid-tools-and-then-unbrick/
NOTE: You would need to be rooted and have Adbd Insecure installed and enabled.

Flash your stock ROM, boot it. Root with Kingroot (older version, like 4.5.0) and flash your recovery with Rashr or Flashify. After flashing your recovery, remove Kingroot with SuperSuMe and flash SuperSU.

Try to find an older firmware version that can be flashed with Odin. Usually system updates patch exploits commonly used by one-click root apps, and only an older build will fix the issue. Hope this helps.

Okay thanks ☺
Hello sir
Follow my steps for successful TWRP/ROOT
1.)Download and install Samsung USB Drivers
2.)Download TWRP 3.0.2.0
3.)Download Odin
4.)Download SuperSU.zip file
For download links message me or add me on facebook facebook. com/fRoD.cs
After you complete this 4 steps shutdown your phone and enter into Download Mode
Volume Down + Power + Home
Select continue by Volume Up key
Now connect phone with usb cable into pc and run Odin as administrator
Click on AP box and select the twrp.tar file you download before
Go to Options tab and uncheck Auto Reboot, make sure that only F, Reset Time is checked and click start
After successfully installed TWRP , remove the battery, put it back and make sure that you go into recovery mode immediately!!! Volume Up + Power + Home
If you boot up the phone it will restore the original recovery. Thats why you need to go to recovery mode first.
First time you boot in recovery it will be shown a TWRP screen asking to allow modifications to system partition. Swipe to accept that.
Now select Install option and select SuperSU.zip file. By default it should be in Download folder, and swipe to start install
After installing click reboot and your SM-G361F will be rooted. You should have SuperSU app in the menu

Root is not required to flash TWRP and a custom ROM.
No but OP has no PC to flash TWRP .

Do you know how to do that?
I can't find on Google realyble source
The simplest way would be to flash twrp using Odin. Then use twrp to flash the custom ROM. You'll need a computer to do this.
Kingroot does not root NOTE3 (at least not new firmwares) so far I know.
check these articles:

A PC is mandatory to acomplish the process.

seriously? would you explain how to do that?
To flash a custom ROM, you could use Odin to flash TWRP and then flash a custom ROM from TWRP. I have used this procedure on the note 2, note 3, s3, and s4.
Afaik, only the USA note 3, other than the T-Mobile note 3, have locked bootloaders.
As above.
Some roms are rooted.

Odin + TWRP.tar file
For model and version required for rom.

When I try to go to recovery I get message:
Fail to normal boot to recovery

Something like that..
I try with Odin to install recovery. I find file twrp-3.2.1-0-ha3g.img.tar,try couple time and very time is the same, I get message when I try to go to recovery, could not normal boot.
