If you hold down you power button for 10sec, it should force your phone to turn off. If you turn it on again after that will it then boot?

Do you have a custom kernel installed, maybe a double tap to wake feature or similar is misbehaving?
On the matter of your previous problem, could you post what you did to fix it? It could be useful to someone else with the same problem. ?

BOOT LOOP

is it possible to turn the phone off or start recovery mode without taking out the battery in case of a BOOT LOOP, sometimes it is not possible for me to take my phone out of the protective case and take the battery out if a boot loop happens
You can enter recovery mode using the "famous" 3-button press. But you cannot turn it off. A long press of the power button only reboots the phone.

Actually, if you long-press the 3 button combination while the phone is on, it will boot into recovery (or download) just fine.
EDIT: Just keep them held down until it reboots. It takes ~10 seconds.
Download quickboot from the market.

Could you please enlighten me: situation from the post 1 is: BOOT LOOP.
your advice is: go into the Market, and then download Quick Boot.
Brilliant, I think, I'd only would like to have explanation, on which stage of the BOOT LOOP are you suggesting the Market opening, download, install and run Quick Boot?

wolf your advice was not wise so shush
no app will help you enter download/cwm while your phone will bootloop
you can press and hold power that will restart phone but in case of bootloop that does not help
you can press volume down+menu+power and hold untill you will see yellow download triangle'
you can press volume up+menu+power and hold untill you will see cwm recovery starting
that combination does nothing unfortunately. x10 mini.
care to post on proper forum for your phone ??
Actually I have found that if the phone is boot looping you don't even need to press the power button. Most the the time you can just press home and vol up or down to get recovery/download mode (or both to get recovery on bell kg3) when the phone does it's next boot. My theory is that the power button isn't part of the button combo per se, you just need it to turn on the phone if it is off.
Of course you can always hit the power button anyways if that doesn't work. The power button held should make the phone reboot in about 10s no matter what, with or without a recovery/download mode combo.

If you are getting a boot loop, but can't get into download mode (no matter what combo you're pressing) you're still OK.
What you need is the "jig". Either make one, or pickup a cheap "download mode jig" off of eBay.
As long as you can see the boot screen, the jig can still get you into dl mode...

download mode

Im having a really hard time getting my LG to download mode. I have the verizon version and I am pressing volume up while trying to reboot and plugged usb in at the same time. I followed the steps in the thread to restore back to stock. I am even trying my roms extended reboot which is malladus rom but instead of rebooting to download mode, it keeps rebooting the phone.
If you're able to do so, you could use the app called Rebooter. Gives you options to reboot into several modes.
Try turning the phone off. If you can do that hold the vol+ button then plug in the usb. Will boot to download mode. If you cannot power off completely, leave the usb plugged into the phone and computer, power off, and as soon as you feel the haptic feedback from the reboot immediately hold the vol+ button. I had a bootloop and that's what I had to do to get into download mode to relfash stock.

Pull the battery. Put it back in. Hold power button and volume down until you're in download mode.

Well that's deffinately weird.
Is it under warrenty? Because if you can't get to download mode I'm thinking that's a next step.
How about recovery? Can you get to recovery? Power plus volume up?

if I could get in to recovery , this thread was not exist because in "basic" bootloops
I know how to fix.
warrenty it's a bit of a problam because my phone is rooted and rooted phones disable the warrenty
but it's dont boot up so how can know he is rooted LOL, I think I'll go to the store i bought it from
and ask to fix this, but I prefer to fix it in my home so if threre is a solution I'll take it

[Q] Can someone help with the solution?

Hey guys,my phone will automatically turn itself on when i insert my battery. Then after the Samsung logo, the screen automatically turns black. I first suspected that it was a battery problem, but that did not turn out to be the case. I think it has something to do with the power button. I also tried to boot it up into recovery mode but the screen still went black before i had the chance to do anything. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi
it may be the power button , try to press on it a few time and see if you can release it ..if not you may have to replace it , is not an uncommon issue

Even with the charger on?
Why you said that the battery is ok?
It's definitely a stuck power button

Try to let the battery drain and make the phone die, then try to charge it when its off and get to download from when its off.
Also have you tried a jig to get into download mode and stay there?

When you try to go in recovery mode keep pressed longer volume up and home, release power when screen is on. I had this issue and worked for me this way
