Samsung s6 Edge Plus G928F EFS problem - Galaxy S6 Edge+ Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, I have a problem with my Samsung s6 edge plus (G928F). I did write a file .cert for a imei repair and everything went successfully. After a hard reset, the phone is stuck on the startup screen (Samsung logo) and only goes into download mode and recovery. Having blocked the FRP can not write kernel or recovery alternatives to start the phone. I would like to restore the efs phone or replace the original files .cert so as to restart the phone (I have both backups efs and cert). Is there a way to flash the efs in download mode?

You should have the latest version of flash the firmware
Let him enter the activation page Then wipe out the FRP I think you should know the method He need OTG line to complete
Then your phone after successful activation You need to ROOT
With your BOX
then restore
your EFS or write CERT
Repair or modify your IMEI

same problem for me My EFS deleted and i dont know how can i fix it .

If you don't know what you are doing my advice would be to
go to http://SamMobile.com and download the official kitkat
4.4.2 SM-900 firmware and flash it using Odin.
Be sure to do a full wipe including system, data, cache, dalvik
and last but not least a factory reset in twrp or cwm recovery
before you start the odin flash.
You will need to re-root your phone afterwards and install twrp
or cwm recovery. This is the surest way to resolve your network
and other issues.
This will give you a fresh clean start.
This will solve it.
Do you have twrp or cwm backup.
if not reflash VN rom 14.1 and you should get it back. secondly you can flash the modem attached.
1. wipe the device including internal memory in the twrp memory. put the phone in download mode. flash the modem via cwm rcovery
2. go back to recovery do just a factory reset.
3 now get any 4.4.2 stock rom for your region from sammobile and flash it using odin.
when the phone is rebooting and you see the Samsung logo pull the battery. put the battery back, go back to recovery do a factory reset. then let the boot complete.
it should be fine.
if it help don't forget to press thanks

sorry didn't understand you I was answering the op.
if you flashed vn rom earlier you should just do it again. just make sure you do a factory reset , and dalvik wipe.
If you need further help just look in the vn-rom thread for flashing procedure. anyway

IMEI & baseband 'Unknown' after installing ROM

Ever since I've flashed latest SuperMan-Rom V1.5.1 using TWRP 2.0.3-0, Since then I lost IMEI, baseband etc, I can't even able to place/receive any calls. Baseband version is 'Unknown' and IMEI & IMEISV (slot 1 & slot2 ) are 'Unknown' too. Any ideas how to resolve this? Thanks in advance.

So check this out. Try this. Go download your odin for your phone. You can download anyone. Just makensure it is newer or the same as what you have. After you add everything to Odin, click option tab and make sure Phone EFS Clear and Phone Bootloader Update are checked. Then flash the odin rom. Lmk if that works.

No, I did not.
Go download smart Switch, boot your phone to download mode. In samsing smart switch click more emergency firmware initialization then click the other tab.... itll ask for your model numeber then a window below will ask for your serial. When it accepts it, it will attempt to restore it. It will show you the rom that came with your phone. Right that down. Let it do its thing. There is another thread on this forum you will need the binary for your phone.
---------- Post added at 05:18 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:16 PM ----------
Likewise if you can get into twrp, use the file manager to delete everything in the efs folder. And actually you dont need the original rom. Just download apdn or apdu. But you will nees the binary too.

So guys if you are getting a DRK error after flashing the Odin restore? GO ahead and try flashing Chainfire's root. This will get the phone to boot up, that is after you flash the Binary and then the Odin rom, the flash chainfire. Remember, you will have to flash Chainfire going forward forever, every time you use Odin to restore them room. Otherwise, youtherwise you will get a device root key error and refuse to boot up.

Did you flash the Binary of the Rom?
Follow the directions in this rom. See after you flash the Binary Odin, if your IMEI shows up. If it does flash the Odin Full restores, any , it doesn't matter. You will get a DRK error or you should, then Flash Chainfire
http://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-edge/how-to/guide-how-to-fix-check-drk-imei-issues-t3379516
After this if you get DRK errors, Flash Chainfires CF-Root.

Thanks for your suggestion, I've tried flash Binary(exactely followed the steps), Kies urgent recovery, but nothing help, im going to try edit my broken EFS file.
Wait, you don't restore it with Kies, you have to use Smart Switch, then choose more... Emergency Firmware Initialization... Then enter your model number and then it will ask for your serial.
So when you flash the Binary, there is a secret menu, top left corner, click it and then you should see all these menu buttons, choose settings. It will look like stock Android. Go down to backup and reset, and fully wipe through that. Then flash the Binary, see if you get an imei in the IMei screen remember you have to type *#06# in the screen keypad. If you see your imei, good, power down, boot into download mode, and flash the Full Odin Rom.... If you get DRK error, flash Chain Fire CF-Root.
---------- Post added at 02:02 AM ---------- Previous post was at 02:01 AM ----------
*********Disclaimer********** If you get your device working, you willl always need to flash Chainfire CF-Root to get it booting, no matter which Odin rom you flash. Don't ever uncheck oem unlock, then you will not be able to flash Chainfire and your device is bricked for good.

I did everything you said, first I recovered by using Smartswitch, then checked OEM Unlock and flashed binary. After boot in Binary I checked the secret menu and did a wipe in settings from that secret menu. Then I flashed the Binary again via Odin. I dialed *#06# after reboot but imei is still missing. While stay in the Binary screen about 3 mins, the screen became black and display "CP CRASH UPLOAD MODE".
I appreciate your help bro... maybe it will be solved in next few weeks, I feel tired with flashing and flashing, maybe it's time to go with IOS series lol.

LOL don't stop there, but take a break. That is what I did, god I flashed so many times.
When you are rested......
Next step Flash the regular Odin Restore rom, this is different from the binary. BTW, try taking your SIM card out of the phone when you do this. If your phone boots up after the Odin restore, see what your baseband is. If it doesn't root it, then install twrp. I went into TWRP and used the file manager to delete everything in the efs files. I think something gets backed up or stored there from the bad csc files we flashed. No matter how often we flash, they are still there. Delete everything in the efs folder. Then go back to download mode.... Flash Binary.... Then Flash Odin Restore Rom.... Then Chainfire Auto-CF root.
While doing all this, check these options in Odin Clear Phone EFS, and Phone Boot Loader, I have also wiped the NVRAm option and Also repartitioned.

I will let you know the result. Again, thank you so much for the help
And if you are able try to restore through Samsung Smart Switch. It won't work after the restore, but honestly all are an attempt to repair what was done with Superman Rom.
After the Odin Restore, try Chainfire. The rom may look to be chain rebooting. Force it restart yourself.

well, heres some stuff about this exact topic on the S4. It says that if youre 100% sure that the efs is borked, then delete the folder and itll put you into permanent safe mode, but then gives instructions on how to exit permanent safe mode

Mobile go backup F***ed up really bad... Bootoop, FRP and dm-verification j500fn

Hi, I have a J500FN stuck in bootloop, in recovery mode there's the message "dm-verification failed" and when I try to flash TWRP via odin , I get a "FRP lock". I can flash the stock firmware to revive the device AFAIK, but I really need to backup the data (pictures & contacts that aren't backed up in cloud).
All this hell is caused by a Mobile go backup that my friend tried to do, the app rebooted the device initially, then started to bootloop. Any solution to backup or restoring to normal the device without wiping data? I just really need a way to boot up the device and backup the data, so I don't really need the device to work flawlessly (maybe a dirty flash?).

Nice. Same on my end
Enable OEM unlock in developer options in stock rom before flashing custom recovery.
Disable F.reset time in odin and using 7-zip rename odin md5 file to have extension .tar . Open it and remove userdata from it. Then flash package using odin. That's how i revived my s3 a year ago. Now i own a nexus, so it is as simple as dirty flashing fsctory image piece
You just need to flash the stock firmware, your personal data will remain intact.
Once booted enable OEM unlock in developer settings then flash twrp.

S7 Bootloop

I have just rooted my phone to fix my efs partition finally. I unrooted my phone. I went and clicked uninstall on magisk and went into settings and factory reset my phone. It rebooted and TWRP said something that i forgot. I slid the bar and now I am stuck in an endless bootloop with installing updates and then no command. What do I do now? I have tried to reflash firmware with odin and tried to redo recovery but it is not working. The recovery comes up with an error 'Device 4 Binary 0'.

so i flashed the phone, it looked good so far, it said installing updates and erasing then when i try too turn it on its still says no command. I think this phone is permanalty bricked after i factory reset it i will have too get a new phone now. :crying:
The strange thing is that when i open download mode it says that current binary is samsung official but the system status is custom as i had it rooted before. Can this mean anything?

The phone should reboot itself once your odin install in complete.
Connect phone to pc
Put all the stuff in odin Ap Cp Bl and csc
Go to options and select nand erase and autoreboot and repartition.
Flash

If this doesn't work either flash TWRP again and install a custom rom.
