Actually because, MediaTek does not provide any source about their chipset helio x10 (the same reason you cannot have a unlock bootloader too) developers cannot do anything about it yet. First step to unlock more bands is having a unlock bootloader and then modifying RIL files and maybe Kernel as well so it's very difficult and long process and need skilled developers. So maybe, somebody can do it in future but, I don't think it will happening soon specially for meizu mx5

I have an Vns-l23 from latin america and i want to change carrier but it has a 900MHz band and my model only support this bands.
4G: FDD B2(1900MHz)/B4(1700MHz)/B5(850MHz)/B7(2600MHz)/B28(700MHz)
But i've researched and models like vns L21,L22 and L31 support band 8 and i want to know if there is a way to have LTE in this band in my phone, maybe changing ROM or something similar.
I've found methods in google but are only for qualcomm processors and doesn't work.
I'm using Cyanogenmod ROM and i haven't tried if this band is compatible but i want to make sure that it works before i change carrier.
If someone confirm that this band work in CM or know how to make compatible, please solve my dude.
PD: excuse if i made mistakes, english is not my native language.

As far as i know, is this a hardware thing and cannot be "unlocked" via software. If the latin american modem does not come with lte 800 support, i think it is imposible to "unlock".

I had asians firmware was-lx2 but i need to use it in Argentina, with other band for 3g and 4g.
So i chanhed firmware to latinoamerican was-lx3.
I supposed it would unlock me the same frequencies that the p10 Lite in latinamerica is using qhen you buy it original, but at the moment (1 day) i think nothing happend.. i do not hace 3g nor 4g.
What do you think?

The cellphone only have aws in 3g, the cellphone support band 4lte ?
I dont want brick the new cellphone, the proce is snapdragon 430 (xiaomi 3s) actuallity global version

There are some ways on the internet for different Snapdragon devices and CPUs .
Never heard any Mi Note 2 user that he succeded doing such operation...
I guess you don't have the global version and need band 20 for LTE...
Maybe someone will come with a different and better answer, but as i know, you can unlock them in software but hardware does not support those additional bands that the Global version come with...
