What is system image?
When I open the backup menu I get an option I've never seen before in other phones called "system image".
Could someone please explain to me what it contains? And is there a need to back this up?
How to flash ?

Can someone confirm this as working?
Should i rather wait for official twrp?
I have had old phones quite a while now and being a bit causious because i usually don´t spend 300€ to a phone.

hey, so i just flashed this TWRP recovery and i managed to boot into TWRP recovery. But, whenever i click the 'Reboot' option or 'Power Off' option, the TWRP just stays right there and it won't even reboot or power off. I have to hold down the power button to turn off the phone and power it back. Any ideas why this is happening and anything that i've done wrong in the process?

Its a Bug, i guess same is happening with everyone. We just have to wait for official TWRP. and also
Bug Till NoW
Extra Option Named System partition Under Backup, Which has no Function and Doesn't Work.
Cant reboot/power off from recovery as it just freezes the recovery.
OTG doesn't work in Recovery.
TWRP gets replaced with Stock recovery after each Boot.

I've found three recoveries floating around on the forum so far. Two are in this thread -- one is in the first (1st) post under the "recovery" subtitle and the second is in the seventh (7th) post.
The other one is in this post. You have to download the Nexus_7_Restore_F.zip file and unzip it. Once you do that you will find a recovery.img file in it.
Hope one of these works. My bet is the last one will at the very least. Let us know how it turns out for you.
Thank you so much I'll let you know! Ah it looks like the stock kernel is in the last one too that's good..hopefully sometime soon we can get factory images to make things easier haha

I tried flashing all of the above. With the third one (contained within the Nexus_7_Restore_F.zip), when I reboot to recovery, I get the Android with the red exclamation mark, no go. So I manually flashed TWRP back. It seems that until we get an official factory image from Google (if ever), we're stuck on TWRP. Unless there's something I haven't considered.

Unless I'm mistaken the Android with a red exclamation is what you should see if you have the stock recovery installed...which means it was successful. At that point there is some combination of buttons that must be pressed to restore the recovery but I don't remember what it is (I think it might be Vol up + Power but I don't know for certain so I wouldn't try that until someone else confirms it).

Try VOL+ Power to reset it.

That actually did the trick.
I guess the tablet was stuck in some sorta weird power-state.
Tried it once, but probably held the buttons down too shortly.
Managed to get it to flash once, the three times.
Got into flashmode from there, everything running fine on 5.0.2 stock atm.
I guess next step is to root it
Thanks again man.

TWRP 3.0 M86 fastboot flashable image
TWRP 3.0 M86 flashable zip
Stock Recovery flashable zip
Unlocked BL flashable zip
Install
With BL unlocked reboot into fastboot mode and flash:
Code:

Cautions
Before flashing stock rom with TWRP replace bootloader file with unlocked one inside rom archive!!!!
Another method is to flash unlocked BL and TWRP zips immediately after flashing stock rom (need testing)

I recently flashed my 6T to stock from EvolutionX and locked the bootloader, and somehow in the process, it seems my keyboard isn't able to display or type any emojis. The steps I followed are:
HTML:
1. fastboot reboot bootloader
2. fastboot boot twrp
3. flash latest OOS
4. reboot bootloader
5. fastboot boot twrp
6. flash OOS
7. boot system
8. reboot bootloader
9. fastboot oem lock
10. boot system and setup (sign in to google, etc)
Is there any step that I missed, or any way to recover this without rooting/unlocking again?

I recently flashed my 6T to stock from EvolutionX and locked the bootloader, and somehow in the process, it seems my keyboard isn't able to display or type any emojis. The steps I followed are:
1. fastboot reboot bootloader2. fastboot boot twrp3. flash latest OOS4. reboot bootloader5. fastboot boot twrp6. flash OOS7. boot system8. reboot bootloader9. fastboot oem lock10. boot system and setup (sign in to google, etc)

Reflash your ROM through stock recovery ..
You're missing the reserve partition cause you've flashed through twrp..
If you still dont have emoji
root your phone and flash this module

Maybe I'm missing something? The only options I see when I'm recovery are reboot and wipe data/cache

Yes you're missing the essential you evidently need TWRP to do that...

Local upgrade
You could also just run msmdownloadtool, it will reset the device to full stock. There is a version for 10.3.0, just run it and upgrade.

I thought I had to use stock recovery to flash this. Can I just fastboot boot twrp and flash it from there?

From the settings menu in the os right? I tried that and it kept asking me to move the upgrade file to the root of the internal storage, like it didn't see it or something

This is a T-Mobile device that has been converted to international fw. Would I use the international 10.3.0 msm file?

No luck using the latest official fw from OnePlus website. Is there anything else left to try?

Correct. Flashed using local upgrade from inside the os and still didn't fix it.
Edit: after uninstalling updates for Gboard they returned. Thanks everyone for all the replies!
