Does anyone know if this phone will work with the Verizon/Straight Talk service? I am currently using a Note 3 and am looking to get a new phone.

I know for fact that it will. A friend of mine activated his with Straight Talk a few weeks after launch. If you already have a compatible SIM, then it should be swap and go. Since he activated new service, there were some hiccups since it was a new to the network phone, but he hasn't had a single problem using Straight Talk on Verizon.
Yes it will
It will work on all three carriers. At&t, Verizon and T-mobile Straight Talk BYOP Sims.
Yep, I just transferred my phone number from a nexus 5 to my moto x by just getting a nano sim card and it transferred it in less than 5 minutes.

I am current Verizon subscriber and am thinking of switching to Straight Talk depending on how good the AT&T service is. I would like to get a Nexus 4. If I get a AT&T SIM for a Nexus 4, can I get a new phone number to test the service out? If it works well, I would then want to port my Verizon number over to Straight Talk. i don't want to just port my VZW over immediately in case I can't get service where I need it. Thanks!

Once the ST number is activated, they will not be able to port the number. They will need to send you a new sim. That's how I did it.

Ah! I was just going to order the phone, then I noticed that Straight Talk no longer offers AT&T SIM cards, only T Mobile! I will have to find one somewhere else. Any ideas where to find one?

I switched over to T-Mobile and got a new number when I did so. After about a week or so of good coverage I ported in my old number. No need to get a new sim card, just called customer service and I had my old number less than 24 hours later. Did the same thing with my wife's N4. So yes, you can do what you are trying to do, at least with T-Mobile anyway.

I did that a couple of months ago. ST had some refurbished flip phones free when you buy a card. We just spent $30 to buy a month then rode around testing signal strength. This doesn't help with data speed tests, but odds are, if you get a strong signal you should get decent data. Once you're happy you can order your sim for the N4 and port your number to it.
Option 2, jif you already have your N4 you could just order 2 sims. Activate 1 without porting, then if you're happy, chuck that sim & activate/port to the 2nd.

HELLO,
I HAVE A GALAXY NOTE 3 VERIZON
ANDROID VERISON 4.3
TO MAKE A LONG STORY SHORT , I HAD MY NOTE 3 FLASHED TO STRAIGHT TALK,,,
USED TO FOR OVER A YEAR, I CHECKED MY IMEI NUMBER WITH STRAIGHT TALK AND IT NOW
CAN BE BROUGHT TO STRAIGHT TALK WITH A VERIZON SIM.
I TOOK MY PHONE BACK TO FACTORY SETTINGS, BUT THE PHONE WOULD NOT ACTIVATE ON STRAIGHT TALK
SO I TRIED TO TAKE IT TO VERIZON AND THEY ARE TELLING ME IT CAN BE ACTIVATED BECAUSE IT IS ASSIGNED
TO ANOTHER CARRIERS TOWER.
WHAT CAN I DO, I WANT TO USE THE PHONE ON STRAIGHT TALK WITH VERIZON SIM.
WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN, HOW CAN I GET MY PHONE STRAIGHT.:fingers-crossed:
Try these settings, they should work. I have not tried it but heard if you have the lte sim they sell for CDMA phones it should work.

Ok have a few questions for you guys. I upgraded from a samsung s4 that I had on straight talks CDMA 4g LTE sim. It worked well but the s4 didn't get good signal. So I bought the verizon s5 and took the sim out of the s4 and I stalled it in the s5. So the data worked great, had great signal and talk function worked well. My problem was that I could receive texts but couldn't send them. I called straight talk and they told me I need a sim setup to my new phone. So I went to Walmart and got one. I called them and had it activated. Now the data works, talk works, BUT now I can send texts but can not receive them. Opposite of what it was doing with the other sim. I was on the phone with them for 1.5 hrs Saturday and another 2hrs Sunday and the can't seem to get it to work. My sister in law has a Verizon s5 with a straight talk CDMA sim. I tried hers but it doesn't work at all in my phone and mine doesn't work at all in hers.
I bought another sim kit but don't know if i need it or not.
Do you all think it's the sim or my phone that is the problem?
This is just crazy. I use this phone for work and I really need it to work. Any insite would be greatly appreciated

If you "really need it to work," then use it the way it's supposed to be used. Use it on Verizon. not Straight Talk. Just because you want something to work out doesn't mean it does. You bought an off-carrier phone and you expect it to work seamlessly? If ST can't help you, then good luck!
Look at access Point names under date
Well straight talk got me to put a new sim in it. So all works except I can't send texts now but I can receive them again. So this tells me that it's a straight talk issue. Wonder why out of the 5 friends and family that all have this same phone and straight talk service I'm the only one with issues

Check APN settings, see what your friends settings are. Try different texting app maybe hangouts?
Hangouts won't work either. I can not change the apn settings as it sees it as a Verizon sim

I have a Galaxy S5 currently and will be receiving my Nexus 6P very soon and would like some clarification in regards to the SIM on Verizon's network.
Since the S5 uses a micro-SIM, besides getting a nano-SIM from Verizon, what else do I need to do? A local rep asked if if it's an NFC SIM or not. I told him, "I don't know" and he said to just bring the phone whenever I have it to figure it out. What do I need to do to activate the SIM?
just use a sim cutter and cut your micro to a nano.

I just had a similar experience. Although with 2 different devices, your results should be the same...
I had an LG G2 with a micro-SIM, going to the Moto X Pure needing a nano-SIM. Best Buy (where I bought it) wanted $30 to set the Moto up, and a franchise VZW store wanted $25. So I went into a VZW corporate store and they installed a nano-SIM for free. Couldn't have been nicer about it as well.
The Moto is carrier unlocked but it posed no problem for the corp. VZW rep to activate, and it only took about 5 minutes. I'm anxiously awaiting delivery of my Nexus 6P - 64gb, and I expect I'll have the same experience then as well..
You don't need an NFC SIM. The NFC SIM cards were for ISIS/Softcard NFC payments. Android Pay doesn't need an NFC SIM card. Of course, your phone will also work fine with an NFC SIM card.
re
no need for a sim cutter.
Just watch a few of the how to videos on youtube and freehand cut yours.
Took me 2 min and some fine trimming..
Its easier then you think.

I'll sell you my sim cutter. paid $7 for it. You can have it for $3. Worked perfectly. Easy as using a hole puncher. Cut it down, popped it in and no dealing with VZW. With UDP....I won't risk letting any of those store morons touch my account for anything.

there is already a thread covering this topic but I would avoid going to a VZW store if possible. you'll just be wasting an hour of your life and they'll likely try to sell you a $20 SIM you should be getting for free.
figure out how to cut it yourself or buy a cutter.
See my post here.

walk into any verizon store and get a SIM. i did yesterday in the city. guy gave it to me for free. went home and live chatted verizon. asked to setup a new SIM. no questions asked, activated no problem in my 6P
Hello, just wondering how hard is to activate an N6P in Sprint and also how good has been working just thinking on get one of this phones. thanks in advance.
Activation went without any issue. Service is good. Only drawback is that wifi calling is not available.
I upgraded from a M8 and had to get a new Sim chip. Once I tracked one down at a sprint store it was pretty easy.
Quick and easy activation. A quick note that the required sim for Nexus 6p is not carried in all Sprint stores, at least not my local one because it's the size of a closet compared to the one I was refered to that had the sim. Call quality and data speeds are great in my area. Hope you are able to activate yours soon!
Easy as ****. Walked in, told them what was up, they went in the back and got a sim card. Took less than 20 minutes
thanks guys, I have the Moto X pure edition, can be the same sim card or is different?
Just get a new sim to be safe. It's free.
