Profile Photo not showing - OnePlus 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everyone, I am having an issue with my phone. For some reason my profile picture is not showing just that blue icon. Can anyone help me with this seems kinda crazy that it just doesn't work. Tried setting it in the user profile and it doesn't do anything. Also another question I'm only using one sim in my phone but sometimes on the lock screen it shows that one has no service. Why does this show up when only one sim is in use, does this happen for anyone else?

If you look in your contact list, not the one with a phone on it,the one with a person on it ?
At the top you will find a profile that is supposed to be you and if you fill in you name and put your profile picture in right there it will show up in that blue icon as you wish.

Clock missing from title bar...help anyone?

Hey I got my XDA Exec this morning which I'm really please about, been using it for a couple of hours but for some reason the clock has disappeared from the title bar in the today screen and I can't get it back!
Does anyone know what might have happened, about the only thing I've got installed is Pocket Plus 3.
Infact i've noticed that the volume icon is gone too, but if i click where it should be the pop-up appears for me to change the volume levels.
It's like there is something covering these two icons and it's driving me mad, having the time visible there is about one of the most useful things
This is a common problem
This happened to me too. It was caused by the O2 software. If you do a search on this site using the words "clock missing" there have been many posts on this subject and the solutions of how to remove the O2 software are posted too.
The O2 interface also seems to slow up the machine and cause a lot of freezing requiring a soft reset. My machine has been tons better since removing it.
If you decide that you would rather have the clock than the O2 software (and most people do) and decide to remove it, remember first of all to save your phone and GPRS setting to your filestore! This can save you a lot of time. If you like the 02 today screen theme then you could save this too.
Also I recommend that you make a backup first so that you can go back to how you are now if you need to.
Good Luck
Open the clock and you should find an extra tab at the bottom called - "More" select that and a new option appears Display the clock on the title bar in all programs.
Neither of those options worked, in the end I hard resetted the device and set it up in corporate mode I found using a PIN I got by just searching google! No more O2 Active anywhere, and I've got my clock back! I'd only had the device a few hours so luckily it didn't take too long to set everything back up how it was before hand The only thing I had to do was manually set up the GPRS connection again but that was simple enough since I already had all the settings saved

anyone know if this is possible???

hey Guys hope you can help..
Prior to upgrading to stock rom 1.72 - i remember everytime the device was connected to wifi or mobile internet there was a timer on the notification screen to show how long the device was connected. Htc have removed this on the 1.72 Rom i thought it was quite handy to keep track as you know the device is very sensitive eg its always connecting to internet if i forget to lock it properly so my question, is there anyway i can get this back working on the hd2 notification screen?
is this possible??let me knowTHANKS
is there a way this can be done
tap the signal/battery icons at the top, it should bring up a balck notifications screen, which shows connected time.
samsamuel, i have and its not there! it hasnt been there since the 1.72rom has been out..any idea why?
nope, sorry, its there on 2.x roms. COuld it be that you have uinstalled something that has an activation area that is covering that part of the top bar? (Ark switch for example)
Does anything come up when you tap there? or nothing at all?
When I tap I get the notification screen when connected to wifi or mobile Internet it just says connected where the timer use to be.. I'm sure most users on stock1.72 would agree?
i dont think i uninstalled anything -whats ark switch about?
ark switch is a task manager, which by default the click area is teh top left of teh task bar, but i know that you can configure teh click area manually, and i once did this myself and forgot, and i had put teh click area over teh top of teh icons, so the notification area stopped coming up.
However, its not that, cos you said the black screen still comes up. (Good task manager tho..)
I am on the stock 1.66WWE ROM. When I click on the top of the screen, I am taken to the black 'Notifications' screen.
If I am currently usiing my operator's data connection, it will show that I am connected and how long I have currently been connected for.
thanks both, i dont understand why htc removed this..can anyone else on stock1.72 confirm that this is not available so i know its not a fault on my device thanks

Why just not flash to a HTC 1.66 ROM, as it is the same as the 1.72 Telephone company ROM but without the telephone company's add-ons (bloatware)?

[Q] X2 Charging and other queries

Hi guys. I've been trying to search for this problems i've encountered on my X2 and i simply can't find any answers for it.
I have few minor problems which i want to ask.
1. My device keeps on charging even if the led image says that it's already 100%. I only assumed it is still charging because it is well written on its Status right above the led image.
Is this normal, and is there a way to fix this if ever? I'm worried that my battery gets overcharged if i wont to anything about this.
2. Sometimes my camera button fails to work. It happened several times now that when i try to activate the camera using its button on the right side the camera doesn't appear right away. Another thing, sometimes when i'm trying to take pictures and i pressed the camera button, the camera will just pause for a while and then green square boxes will appear on the screen. No image will be taken. Is that normal? or my camera is having problems?
3. I also noticed that the contacts are filtered by to view all contents (sim and device contacts) by default. I set mine to filter it to be able to just view the device contacts but whenever i open the contacts it reverts back to its default filtering which is "All Contacts". It is very useful at least for me to use the device as the contact's handler because my sim has limited memory and is divided into 2 parts. The first part is the one that appears and the other one can only be viewed if you disable the first part and make the 2nd part available by using the sim services embedded with it. So what i did was i copied all the 1st part and the 2nd part sim contents to my device and i was planning to hide them and use the phone's memory as the handler for contacts.
It was then that i realized the filtering problem. RIght now all copied contacts from my sim appears as well as the other part of the sim which is enabled. Which makes a lot of duplicated contacts (one from the device and one from the sim).
Is there away to make the phone permanently filtered in the device contacts?
4. I saw some of you guys teaching some members here to edit the phone's registry. Can i request for a 3rd party software to do that. Or can i just go directly to the mobile's registry and edit one of it (I don't know to do that by the way :-I )
5. Lastly, is there any way to activate the screen in order for me to unlock it? when the phone is locked and in stand by mode i can't seem to find any buttons to activate it. I am unable unlock the phone because the slide unlock button is not appearing.
What i'm doing to activate the slide unlock button is to press the power button or to slide the qwerty keyboard. I was hoping there are other ways to do it though just like on old phone wherein you can press the menu button and the asterisk key .
One last thing to end my post, please give me a Total Commander link too.
All replies would be very much appreciated sir/ma'am
To the moderators, please lock this thread if ever i violated rules. I just can't seem to locate any answers for my queries that's why i decided to created a thread with all my questions in it.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the reply.
Hmmmmm, regarding my query on the contacts filtering, i'm sure there is a registry tweak to for that. I was trying to look for it last night but i wasn't able to locate it.
Perhaps there are geniuses here that can do that for us.
Registry Editing to make the contacts filtered on "device contacts" by default. The default by the way is filtered as "All Contacts"

What does this mean?

This might be a stupid question but I trying to google it and I didnt find anything. So I was trying to call someone on my nexus 4 today and as i was typing in the number, i type in 7,4, and I accidentally press the # button and a screen appear and it say "SIM card contacts" and it quickly disappear and did nothing I think. Can someone know what did it do, I would greatly appreciate it. I attached a pic of what it look like sorry for the crappy quality, i tried to do a quick screenshot from my phone but it disappeared too fast so i have to used my pocket cam to record it and slow it down. Thanks.
It just loaded the contacts on your sim card. Go to contact, tap the three dots, select contacts to display.

Lock Screen Message not shown after reboot, before unlocking?!

Hi folks,
One of the first things I set up on my 6T was the lock screen message, such that if someone found my phone, they could call a number or email me to help return it. I'm an optimist, eh?
But I just noticed the message doesn't show after a reboot, before the first unlocking of the device following the reboot.
Is there some way to force it to show the message? It's silly if someone finds it but it has powered off meanwhile, that the contact info won't show.
Any thoughts appreciated!

Before unlocking the data is encrypted and therefore inaccessible.
I don't think you can make that work as you want to.
Rather than fussing intensely on this, I could always put my info on a slip of paper taped to the back of the phone, covered by the Karbon case, easily found on inspection by a phone-finder...

If you're handy with photo editing software, you can add the text that you want to display onto an image and set that as you lock screen wallpaper. It'll be behind the shade of the lock screen so not necessarily as clear as the other text, but would still be visible. And you would want to place the text so that it won't be covered by the clock on the regular lock screen.
Unless if you're living in japan, then i think the chances of someone returning it would be 0

thanks for this. I've actually done this on my son's iPhone years ago when they didn't have a lock screen message function that I could find. So it's a good idea to see again. I will look into it and figure out something!
