Thank you. I tried most of them but still does not work. I even paid this sofware "jihosoft android phone recovery" but does not work.

Don't do anything else on the phone you will have to use a windows pictures recovery application to get them Google it.

Why not go to a professional data recovery team ? I bet you'll find plenty within $100 limit! And they might do a better job than a recovery software. Also, do not use your phone if you really want to recover things, the more you use, the more are the chances of overwriting the memory blocks which are holding your deleted data!

MS Marketplace apps....

Hi guys, first off what a great forum this is...brought my HD2 (best phone I have ever used...came from using Symbian) a few weeks ago and I've been on here every day since reading, downloading and tweaking.
One question I have not been able to find an answer to is about MS Marketplace.... I brought a couple of little apps from there but they auto install and I dont know where the cab file for the app is stored? If anyway?
Are the apps you buy tied to the account? I.E If I flash an updated rom would I loose the apps? Or would I be able to redownload them for free when I log into Marketplace?
Thanks for your help, Pete.
P.S Wasn't really sure where to post this, sorry if its in the wrong place.
when you log in the apps are offered up as 'ready to install'. Even free apps are offered up for re-install if you've previously installed them. Quite good really.
Shame the Marketplace is such a piece of crap though on the whole.

Android Mate = free alternative to Root Manager?

Just read about Android Mate. Sounds like it could be the free alternative to Root Manager many people are looking for (I know I am... don't want to purchase Root Manager cause I am not sure if I will be keeping my Vibrant).
The article I read on it claims Android Mate works, although it may take a few attempts.
(For those wondering, I read about Android Mate at hxxp://dottech.org/android/free-app-reviews/17673 <--- I can't post proper link, hence the hxxp, cause I have new account but I assure you that is a legitimate website.)
Root Manager is free, but there is a donate version to give back to the developer for all his hard work.
I'm lost... how is Root Manager free? It says 1.99 euros under marketplace. I am not too sure how this whole donateware thing works, but from what I understand it is just another name to charge for apps? Someone please correct me if I am wrong (noobie here).
I got Root Manager last week
^ dude, come on man....

Where is this free version you speak of? I can't find it on the market. I like to try before I buy.
Come on guys, if you are too cheap to split a couple of euros to the developer, maybe you should stay away from rooting your precious $500 phones
^^ You have a 24 hour window when buying from the market you know?
You guys cant help a developer with an amazing app?
Wrong section.
I am all for paying for good software. I buy Cyan beers and pay for apps. As stated above, just spend the couple bucks.
If your too cheap to buy the app Koush does have functionality in the free version of Rom Manager. It only limits you to a few features. Click on ads to help him out at least.

Free and Paid versions available in market place... search for "ROM Manager"
Oh, nevermind. I was thinking of Root Explorer, not Manager.
I'm not against buying apps I'd actually use. I see no need for Root Explorer yet, was my point of wanting to buy before I try.
I've only had an Android phone for about a month, and I have yet to purchase anything. There's so many apps out there it's hard to know what's worth it and what isn't. Still trying to decide between purchasing App Alarm, or Alarm Clock Plus.
Root Explorer basically allows you to move files around that other file managers do not have access to, thus you can avoid having to use adb/fastboot and typing commands. Just move files around and voila.

Thats ROM Manager, not ROOT Manager.
@People saying "just buy it": As I already mentioned, I don't know if I will be keeping my phone so I don't want to spend the money. Plus, I could "just buy" plenty of apps and rack up a huge bill. Id rather save my budget for apps that don't have free alternatives.
Thanks for the root explorer explanation.
I'm not having much luck with android mate. Have you tried it? I try to delete folders of apps I've uninstalled but they don't get deleted. That and the constant loading bar when trying to view folder contents. Is this working for you? Maybe root explorer would be helpful for me if it serves the same purpose.
I don't mind buying apps and I often give donations to devs who's apps and roms I use. Only trouble is that in many countries payed apps are not yet implied in the market. And here in my country (Netherland) very few people use creditcards and there hard to get (unlike America).
Just give me Paypal ore something similar.
I quite like Super Manager myself. Has ads on it so you can still support the dev.

I use TiBU but since you dont have root maybe this will work for you.
Everyone has trouble when they back up fingerprint settings, just fyi. Personally I root and use titanium backup like the gentleman above. The paid version is the most expensive app I've purchased and worth every penny ^_^ the free version is great as well and since you're probably not the type that needs it over and over, free would do just fine for ya. Hope it helps

Not that this will help the OP's situation, but Motorola should add full online backup capability to your MotoBlur account. That would make MotoBlur something other than the useless POS it is now.

You can use DropBox to store your backups online if you like. Follow that link for extra storage. Here's the Android app for after you sign up: http://goo.gl/EeaT2

How does this belong in Q&A? Do you have a question about it? This is common knowledge. If it annoys you, de-bloat it using the many methods out there.

It's all the extra apps that Samsung has got in there, plus all the extra ringtones, wallpapers, etc.
You can do a few things (all of which require rooting the phone).
The fastest and best method (IMO) would be to install a custom ROM and remove the bloatware that way. Look at Omega ROM
Alternatively, you can do it yourself using root explorer and apps like Root App Delete.
Or use this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2468596
Use any of these methods at your own risk. The first one is the safest and easiest.
Forget it, Samsung has "reserved" a certain amount of space, approx 7gb, for the system files whether its used or not.
You can't change it in any way unless you want to play around with the partition table - pit file... This is an extremely BAD idea...

He can still free up a bunch of space by removing all of the non-essential Samsung apps.

Asa long as they aren't installed as part of the system. Otherwise there's no point as you may free up system memory but you still can't utilise it...

Thats right my friend I noticed exactly that but the taskmanager that samsung provides is bloatware?
Really omg I just cant believe what they are selling
Is there any way to remove completely the whole system memory and replace it with the google stock android while also being able to update the phone normaly.
If there isnt then im just going to swap it for an iphone 5 I made arrangements.
I dont trust all the moded firmware on this forum or anywhere else so is there any genuine 100% firmware from google stock android that I could use
Thank you
You could check out the developement part of the forum for a google rom.
There is no problem with most of what's done here as long as you read and are sure to follow the steps to flash. Most problems are people, and its not just noobs, jumping ahead and stuffing things up...

Lost all my honeymoon pic after 5.1.1 update

Hello, im currently on my honeymoon and i just lost all my pictures that i took on my phone. I received the Lolipop 5.1.1 update yesterday and after my note 4 updated and finished optimizing apps, everything seems normal but my phone restarted and went into recovery mode and wiped everything clean.
I know I should always back up but I didn't have acess to a computer and this never happened before after any updates I received.
Is there any way I can get back my pictures ?
I actually teared up because today is my last day on my honeymoon and I don't want to even tell my wife.
Any help is appreciated.
I m sorry to hear that....i think you did not have a sd card else the pictures would have saved on that. I don't think there is anyway to recover those pictures but dont mess around with ur phone anymore and wait for input from senior members...maybe they can help. Its sad to have lost those pics but.....u shudnt let that ruin ur time mate...u have ur wife with ya And a long life ahead to make memories..cheer up!
Thank you for the kind words
I just wish there's a way , I had lots of special moments in there and lots of videos as well. I told my wife and she was very supportive and not upset at all.
I'll just wait and hopefully there's some goods news . If not I still have lots of good memories from this trip.

for this you can use Recuva but you need a Computer or Wondershare
Dr.Fone für Android
I tried recuva but it's not detecting my phone only pc drives. I had my pics saved on Internet memory of my note and not on an SD card
