Looking at the back of the 6p (aluminum) and noticed that the NEXUS logo is faded. The N is the most faded, the E is a little darker. Finally all the way to the end, the S is the darkest.
Is this fading by design?
On my aluminum, if you look from an angle it does look lighter but it's uniform. No specific individual letter is more faded than another. If yours is fading it could be bad manufacturing.

Well, even though the truth hurts, I'd rather hear the truth.
Off to RMA land now.

I have 2 aluminium units and the logo on the 64gb is visibily more faded than the one on the 32gb. I'll post pics tomorrow.
OMG, you're going to RMA your phone simply because of a fading nexus logo???
Good luck on gambling for a ' perfect ' phone.
I don't see anything in the picture

You just said it with your own words. "Fading Nexus logo."
Printing isnt up to par. My worry is whether itll get worse over time. Thus affecting the resale value when I want to unload it later.

Could you please post a picture if you still have them? I think my 64 Aluminum came with a faded logo as well...most people probably wouldn't notice it, but mine doesn't look as dark gray as some other Aluminums I'm seeing. It looks more like a light-medium gray with a tannish hue to it in certain angles/lighting.

its not a defect. dont send back the phone, its obvious now its jsut how the camera is. I dont really care that much (in fact i dont care at all) because im not a big camera person and when I do take a picture with my phone im not going to expect studio quality anyway.

Seems now it's not
HD2 issue: http://www.gsmarena.com/a_hardware_fault_causes_htc_hd2_*pink*_camera_issues_confirmed-news-1276.php
Try turning off auto white balance.
No change.
lol i just noticed on engadget review, in the photos they took with the nexus one they have the same pink tint towards the middle
so everyone's nexus is having this issue?
So the N1 has pink eye?
I haven't received mine yet...we'll see here shortly...

The hot fix fixed my HD2, i took several photos of white walls and it had completely gone but it was VERY clear before the fix.
Mine does it as well
Someone tell Google and HTC, lol... No seriously..do it.
I just submitted a support ticket to google. I suggest you guys do the same. I linked this thread in the ticket.

Good man.. I'll do the same when I get my phone, lol...
it seems like a low light issue, not as noticeable with bright lighting.
Could just be the camera straining the ISO to a point where it makes the colors get weird. hopefully they can hot fix it

My HD2 did it in bright light, but the hotfix removed the issue.
http://www.techradar.com/news/phone...e-phones/hands-on-white-google-nexus-s-929694
All of those of you that wanted an upgraded Google Nexus S - your wish has been granted, if you consider a new colour an upgrade.
TechRadar got a little look at the new handset on test, and if you're in the market for something different when it comes to a new mobile, then the White Nexus S will at least set you apart.
First impressions make it feel like all Google and Samsung have done is chuck a while plastic cover on the back of the phone, but thankfully it's a little more than that.
Firstly, the whole inside of the phone is now white when you pop the cover off, as well as the extraneous buttons - and these are the things that are actually different on view when you consider the differences between the white and black version.
Sat side by side, you probably wouldn't notice the difference between the two phones from the front, with the same 4-inch Super AMOLED screen on offer. We have no idea why the front isn't also white - we can only assume this messes with the colour perception in some way, as the dual tone looks odd.
We put the black plastic cover on the back of the white Nexus S (there's not a lot else you can do when taking pictures of a new cover) so you can see the difference.
Another key difference, and in our eyes an upgrade, is the back is no longer glossy plastic but a slightly mottled exterior making it easier to hold.
Other than that, the two phones are identical. there's no official White Google Nexus S UK release date, but expect to see the phone sometime in April.
It should be landing on the same £30 a month (ish) tariff as its black brethren on Vodafone - at least now you can decide which version suits you better.

Ok samsung needs to make a non glossy black battery cover ASAP!!!
+1 to SupaDupaFly24!!!
I think the phone looks a bit odd because the front is still just black.
The black cover on the white phone looks cool though.
All they did was change the back? not the front or the bezel?
The non glossy back is a great idea though.
When will they make black battery covers like that?

Looks nice enough but i wouldn't want one over my black one, what i would love though is a nice silver chrome plated GS2 that would be seriously smart.
Looks like the battery cover is smooth doesnt have the same texture as the black one. Also, the official Samsung 2000mah battery only come in black as of now

Hmmm i would have loved it if they made them blink with a blue backlight, but it's still nice. At least the back cover won't become grayish when the finishing will be worn, at a guess...my black one suffers from that a little, and take into account that my phone lives in a full body case 90% of the time

No offence but i prefer black, simply because the screen and proximity and camera looks odd on a white front. Looks more "out there" where as black looks stealth...

I think it's too early to make such assumptions, you have no idea how it would wear, if it wears at all
Just got my n4 replacement. This one obviously doesn't have the ota installed. Question is, should I install the ota? Reason I ask is well, see for yourself.

Now that you point it out, yes it is quite noticeable.
However, what is the point in asking us if you should update? You clearly have both versions right in front of you. Which one do you like more? It's as simple as that...
Interesting. I see the difference. The Verge complained about washed out colours on the nexus 4 in their review but I have seen no difference between the n4 and the gnex personally. Cant wait for custom kernels to allow for tweaking the colours!

Just was wondering if their were more underpinnings to the OTA's then just the december tweak. Anyways, I updated, and boom!, washed out. *sigh*

What's the point? They literally are identical. Redditors like posting frivolous photo posts.
why would you do this? just go on G+ and you can see person after person post pics of the box when it arrives. Mindless and pointless. We all know what the phone and box looks like.

Looking at the way the light plays on the grain of the wood, and the cutout at the camera, I would say its applied to the case. Willing to be proven wrong though. And the corner cuts on a ringke slim extend further into the case, do they not?

You're correct, I looked at it and assumed the white was the silver of the X n the Nexus logo because my brightness on my phone was rather low. That application looks great for or being in a case.
