Volume rocker seems fine. Power button is slightly loose and feels "mushy". Too easy to push it in, hence screen turning off/on a lot more than I'd like.

press harder. I learned quickly that it takes a firm push and you have to hit the button w/o your fingers getting caught up on the sides of the phone.
it's either that or you got a bad button
I have the same issue, this along with the lag I get at times when I attempt to use the camera has me seriously considering returning this phone. The Inspired I returned had non of these issues just a tinny speaker.

Mine wouldnt go to sleep today when pushing the button. Seems to be a few bugs with this phone eh?
I'm starting to look at re-mapping the keyword to allow the volume keys to wake it up, and then use the fingerprint reader to unlock it. That power button seems to fragile to me. To turn the screen off I just use Extended Controls.
Any thoughts?
Widget locker has an option to use the vol buttons for wake
I kinda have the same problem but its when i press the lock button the screen shuts off but then comes right back on. I press it again, it shuts off, then comes right back on.
I had the same problem - power button wouldn't wake phone from sleep.
I had to do a battery pull to resolve the issue.
I'm using the lastest FW.
Motorola phones (Not just Atrix, but Droid X also) have some funky business that sometimes prevents/delays the screen from turning on, even if the button press is registered. This happens with the power button and also the volume buttons if they're used to wake the device (Like with WidgetLocker). I haven't been able to narrow it down, but I suspect it's related to (ab)use of PowerManager's preventScreenOn()

It sounds logic to me, because even editing the right keyboard file to add a wake_dropped to the volume down, it won't turn on the screen. I hate when they change things the way they do with this, the bootloader, etc.
IMO Note 2 has a major flaw with hardware buttons placement, where volume buttons located on exact opposite side of power button, which means in my experience 99% pressing power button I accidentally press volume button too.
Does Note 3 have the same flaw or they actually shifted these buttons away from each other?
P.S.
Also I hope they didn't swap sides for these buttons, making power button on left.
Sorry to report the power and volume up/down are on the direct opposite sides from each other so when you hit power you are gonna hit volume 99% of time as well.
That sucks. Hopefully being narrower it wouldn't be as bad...
On N4 they better move power button higher! or...I'd buy it anyway, I guess...
I just got a Razr M set up and running as my daily driver, running the excellent BlissPop 3.2. I find that the volume buttons on this phone in a Trident case are quite easy to press, so much of the time when I'm pulling the phone out of my pocket, I hit the volume buttons.
I'm fairly sure that my old DroidX running CM11 disabled the volume keys while the screen is off, though I may check that to be sure. They certainly were not as easy to push.
After quite a bit of searching, I can't find how to disable the volume keys while the screen is off, whether or not the phone is locked. There is a setting to disable the volume keys all the time, but that's not an option. I also found a setting to make the volume keys change tracks while music is playing, but that's no good either.
In fact, if the screen is off but the phone isn't locked, I can press volume up or down, and when I turn the screen on with the power button, the volume pop-up is there.
The only button that should be active while the screen is off is the power button! Does anyone know how to make it work this way?
More info: I just determined that if the phone is locked and the screen is off, the volume keys do nothing. That's good, but I don't want to lock my phone every time I turn the screen off, as it becomes annoying to have to enter the PIN all the time.
This "problem" was solved in the 20150506 version. I upgraded over the weekend and discovered that the volume keys work as I wish now.
How are your power and volume buttons in regards to them being loose or not? Mine are just a little loose. Nothing too major but I'd be lying if I said it didn't bother me just s little.

My power button is fine, the volume was very loose and rattly. This along with the non-flush panel on the back and some cosmetic damage on the frame led me to exchange it. Just waiting for my replacement now.
My power button is fine. The volume button is loose on mine though.
Bothers me too, but the rest of the phone is fine so I'm not going to RMA unless I find something really wrong about it.
Mine do not rattle, but the power button requires little force to be depressed. I have accidentally turned off the screen multiple times. My volume buttons are fine though.
The power button on my 6P is very smooth. No "click" when pressing, just..smooth if you will. The volume rocker makes a distinct click pressing either up or down & takes slightly more pressure to click. And I mean slightly!
No complaints here. That's the way it's supposed to be!
Volume button are fine. Power button..eh... smooth? They seem mushy to me. All buttons should have at least SOME feedback. I'm not even sure I hit it most of the time.
My power and volume up button seem some what loose.
anyone else have the same problem with me ?
isit normal these button is loose :crying:
Why did you make a poll with one vote?
Also yes, I have my power button loose and my volume buttons as well. I exchanged the phone and the new one did not have this problem.
