Now that we have Root, we have access to many more things, one being Xposed. Xposed is a firmware that lets you customize your device even more than with root alone.
This guide has been adapted from this guide: http://www.andromods.com/apps-mod/easy-install-lollipop-xposed-framework-without-twrp-cwm-recovery.html
Download the xposed files from here: Latest Lollipop ARM Xposed and Material Design Xposed App (Unofficial)
Sign up for beta for FlashFire here: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/eu.chainfire.flash
Download FlashFire
Grant superuser to FlashFire
Press the "+" in the bottom right corner.
Choose “Flash ZIP or OTA” menu, and keep the “Auto-mount” option unchecked then tap checkmark icon to continue.
Choose the zip you downloaded.
Press the lightning button to start
Wait for it to finish and reboot
Install the apk.
Profit
Hope that helps!

I've got the YouTube ad away, Google play store changelog, boot manager, YouTube background playback.
All working. Need to try greenify, gravitybox, wanam exposed, but fear incompatibility...
This is great for Swype enhancements, to replace that awful amazon keyboard, and for Pandora Patcher.
Thanks

How do you replaced the keyboard?
It worked great, took a bit to install though, it displayed Fire installing update for a bit but that's normal, anyways the guide worked perfectly.

You can replace the keyboard on a stock Fire without root the same way you do on any other device: Install the new keyboard and then set it to default in the input settings. In fact, installing Google Keyboard was one of the first things I did.

Gravitybox LP works for most things, and on the things it does not work on, those don't brick the device. I think Gravitybox is safe to use. Haven't tried Wanam Exposed or Greenify.

It does not, as the tablet does not have a power menu, just a Shut Down script. APM+ will work when we get custom ROMs.

I was looking for a way to remove the VZW boot animation, thanks though.
Easy guide for getting rid of the CUSTOM logo and symbol at boot.
First, you have to install Xposed Framework, this is just an APK that you download from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1574401
Once you install the APK, simply head to the Google Play store and download the Wanam Module at https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ma.wanam.xposed&hl=en
Once Wanam is installed, go into Xposed, and put a check on the module "Wanam" then go into Wanam and then go Security Hacks - Fake System Status.
Note: It took me rebooting a few times and toggling it on and off to get it to work, but was worth it, that logo was U G L Y.

Not being able to make a backup still bothers me. But this Verizon logo and the unlock boot screen are starting to annoy me. Has anyone who has modified either of these had any issues or complications yet? That may reassure me a bit.
No issues that I've seen. Did it 6 am this morning. Haven't had a problem all day. Done a few more reboots when I tweaked more stuff. Still running great.
Sent from my GlaDos Baked Potato
Guys why don't you just apply the boot animation manually? Here is how:
1. Download your boot animation and extract it if it's 7zipped up, you will have 2 files in .qmg file format
2. Use a root browser on your phone to navigate to /system/media
3. Rename bootsamsung.qmg to .bak and also bootsamsungloop.qmg to .bak(so you can revert rather than just deleting them)
4. Ensure that your custom boot animation is named bootsamsung.qmg and bootsamsungloop.qmg and copy them to /system/media
5. Reboot and it should work!
Very good
All,
I apologize if this is a noob/repeated question..
I'm using an s4 with MJ7 on it. I have the latest version of xposed installer, and I have been able to install modules in the past, without problems. Now, whenever I try to install, I get the menu prompt but the install button won't work. I've tried installing via chrome, and within the closed installer. The problem is as if the button doesn't activate the action.
Thanks for your help,
Alex

Nothing happens when you press install?
Its waiting for your root permission. Somethings wrong with your supersu or superuser. Reinstall it then try again.

First:
Download and install these two apps onto your Kindle: "Xposed Framework" and "HDXPosed.apk"
Launch the "Xposed" application
Go to framework and click install
Go to modules and enable HDXPosed
Reboot
Also, If the download link for the HDXPosed module goes down. Here is the module's thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2618158

Also if you want to add a second Google account this is one way I found. (if you know another way please tell me)
1.If you don't have google play music, download and install it.
Once you open it you should be able to see and tap on Add account.
2.If you've already signed in:
Open Google Play Music.
Go to settings.

As far as I know a factory reset on stock firmware with simple root. Will not brick
the device you may lose the superuser app if you did not have it installed two system. But Per my experience you will not brick or lose root. If somebody knows better please chime in .
The only time a factory reset is harmful is if you're already stuck in a boot loop.

If you mean you have to root again then yes, you need to re root. SuperSU will still be installed but not functional until rooted again. Xposed gets uninstalled. Gapps are still there also, but won't work until HDXposed is activated again.
I think you have to enable OTA before updating or else your Kindle won't update.

changing musicfx back and forth didn't change the sound. but I know that the sound changed following the instructions and adding permissive option on selinux so maybe removing the file from the directory affected this?

Does viper4android give us system wide audio control? Such as allowing us to change the gain on the top/bottom speakers?
Edit: Dw I found out it does. Just need to root and get it now then.
I'm having constant problems keeping this working. I did everything told in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=63486621&postcount=7 yet every other day I get the issue of going into Google Music, playing music, and when I try to go to settings to get to Viper EQ, the music stops and Viper tells me all of a sudden that the driver isn't installed again (when it definitely was and was working fine).
Also, lately when I go into the SELinuxModeChanger app, it shows Enforcing is chosen, even right after I change it to Permissive. It keeps changing back on its own, even after root permissions are granted.
This wasn't happening until recently.
Running Elemental X's kernel if that matters.
Any ideas?
So I couldn’t wait any more so this weekend I rooted and got my Viper ON. Viper is one of the main reasons that I root. This is what I did:
1) I get TWRP and rooted by doing this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6p/general/guides-how-to-guides-beginners-t3206928
2) Now that I’m rooted, I get busy box working
3) I didn’t need to change my SEL Mode by doing this.
4) I Boot into TWRP and I flashed the attach zip. “ViPER4Android-supolicy.zip”
5) Disable MusicFX and then I went into system/vendor/etc and killed “audio_effects.conf”
6) Open Viper and install best Driver
7) I had to re-flash the zip 2-3 times without wiping before I got it working.
Now my 6P is on MDB08M, Crypted, enforcing mode with TWRP and rooted with Viper.
edit: here more info about the the attached zip:
