Hi all, is it possible to hide (or disable) Google search bar in stock launcher?
Thx.
PS: no, I don't want use an alternate launcher [emoji12]
Edit: problem solved (post #4)
+1, was wondering the same.
Same here.
I have Xposed framework also installed.
I want to remove the Google search bar, but i also want that space to be usable for shortcuts and widgets etc.
Thanks

Well, there few ways to do so:
1. [MOST RELIABLE] Find some xposed module that does it. safest and bugless method.
2. add "qemu.hw.mainkyes=0" line into /system/build.prop //UPD: oh, FC
3. Are you sure you need STATIC softkeys? You can also try to use dynamic ones like
- Ultimate Dynamic Navbar ( Google Play link , also there;'s thread of this app on xda, xda version has all pro features for free! )
- LMT lancher (it's not available on google play, search it on xda )
- GMD autohide softkeys (Google play link)

Tried Ultimate Dynamic Navbar, but the rest of the screen doesn't adjust to allow for the navbar (it covers up the bottom part of apps).

Best way I've found around this is by setting long press back to hide it and toggling it on/off manually. I agree though, a static option would be much better.

There is an app called Softkey enabler in play store... Dead simple... You have to be rooted of course https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sou...QmgJVUWkR5pa-YGBA&sig2=7ZONlclRkBNzsZ_cc-tVnA

Softkey enabler just makes the build.prop modification for you. Follow these instructions. Worked for me until I started using a custom ROM that had it built in.
I just installed Xposed (Greenify, GravityBox, and G2 Exposed modules) and have noticed that each time I reboot, the homescreen wallpaper changes to some default LG wallpaper. Anyone else have this problem? I"m getting tired of changing it back to what I want. The lockscreen wallpaper doesn't change, btw.
Actually, GravityBox isn't even working correctly right now, but this wallpaper issue existed when I got the other two modules before it.

Most probably you are greenifying what you shouldn't.
Check if you are not having in your greenified apps something that could have to do something with the wallpaper. (System UI parts, live wallpaper things, lwp etc...)

Can't get GravityBox to work yet. How did you get it to work? Lockscreen wallpaper isn't an issue, though.

I turned off Greenify module and still same issue. What's funny is that I got Greenify app before I had Xposed ( didn't even know what it was until recently).

Greenify works without xposed. Uninstall it and reboot and reboot.
Many apps are like this...
Changes persistent after unticking them...

Hey it worked! Hmm so does that mean I can't use Greenify then? Before I only selected apps and nothing regarding System UI parts.

Ah right. Ok.
So if Greenify doesn't require Xposed to work, that means I don't have to activate it in Xposed?

Well it will can work evoking the root rights, but I think not all of the functions will work from it. Would be better have it still in the Xposed.
Just find the culprit app and degreenify it.

Actually I don't think the problem is really Greenify.
I installed it again, changed nothing (ie did no activate in Xposed or hibernate apps), rebooted, and saw that same default wallpaper come up. Then I opened up an app (Facebook) and the wallpaper I wanted re-appeared. Not sure what's going on, but opening up an app seems to set things straight.
Does anybody know how to get rid of this "Slide Up Menu" (Navigation Bar Ring)?
I want to use my LMT pie control, but this thing mapped bottom area for self. I cannot find any settings for it and I have no idea from which app it comes from yet.
(Please ignore that black rectangle at then bottom of screenshot, it is not related to it)
Edit: I solved it by creating own Xposed mod.
I have another question regarding this. Sorry for hijacking.
Is it possible to add your own shortcuts to this Slide up? And remove Google?
Thank you!

It's probably possible, it would just take some work. Check out Slide Launcher, it does what you want.

Well, looks like there is no setting for it. At least nobody replied.
I begin to look into source code and I will do Xposed mod for it. Begin with disable it. Manage shortcuts should be possible too.
Have you guys tried this out?

Don't think that would work, because it doesn't disable ring but just replaces it with app that does nothing. This annoying ring is only reason why I don't move to stock kitkat roms.. Can't use pie.

Word.
We really need a fix for this.
Progress Update
I made Xposed mod and get rid of this navigation ring (search ring) now.
However LMT still not works, at least not everytime. I got few times luck, but mostly no reaction.
What do you guys using for Pie control? LMT as well?

Well I managed to disable ring with g2 tweakbox xposed. But it was same as you describe, pie works rarely from bottom screen border. Tried Lmt and pie in gravity box.

Success !!!!
Finally I made it work! :victory:
Now I have:
- hidden navigation bar
- disabled navigation ring
- LMT works perfect from the bottom on 100%
I made own Xposed mod to fix that.
I guess I don't need to ask if you guys want it as well, right?
Please wait one more day. I will clean it up and release new mod for you.
LG Pie Support
Xposed mod released to Xposed Repository. I created new thread in development section as well: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2689890
OK. So, I know I've done this before but can't remember how. I changed my system wide dpi but my dialer is awfully small. What app(s) do I need to change back with Wanam to fix it? I thought it was contacts but that's not doing the job...
Thnx!

Sorry for being unclear. What apps must I change back with app settings for the dialer to be properly sized?

It should be SecPhone or just Phone.
I just figured out that my App Settings will not enable under module settings. It says, in red text, "This module requires a newer XposedBridge (52) and thus cannot be activated."
I tried to update my xposed installer framework to no avail. Perhaps it's not out yet?
Have fun boys & girls ??.. Just download your desired height apk & reboot.. Enjoy,!

Thanks!

*edit* nevermind
Installed the 32dpi one on my S8+ stock no root and worked, but can not find the app to uninstall it
EDIT: Found it, it has a complete different name the the apk file name
Fyi there is a substratum mod that does nav height along with a ton of other cool stuff:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=substratum.draco.systemmods
Is there a apk for this with 0 as the height? I guess i could use that as a workaround to completely hide the nav bar as that other apk that permanently hides the nav bar doesnt work on Oreo right now.
EDIT: Actually does this one work in Oreo?
